Way to go Lena Dunham

Harvey Weinstein, the powerful Hollywood producer/Democratic fundraiser/friend of Obama and the Clintons, has been fired from his job as head of the Weinstein Company by its board of directors, following a report in the New York Times alleging decades of crude sexual harassment of actresses and female staffers. Board members were reportedly furious that he hadn’t disclosed multiple settlements paid to accusers.

But to be frank, it’s hard to believe that they were completely in the dark. Now that the Times has broken the silence, Hollywood insiders are saying that stories about Weinstein’s awful behavior toward women have been circulating for years. While a Republican would have been pilloried for even a hint of such behavior, Weinstein was protected by his liberal politics and fear of his power in show business.

Even now, the conspiracy of silence continues: late night comics who went ballistic over Donald Trump for saying crude things about women on a secretly-taped video from a decade before have been completely silent about Weinstein. The Daily Mail reported that “Saturday Night Live” had one joke about him in “Weekend Update” during dress rehearsal, and it got a big reaction but was cut out of the show that aired. When asked about it, producer Lorne Michaels brushed it off with, “It’s a New York thing.” I guess that means “SNL” doesn’t attack New Yorkers, which will certainly be news to Donald Trump.

While Democrats scurry to belatedly give the money Weinstein donated tothem to appropriately PC non-profits (or in some cases, try to figure out a plausible excuse not to), “Girls” star Lena Dunham was one of the few celebrities with the guts to speak out. She tweeted, in part: “This needs to end, and it’s high time Hollywood shone a light on itself and made real changes in the behavior we accept from those in power.”

Here’s something I bet you thought you’d never hear me say: Kudos to Lena Dunham!

She didn't say much. I just do not understand why Hollywood Celebs can't just do their jobs. Entertain us. That is what we pay for. I do not want to know that Tom Petty was a liberal! I don't care! I was told by a Petty Fan that "people like us" don't usually listen to "that" kind of music! Well, I do! I didn't know that country music meant conservative. I don't want Tim Allen off the air because of his belief. I don't want to watch Will and Grace and hear my President get put down. I do not want to hear the Harvey Biernstien gets a bye because he is funding the Clinton's. I get pissed when the hag from Porto Rico can't do her job, because she is to busy getting T-Shirts made that say they are dying. This is all so tiring. Have a blessed day!
