Today marks the start of the World Series for political junkies: Grand High Inquisitor Adam Schiff finally opens his padlocked dungeon door and gives the public a glimpse into his Star Chamber, where he is judge, jury and executioner, setting all laws by personal whim, denying the accused basic due process rights and calling “witnesses” who didn’t actually see or hear anything. In some cases, their own previous testimony has already discredited the charge that the Democrats are trying to press against Trump.
If you actually want to waste your time on this (and as a news commentator, I have to, but you don’t), here’s the equivalent of a show program telling you who will be testifying, when it starts, where you can watch it and all the other essential information about this monumentally non-essential and frivolous show trial.
The most important thing you need to remember if you do watch is that no matter how much these people harrumph and break down in tears because President Trump allegedly did something they disapprove of or fired them from their cushy jobs, as President, Trump sets foreign policy, not self-appointed and unelected “experts,” and he has the power to ignore their advice and even fire them at will. (Or not fire them, even if the media claim he is firing them.)
It is nice, though, that the media have finally moved beyond their “denial” stage of dealing with the Deep State coup against Trump and jumped straight to “acceptance.” Too bad they also went past "acceptance" and right into "embracing" Deep State rule.
It would also also be great if they could finally get past their denial, anger, bargaining and depression over Trump being elected in 2016…
Schiff can't keep hiding Ciaramella and the coup
As we head into the farcical public “impeachment inquiry” hearings starting today, House Intel Chairman Adam Schiff is doing everything he can to keep the name of the “whistleblower” (I prefer “Democratic operative/spy”) from becoming a part of the official record, let alone from being questioned live and in-person by Republicans such as John Ratcliffe and Jim Jordan. This is in spite of the fact that EVERYONE knows who this individual is. You know it, I know it, we all know it, the American people know it.
The lawyers for this person, of the anti-Trump law firm Whistleblower Aid, are threatening anyone who exposes the name of Eric Ciaramella with punitive damages, and apparently they have intimidated a number of media outlets that might not otherwise hesitate to report Ciaramella’s name. That’s unfortunate; I think we all need to grow a spine. As Gregg Jarrett has explained, the “whistleblower” law says nothing about maintaining anonymity except to say that, under most circumstances, the intelligence community IG is not supposed to identify him.
Democrats say they’re trying to protect this person’s safety, as there have been death threats. Pardon me, but if the name of this individual is not yet known, how has he (“or she”) received death threats? By telepathy? And if he (“or she”) HAS received death threats, that cow is already out of the barn, wouldn't you say?
I wanted to make sure you also read these comments:
I always thought the “crying baby Trump” balloon was a moronic thing that said more about the people who keep inflating it and floating it around than it does the President.
(Aside on that issue: the CEO of Chase Bank just declared this “the most prosperous economy the world has ever seen.” So let’s fire the guy responsible: https://lidblog.com/chase-bank-ceo/ )
Still, that didn’t stop TDS sufferers from donating thousands of dollars to create the dumb balloon. But when its handlers tried to float it at a University of Alabama/LSU football game in Tuscaloosa, where leftist gasbags are not so popular, a local man took a knife to it and popped it. Now he’s facing criminal mischief charges, but Trump supporters have already started a GoFundMe account for his legal fees that at last check was over $43,000.
Pardon me if I can’t help thinking about all the better ways that money could have been spent if this supremely stupid object had never been created in the first place. But at least, it’s finally served a useful purpose by helping to expose the hypocrisy of the media. Conservatives online noted that liberal media described the “slashing” of the Baby Trump balloon in shocked and violent terms that they would never use in describing the killing of real babies by abortionists. As usual, Kurt Schlicther put it best:
Now that San Francisco has elected a DA who plans to legalize crime, the city’s only hope is that people will start to behave themselves on their own, once they have the penetrating eyes of glowering teenage climate radical Greta Thunberg staring down down at them like a giant “Big Brother is Watching You” poster from “1984.”
This is something any Canadian readers might want to know about: a petition to reinstate NHL announcing icon Don Cherry, fired on Remembrance Day (their version of Veterans Day) for complaining that the flood of immigrants should at least buy poppies to support the veterans who secured the free lifestyle they’re coming to Canada to take advantage of.
Canadian leftists are denouncing him as an intolerant racist who doesn’t deserve to have a job after just reelecting a liberal prime minister who has more examples of wearing blackface makeup in his past than he does demonstrable policy successes. For his part, Cherry is not backing down, apologizing or groveling.
Bible Verse of the Day (KJV)
"The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil:
he shall preserve thy soul.
The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in
from this time forth, and even for evermore."
- Psalm 121:7-8 - KJV
