Good morning, everyone! Blessings on you and your family from all the Huckabee team! Today, if you have a moment, leave me a comment about something you read. Comments help me fine tune what I am writing, and they show that we have an active community of readers.

Sincerely,

Mike Huckabee

Daily Bible Verse

If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

Romans 10:9 NIV

1) MUST-READ:

Rabbi Michael Barclay on the real insidious reasons why Hamas is releasing hostages, and why thousands of allegedly innocent Palestinian civilians are returning to Gaza despite the danger. He says they’re not unwilling human shields, they’re unarmed soldiers, “willing and active cogs in the Hamas war effort, willing to die for their cause of destroying Israel” by helping Hamas win its PR campaign in the Western media to paint Israel as the aggressors.

https://pjmedia.com/rabbi-michael-barclay/2023/11/24/the-insidious-reason-why-hamas-is-releasing-hostages-n4924202

Fortunately, Prime Minister Netanyahu and other top Israeli officials are resisting the worldwide pressure from anti-Semites and terrorist appeasers to have an indefinite ceasefire, lay down their arms and go back to letting their people be slaughtered by these vicious maniacs. Knesset member and former Israeli ambassador to the UN Dany Danon said, "We are focused on the return of our hostages now, but we will resume our military campaign. We are not in a position to risk our future. We say the same to European leaders, and to President Biden. We appreciate your support, but this time we have no choice. We have to go all the way and eradicate Hamas at all costs."

2) Something to consider

Interesting story about movie actress Natalie Portman, who first came to fame at age 12 in the movie, “Leon: The Professional.”

https://nypost.com/2023/11/25/entertainment/natalie-portman-says-children-should-not-be-working-in-hollywood-after-she-was-sexualized-in-first-movie-at-age-12/

Now a mother of two, her advice to parents whose kids want to work in Hollywood is DON’T. Portman said she was talked about in sexual terms when she was still a young teen; it made her feel afraid and disrespected; and “it was almost an accident of luck that I was not harmed, also combined with very overprotective, wonderful parents.” She said it’s fine if you want to be in movies as an adult, but “I think kids should play and go to school.”

Yet another thing to think about the next time a Hollywood liberal gives Americans a moral lecture on how we’re not raising our kids right and should have more sexually-explicit books in elementary schools.

3) Public trust in elections continues to fall

If you don’t believe that the 2020 election was the most honest, scrupulous, unquestionably accurate election in history, then you’d better not say so or you’ll be silenced, slandered, demonetized and possibly prosecuted for a RICO violation. Ironically, the more some people keep insisting that there’s no such thing as voter fraud, the more the level of public trust in elections has fallen.

So if the people who want us to trust our elections are ever going to accomplish that goal, they need to come up with better responses to stories like these than “Shut up or else!”

https://www.westernjournal.com/gop-candidates-loss-1-vote-prompts-calls-whole-new-election-issue-shady-count-raised/

And people who care about our elections actually being trustworthy, rather than just stumping for blind trust, need to get more adamant about cleaning up the voting process to ensure not only that there’s no provable cheating but that there's no opportunity for cheating.

4) HIGHLY RECOMMENDED READING:

As if we didn’t have enough to worry about from our own government, there’s also propaganda from the United Front Work Department of the People’s Republic of China.  As reported by the U.K. DAILY MAIL, “the goal of [the UFWD] is to help China take over Taiwan and establish a new global order that revolves around CCP values and interests.”

Don’t expect our State Department and Department of Defense to stay on top of this, as they’ll be much too busy targeting Trump supporters at home.

5) Comic Relief:

A group of protesters gathered outside the White House, blaming President Biden for Gazans starving, and announced that they’re going on a hunger strike until there’s a permanent ceasefire. They included “Sex & The City” actress and failed leftist New York gubernatorial candidate, Cynthia Nixon. I congratulate them on coming up with an ingenious way to avoid gaining weight over the holidays.

6) News you probably won’t hear elsewhere:

In Donald Trump’s trial in New York on real estate fraud charges (the one where the judge who refuses to admit he’s biased found Trump guilty before hearing any arguments), Deutsche Bank executive David Williams took the stand and pretty much destroyed Attorney General Letitia James’ entire case.

He testified that it was “atypical, but not entirely unusual” for the bank to slash a loan applicant’s estimate of the value of his property by as much as 50% and still make the loan anyway. He said the bank does due diligence to assess the property’s value, and in this case, thanks to Trump’s history of successful developments and other criteria, they expected the project to make a profit, so they approved the loan. He also said the differing assessments of the property’s valuation wasn’t a disqualifying factor but “just a difference of opinion.”

So where exactly is the “fraud”? Ooh, I know, I know! She’s in the New York State Attorney General’s office!

7) More finger-pointing from the Left

In Chicago, which has been run by Democrats since the early 1930s, the far-left Mayor has finally figured out why black people there have so many problems like crime, gangs and poverty. It’s the fault of (drumroll, please)…”rightwing extremists!” I guess like those Chicago MAGA guys who attacked Jussie Smolett.

https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2023/11/28/chicago-mayor-brandon-johnson-blames-right-wing-extremists-city-problems/

When he’s voted out after one term, he could get a job writing for the New York Times.

8) And Another One Bites The Dust…

A Rhode Island judge threw out a lawsuit attempting to keep Donald Trump off the 2024 ballot. How can these heroic Democrats protect our democracy if these lousy judges keep letting the American people vote for whoever they want?!

https://www.westernjournal.com/rhode-island-judge-deals-blow-democrat-agenda-trump-cheering/

9) Economic News

Wednesday morning, the government estimated that the US economy grew at an annual rate of 5.2% in the third quarter of 2023, higher than the 4.9% economists predicted. Also, disposable personal income grew 2.9 percent after an upward revision of 1.1 percent. But before you start celebrating the red hot Biden economy, here are some caveats:

https://www.breitbart.com/economy/2023/11/29/gdp-revised-2/

"Disposable personal income grew 2.9 percent after an upward revision. Adjusted for inflation, real after-tax income rose 0.1 percent after a big upward revision of 1.1 percentage points."

“The upward revision (in GDP) reflects an increase in government spending and business investment. Consumer spending was revised down as were exports.”

Also, “Spending by the federal government grew at an annual rate of seven percent, revised up from the earlier estimate of 6.2 percent. Overall government spending, including state and local expenditures, rose at a 5.5 percent rate, up from the earlier estimate of 4.6 percent.”

So while I’m glad to hear any economic good news, pardon me for being skeptical that so much of it is based on the theory that Washington can spend us into prosperity.

10) A Gift Guide from Dave Barry

Now that the Christmas shopping season has officially begun (I may be a relic of a bygone age, but I still don’t believe in starting Christmas festivities until after Thanksgiving), here’s that annual Christmas tradition: humorist Dave Barry’s gift guide for 2023:

And to get you into a Christmas mood for real, here’s our writer Laura Ainsworth in her other job as an award-winning retro jazz singer, performing the original lyric of “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas.” Give it a listen, a like and a share, I know you’ll love it. You can also find it on all your favorite streaming and download services, to add to your holiday music lists.

First, I am a MAGA fan, just not a Trump fan. As his friend, perhaps you can persuade him to come out of his self-imposed 'basement' and participate in the debates rather than just organize a pep rally. Many things have changed since his presidency. I would like to know how he would work on those new challenges, again, at a debate, not a pep rally.
