The Secret Service gives up

The Secret Service has reportedly ended its investigation into the cocaine found in the White House without identifying a suspect, according to Tennessee Republican Rep. Tim Burchett. You can tell how this claim went over in the room by how the New York Post reported it: Burchett “stormed out of a briefing offered to lawmakers moments after it began, calling the conclusion ‘bogus.’”

https://nypost.com/2023/07/13/white-house-cocaine-investigation-concluded-no-suspect-idd-secret-service/

Why would he be skeptical of their claim, aside from the fact that the feds were able to track down anonymous grannies from over a thousand miles away who’d merely walked through the Capitol grounds on January 6th? And aside from knowing the coke was found in a secure part of the White House where only a limited number of people, like the President's family, can evade security checkpoints? And that Biden’s son Hunter, a known cocaine addict, has been staying there recently? No, the coke’s owner will forever remain an enigma.

FYI: The official announcement won’t come until tomorrow, so the Secret Service still has one more day to solve this most vexing of mysteries.

President Biden at NATO

President Biden just wrapped up a NATO summit in Lithuania, and I think you can tell from headlines like these that it didn’t go all that swimmingly.

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/biden-calls-zelensky-vladimir-during-nato-remarks-in-latest-gaffe/ar-AA1dMLEZ

https://redstate.com/sister-toldjah/2023/07/12/bumbling-joe-biden-embarrasses-u-s-on-world-stage-once-again-with-incoherent-nato-speech-n775425

https://www.westernjournal.com/biden-skips-big-nato-dinner-white-house-claims-many-days-work-row/

The President’s staff at these events is usually busy with putting out press releases, getting him fully prepared for speeches and meetings and ensuring he’s where he needs to be on time. Biden’s staff has to devote most of its time to making up excuses for why he can’t form a coherent sentence or leave the stage without tripping over an invisible person, or doesn’t show up at all.

This is also hard on the Democrat sycophant media, who have been forced to adapt their excuses from “That’s just Republican lies” to “He’s always been nasty and incoherent, that’s just Joe being Joe” to being now reduced to fuming about his staff not doing a good enough job of helping him cover up the fact that he’s incapable of doing the job due to age-related infirmities.

https://www.westernjournal.com/msnbcs-mika-brzezinski-furious-bidens-staffers-arent-good-enough-job-covering-issues/

I don’t think that’s going to be as effective a message as they hope it is. Particularly with so many people now noticing that no matter how many coats of paint they put on the house, it still has bats in the attic.

https://www.westernjournal.com/gop-doctor-biden-classic-sign-dementia-something-obvious-outside/

If they want to put a more positive spin on the fact that that a bunch of ghouls are exploiting an 80-year-old man in an attempt to cling to power and make money, but it’s backfiring because the public can see through it, then I suggest they try calling Biden “The Indiana Jones of Presidents.”

By the way, for those wondering about what happened at the NATO summit other than trying to get Joe Biden through it in one piece, here’s a recap from Redstate’s military analyst.

A Jerk

Here’s the latest round-up of news about the revelation (shocking to some media figures) that Joe Biden is actually not so much a kindly grandpa as he is a mean, foul-mouthed jerk.

https://instapundit.com/594526/

Mounting evidence is moving numbers

Liberal media outlets are desperately trying to ignore the growing pile of evidence of lucrative influence peddling by the Biden family, but they no longer control the flow of information. That’s proven by a new I&I/TIPP poll. It found that voters believe the whistleblowers over the Biden denials by a margin of 2-1. And 56% of voters believe it’s likely that Joe Biden took bribes while in office, with only 27% thinking it’s not likely. The rest are unsure. I guess they only watch MSNBC and CNN so they haven’t heard anything at all about this story.

Crystal Clear

It’s become crystal clear over the past few years that everything the Democrats are put in charge of turns into manure, which is why we should be alarmed to learn what’s been happening since they’ve been in charge of the National Weather Service’s tornado warning system.

Stop The Presses!

California Gov. Gavin Newsom finally found a criminal whom he didn’t want to let out of prison! It’s Manson family member Leslie Van Houten. Newsom was overruled by the parole board, and Van Houten was released Tuesday after 55 years in prison. Robert Spencer at PJ Media has a theory that California is now so much crazier than Charles Manson that she should fit right in. In fact, if Newsom runs for President, she’d make the perfect replacement Governor.

Boxing champ doesn't mince words

We hear a lot of balloon juice from “activists” about “trans” women being women and having no biological advantages in women’s sports. But how about hearing from an actual sports expert like former super middleweight champion boxer Carl Froch? In an interview with SafeBettingSites.com, Froch had this to say about “trans” female boxers competing in women’s boxing. See if you can divine his feelings from his diplomatic verbiage:

https://www.westernjournal.com/boxing-champ-doesnt-mince-words-calls-like-transgenders-sports/

“It’s ridiculous, it’s disgraceful, and it shouldn’t happen on anybody’s watch…It’s a man, basically, beating up a woman. Don’t care if they’ve transgendered into a woman, and they now think they’re a woman and they’re taking drugs to lower their testosterone intake. They’re stronger, they’re more powerful… So a man born a man, with the XY chromosome, fighting a woman who’s a woman — with a uterus. Shouldn’t happen, ever. Should be banned and outlawed. It should never, ever happen…When you talk about a combat sport, you’re talking about a man…a biological man competing against a biological woman in a contact sport. No. Never.”

Sorry about the repetition, but apparently, some people need to be beaten over the head with obvious truths before they sink in.

“Sound of Freedom” is NOT fantasy

While some liberal media outlets like Rolling Stone are raising suspicions about their motives by attacking the indie film “Sound of Freedom” as a “QAnon conspiracy fantasy,” they’re only creating an angry backlash and helping sell even more tickets. And not every celebrity is going along with their hypocritical denial of the tragic reality of child sex trafficking (and coming from Hollywood yet!)

https://www.foxnews.com/media/singer-jewel-praises-sound-freedom-bashes-media-politicizing-film-see

For instance, Elon Musk suggested putting the film on Twitter, and singer Jewel urged all her fans to see it. She called it “the most inspiring film” and blasted critics that are trying to politicize it, tweeting, “This is not left or right. It’s about millions of kids being trafficked, and no matter what your faith or creed, we need to protect all the vulnerable kids rather than fight over philosophical differences."

Yet for some mysterious reason, powerful people in Hollywood seem almost as terrified about people learning the realities of the sexual exploitation of minors as they are about a low budget indie film outearning a bloated Indiana Jones sequel. I think the Babylon Bee might have hit on the reason for that…

https://babylonbee.com/news/hollywood-confused-by-new-movie-that-depicts-child-sex-trafficking-as-bad

Star Jim Caviezel also pointed out the hostility to what should be a universal condemnation of child sex trafficking (although remember, some of these same critics praised Netflix’s pedo pageant “Cuties” and thought they could convince moviegoers to forget the creepy off-camera stories about “The Flash” star Ezra Miller – spoiler alert: they couldn’t.) Caviezel said he lost his lawyer and two agents who had been with him for 15 and 17  years over his insistence on doing this movie, and now he understands why so many actors were reluctant to do it.

He said, “Listen, you do ‘Schindler’s List,’ 50 years later you’re a hero. Try doing ‘Schindler’s List’ when the real Nazis are right there. Understand how that becomes more dangerous? I don’t understand why people are willing to let children be hurt, but in this time, Hollywood says, ‘No, no, let’s kick that down fifty years from now and then [see where we’re at]. That’s crap.”

https://www.hollywoodintoto.com/jim-caviezel-lost-agents-sound-of-freedom/

It’s definitely the movie that a lot of people in Hollywood and the media don’t want you to see. So here’s where you can go to find showtimes and tickets to see it:

The Babylon Bee covers President Biden’s weekend beach getaway:

Under questioning, Wray proves once again he’s a waste of space

FBI Director Christopher Wray actually stayed in his chair for the duration of the House Judiciary Committee’s questioning on Wednesday, rather than skipping out to catch a private jet to go trout fishing.  But he managed to use the same techniques he always does to avoid answering questions and at times showed flashes of truly pathetic leadership.

Instead of answering a direct question, he typically responds only that he has to “be careful” in how he answers.  The irony here is that the FBI has utterly failed to be careful in carrying out other areas of its job, notably respecting the rights of everyone regardless of their political persuasions and connections.

Dodging questions might be getting more challenging for Wray, though, because each successive time he testifies, we have more context --- more we’ve learned from whistleblowers and troves of documents about what the FBI has been up to.  I’d venture to say there are more people rolling their eyes at him now than there were at his last appearance.

This time it was Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz who came out swinging at the FBI director, and his frustration at not being able to get answers from Wray was on full display.  “You preside over the FBI, and it has the lowest level of trust in the FBI’s history,” Gaetz said.  “People trusted the FBI more when J. Edgar Hoover was running the place than when you are.  And the reason is ‘cause you don’t give straight answers.  You give answers that later a court deems aren’t true, and at the end of the day, you won’t criticize an obvious shakedown when it’s directly in front of us, and it appears as though you’re whitewashing the conduct of corrupt people.”

The “shakedown” reference was to whistleblower allegations that in an FBI “1023” form, Hunter Biden was alleged to have threatened a Chinese executive whose company hadn’t yet made good on its “commitment” to the Bidens, mentioning on the phone that his father, then the Vice President, was there in the room with him.  Congress finally obtained the “1023” in mostly-unredacted form detailing this story, along with supporting evidence that both Joe and Hunter were at Joe’s Wilmington home that day, and that $10 million was sent to the Bidens soon after.

When asked about this “shakedown,” Wray would only say, “I’m not gonna get into commenting on that.”  This pitiful response led Gaetz to ask him straight-out if he was protecting the Bidens, a question we all by now know the answer to.  It’s doubtful that Wray’s tepid “absolutely not” persuaded anyone that he wasn’t.

AMERICAN GREATNESS has more of their exchange.

https://amgreatness.com/2023/07/12/fbi-director-wray-denies-protecting-bidens-in-fiery-exchange-with-rep-gaetz

Watch the video here…

https://rumble.com/v2zma2u-matt-gaetz-reads-christopher-wray-bidens-shakedown-message-wrays-answer-is-.html

Wray even had the temerity to deny that the FBI engages in any censorship of American citizens on social media.  Under questioning, he said the FBI’s focus was on “foreign hostile actors” and that the Bureau “is not in the business of moderating content or causing any social media company to suppress or censor.”  That is not even close to the truth; Wray’s FBI has made it very much their business, and apparently still does.  (See yesterday’s newsletter story about the FBI’s efforts to suppress social media messages on behalf of Ukrainian intelligence.)

By far the highlight of Wednesday’s hearing was (sadly) not anything Wray said but what freshman Texas Rep. Wesley Hunt said about the differences in how two Presidents are being treated.  He said the disastrous poll numbers tell Biden that “the only way to stop President Trump from beating him is by putting him in jail.”  TOWNHALL’s story includes the video

https://townhall.com/tipsheet/rebeccadowns/2023/07/12/wesley-hunt-on-terribly-ironic-difference-n2625646

From what he said yesterday, Hunt deserves to be a rising star in the GOP.  Check out this resume.

https://hunt.house.gov/about

In another exchange, Texas Rep. Chip Roy asked Wray about the case of Mark Houck, the pro-life activist who was arrested by the FBI during a massive armed raid, over an incident that had taken place a year earlier.  Houck’s attorney had already reached out to the FBI and said his client would appear voluntarily.  Local authorities had investigated the incident and their case had been closed.  When Rep. Roy asked Wray if he thought it was appropriate for the FBI to treat Houck this way, Wray dodged again, saying he wouldn’t “second-guess the judgment of the career agents on the ground who made the determination.”

Good grief.  “Inadequate” is much too kind a word.  Watch the video here…

https://rumble.com/v2zp4tk-fifth-column-sabateur-christopher-wray-stands-behind-fbi-jackboots-arrest-o.html

When abuses this horrendous are taking place, someone in charge NEEDS to second-guess them.  Why even bother having an FBI director?  Just let partisan assistants and rogue agents and informants trample Americans’ rights.  The result would be the same.  In fact, we’ve theorized for a long time that Wray’s second-in-command, Lisa Monaco, formerly with the Obama administration, is really running the show, with essentially no oversight.

Under questioning from Wyoming Rep. Harriet Hageman, Wray admitted the FBI had continued to meet with social media companies until U.S. District Judge Terry Doughty’s injunction was issued on July 4.  But he objected to her characterization of what the FBI had been doing, while offering no alternative explanation.

“Do you really expect the American people to believe that you were not involved in the decisions related to using social media companies to suppress the First Amendment rights of American citizens?” she asked.  He answered with his usual vagueness: “I can only speak to what the facts are.”  And then, he fails to address those facts.

https://dailycaller.com/2023/07/12/chris-wray-fbi-meeting-social-media-companies-terry-doughty

“Did Joe Biden take payments from Burisma or any foreign companies as Vice President, President, or as a private citizen Biden?” asked Wisconsin Rep. Tom Tiffany, in reference to an alleged $5 million bribe paid by corrupt Ukrainian energy company Burisma Holdings.  After some dodging by Wray, Rep. Tiffany asked him if the President is under investigation.  Naturally, Wray refused to confirm or deny that, citing “longstanding department policy and practice.”

https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2023/07/12/fbi-director-wray-doesnt-confirm-or-deny-if-joe-biden-is-under-investigation-for-alleged-burisma-bribes/

It seems to be the longstanding department policy and practice to avoid telling Congress anything.

RELATED:  If the FBI actually were investigating President Biden, they surely would have connected the same dots linking the Bidens, current administration officials such as Secretary of State Tony Blinken, and the players in Ukraine that Nick Arama at REDSTATE connects in his latest report.  Actually, as he points out, this is all material that REDSTATE, the NEW YORK POST and Tucker Carlson were covering in 2020 --- before the election.  (Note:  we did, too, in the newsletter.)  These stories come around again and seem new, but those who paid attention the first time are feeling deja vu.  We’re also exasperated that there’s never any resolution.

Anyway, Arama hones in on an email from November 2, 2015, showing Hunter Biden and Burisma executives talking about hiring the lobbying firm Blue Star --- whose CEO had been Bill Clinton’s deputy chief of staff --- to counter-message any investigations into Burisma and Burisma’s founder, the same individual who allegedly paid bribes to the Bidens.  They discuss the “organization of a visit of a number of widely recognized and influential current and/or former US policy makers to Ukraine in November…”

Turns out, Biden made his now-infamous visit to Ukraine, the one in which he threatened the withdrawal of foreign aid to get prosecutor Viktor Shokin fired, in December 2015.  At the beginning of December, Blue Star had been on a conference call with the Obama/Biden team about that very trip, so it appears President Obama was clued in.

For when you have time to wade into this, it’ll be interesting.  Think the FBI has been seriously looking into this?  Me, neither.

Sir, I say, deny all funding of the FBI, the CIA, or any other government department or organization that will not separate themselves from the President or Congress in their attempts to protect the citizens of our great nation. They take an oath. "Make" them adhere to it. The citizens of this NATION require their adherence to that oath. Without exception.

    Dear Sir,

In regard to your opening story: the DOJ can track down a "granny" across the entire United States, into her living room, and arrest her for questionable reasons, but cannot find out who dropped a bag of cocaine in a locker room at the White House? These folks need to sharpen their skills at telling lies.

Let's see: Lie #1: This was not cocaine, it was washing powder dropped by the Laundry Lady at the White House, but we have her in retention, where she will stay until she confesses. (period)

Lie #2: There was no bag of white powder. It was a bag of Black Pepper instead. The night janitor reported it missing this morning.

Lie #3: The alleged "white powder" in the plastic bag immediately dissolved upon testing in the bathroom's urinal.

Lie #4: Seven of our agents tested the contents of the bag with white powder. They found bright-colored lights and bubbles floating in a haze in front of their eyes, but no cocaine.

Lie #5: What bag filled with white powder?
