Here’s how NOT to test whether a store will respect your Second Amendment rights: don’t do as the 20-year-old suspect in Springfield, Missouri, did and strap on a bulletproof jacket and carry a rifle, a pistol and 100 rounds of ammo into Walmart to see how people would react.  At least, that’s what he claims he was doing.  Even if that’s all he was planning, he could still face up to four years in prison and a $10,000 fine for second degree terroristic threat.

https://www.foxnews.com/us/suspect-in-disturbance-at-missouri-walmart-said-he-was-testing-2nd-amendment-rights-prosecutors

Fortunately, the reason we don’t know his intentions for sure is that he was stopped immediately by an as-yet unnamed Huck’s Hero, an off-duty firefighter who pulled out his concealed pistol and held him with his hands up until the police arrived.  So we’re also not sure whether this story isn’t getting much media attention because nobody was shot or because a shooting was prevented by a good guy with a legal concealed gun.

After a spate of males who claim to identify as females trounced girls in girls’ school sports competitions and took all the trophies and scholarships, there is a glimmer of hope that some sanity might finally be restored.  The Department of Education has launched a formal investigation into complaints by female athletes and their parents of unfair competition.  And ironically, the complaint is based on Title IX, the same anti-sex discrimination law that forced schools to offer equal athletic opportunities to girls in the first place.

https://www.westernjournal.com/ct/feds-finally-investigating-whether-illegal-boys-play-high-school-sports-girls/

While the complaints about allowing transgender students to compete as girls are coming from all over the country, the investigation stems from a claim by a Connecticut student that she was removed from her sprint relay team and denied college athletic recommendations because she and other girls were replaced by transgender athletes who were born male.  She testified that using these athletes, with their inherent biological advantages of male bodies, causes girls to be denied equal athletic opportunities, as per Title IX.

https://www.westernjournal.com/ct/feds-finally-investigating-whether-illegal-boys-play-high-school-sports-girls/

In a welcome (and these days, very brave) statement, the young woman she’s fully supportive of these transgender students being true to themselves and expressing themselves in school, “but athletics have always had extra rules to keep the competition fair,” and “girls competing against boys know the outcome before the race even starts.”

To show how these “you are whatever you identify as” rules have thrown a monkey wrench into reality, the female athlete is being represented by the conservative legal aid group, the Alliance Defending Freedom, which said, “Allowing boys to compete in girls’ sports reverses nearly 50 years of advances for women.”

So to sum up: in the name of ending gender discrimination, schools are discriminating against girls.  Feminists who speak out against that are denounced as sexists.  And the ADF is now defending feminism.

As Ray Davies of the Kinks sang in “Lola,” “Girls will be boys and boys will be girls, it’s a mixed-up, muddled-up, shook-up world.”

Today’s must-read article by Byron York asks the question, “Has anyone actually read the El Paso manifesto?”

https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/columnists/has-anyone-actually-read-the-el-paso-manifesto

We’ve now been through almost a week of rising partisan hysteria, accusing President Trump (and by extension, anyone who voted for him) of being white supremacists who were accomplices to the El Paso mass shooting.  This was because the shooter reportedly posted a crazy “manifesto” that made it clear that he was enraged over race-mixing and illegal immigration (the blame-Trump crowd conveniently ignores that the shooter predicted the media would falsely blame Trump when he’d felt this way long before Trump entered politics – just as they’re trying to ignore the mass shooting the next day in Dayton, Ohio, by a Satan-loving, Elizabeth Warren-supporting, pro-gun control socialist, but I digress.)

York makes the point that everyone in the media is talking about the shooter’s motivations and his manifesto, but has anyone actually read it?  Because even though it’s clearly insane, there’s a lot of stuff in it that’s totally at odds with the leftist narrative or with any of Trump's beliefs, but nobody’s saying anything about that. For instance, the shooter not only denies being influenced by Trump, he criticizes Trump for issuing too many work visas to foreigners.

Read the full article for the details, but prepare to be surprised if you thought his manifesto was just a rehash of a Trump rally speech.  He was also furious about automation replacing jobs, Republicans backing corporations, the high cost of college, and most of all, he rants at length about his extreme environmentalist views. He was angry that illegal immigration was bringing in too many people who would exhaust resources (and use up government money that could be spent on universal health care and a guaranteed income.)  He’d obviously been filled with the same doomsday environmentalist messages that are drilled into many kids these days: that people are a plague and we need to “get rid” of a lot of them to save the planet. At one point, he rails against people drying their hands on paper towels made from trees, as if the tree were more important than human life.

I wonder where he got that idea?  I’m pretty sure I know, but I would never blame the sources of such ideas for the killings this lunatic personally committed.

It SEEMS we have a choice now between insanity, documented, and the sanity of Trump. There is a shocking chasm between the two. This is the kind of behavior the left promulgates? really and they expect us to compromise? With what? It is about time to treat the left, like communists which they profess to be. The constitution has a remedy for that.

I see it as a bully mentality when a male acts like he's a girl and crushes the true girl athlete into the ground. But then if he has any self esteem, he wouldn't be transgendering.

I received this from the IFC.
How do we get people to take this to heart?

“Red Flag Laws” are the latest wave to crash over us here in America.  Simply explained, a person who levies a complaint against another can go before the court and a judge can then strip the accused of his or her rights and possessions. Most often, the accused is not even notified of the proceedings, much less given an opportunity to testify in their own defense.  Only after a confiscation order has been executed will he or she have an opportunity – perhaps up to two weeks later – to hire a lawyer and appear before a judge to protest the action. Put the issue of the Second Amendment and due process aside, and think long and hard about what I described above.  Can you think of any way that scenario could slide horribly sideways?

While I’m sure it has never happened, do you think there are some ex-spouses or former live-ins with an axe to grind who just might conjure or embellish a story in order to inflict harm and/or exact revenge on their former significant other?  Yeah…  You can’t swing a dead cat without hitting someone with that precise life experience.  To be accused is one thing, but to have your rights removed without due process is to trash the founding principles of our nation.

I want safety and security just as much, and many times more, than most of my opposition.  The problem is, I’m honest about it.  The other side?  Rarely.  They make up statistics and stick to them like glue.  With no small irony, we have them to thank for the policies which directly lead to all this trouble in our culture.  When a tragedy befalls America, you can count on a Rahm Emanuel-type to, “Never let a good crisis go to waste.”

Maybe we shouldn’t kick God out of everything.  After all, ethics are a pretty big deal and when you no longer know where ethics come from and aren’t taught and use ethics, you’re in big trouble.  Even if you’re not religious, the understanding of right and wrong matter supremely.  I’m sorry, but you’re not going to pick up crucial ideologies from YouTube.

Possibly, the systemic corrosion of the nuclear family through social attack, bad legislation, atrocious court rulings, and general intellectual promiscuity are really lousy things to do.  When we devalue family in every way possible, is it any surprise when we learn the family lives of those who sought to do great harm was akin to a train wreck?

Maybe, just maybe, the deconstruction of community has been ignorant and silly.  When class warfare, weaponization of the races, sexism as a form of power, perpetual arrangements for the purposes of self-indulgence, and homes lacking both parents are the norm, we’ve really screwed up.

You can pass any red flag law you want, but it’s a completely flawed premise and will never actually achieve its goal in any quantifiable sense.  Why?  When the dust settles in the court room, the rights have been removed, the weapons have been confiscated, and everyone takes a deep breath, do you know what is left in place to stop someone from doing others gratuitous harm?  …A piece of paper.

We’ve stigmatized mental illness in this country to the point where individuals are embarrassed or ashamed to seek any kind of help or treatment.  If someone truly is a danger to themselves or others to the point the state confiscates their possessions and removes their rights, no further damage could possibly result after a red flag order has been served, right?  No.

Adding insult to injury, we’re also treading deeply into uncharted waters.  I have yet to find a judge that was also a trained, licensed, and well-practiced psychiatrist.  Should any of us have any comfort with a judge, whose proclivities deeply trend towards erring on the side of safety, having the keys to the mental health kingdom?  We’ve seen numbers varying in states from 65% to 95% for granting these orders.  We should all have a fundamental problem with a judge deciding what mental illness is for others, and a public that tosses that critical diagnosis around so freely.

Will that document stop anyone from finding a million other ways to lash out?  No.  We’re creating a false sense of security for Americans in the same way those utterly stupid ‘Gun Free Zone’ stickers do on malls, libraries, and county courthouses.  The same people pushing for red flag laws may actually believe they’ve done something to rectify the cultural problem we’re faced with.  If pieces of paper and stickers on doorways did the trick, then we could easily obey the pieces of paper that outline the laws each of these people break in order to hurt others.  This idea a piece of paper will spare us harm is ludicrous, but moreover, it is extremely dangerous.

After a red flag law is put in place, the public will let their guard down (assuming it was ever up) and go about their day under the false notion that all is well again.  They’ve expressed outrage, some Senator thought they could save us from ourselves and pick up some campaign fodder, and the executive office signed some garbage into law because they didn’t take the time to pause and use their brains, while instead listening to their precious policy advisors.  That’s often how law is made these days, by the way…  This process sends a message to the American people, “We listened and made you safer.”  But are we?

I submit to you we are worse off, not better.  The piece of paper, the sticker on the door, or a politician running to get in front of the camera after a tragedy all offer the same thing – a LIE.  You’re not safer as a result of any of these things because we haven’t yet dealt with the core problem.  Faith, family, and community have been destroyed over the last 50 years in this country.  What can the political class be doing for you to truly help?  They can do two things and two only.  They can foster legislation and erect programs that allow Faith, family and community to flourish.  Next, they can get the heck out of the way and allow it to be shaped by the people who know best – the greatest generation would be where I’d start.  There are plenty of them left around and they know a thing or two about living and living rightly.  Maybe we should listen with their ears and look through their lenses.

Get your family back in church.  And don’t always pick the easy churches because it interferes the least with your life.  Trust me, what you often want is rarely what you need.  Put yourself out of your comfort zone and donate your time to making meals for the poor of sustenance.  Get your kids in a church youth program or school program of some sort.  Talk with your children’s favorite teacher and ask where they think your child might best fit if you don’t already know.  When you see the neighbor’s woodpile knocked over, help him pick it up and restack it.  Volunteer to flip pancakes at the local firemen’s breakfast fundraiser.  Take a night once a week and turn off the electronics.  Play card or board games with one another.  Pull out a book or go to the library together once a week, if only for a short while.

Each one of the things listed above you can do, and that’s barely scratching the surface.  The most important part of these vital exercises?  Involve a friend whom you know is hurting.  Engage a neighbor you know is having a rough patch.  Take your children along whenever you can.  This entire idea is based on growing in character together.  This is parenting.  This is exploring and shoring up your Faith.  This is community building.  This is love.  This is forgiveness.  No piece of paper or sticker will ever accomplish what these things do.  This is a generational alteration, not one born of the moment.  It takes time and persevere and make a fundamental change.  And I promise you, just like the way America was built, this is the only way we will prosper moving forward.  We live in a time of instant gratification; thus, we’re dumb enough to think we can magically wave a legislative wand and cure the problems overnight.  That is fantasy, not reality. It took a long time to corrode our culture, so it’ll take more than a day to improve it.

More laws will not deter the lawless.  We must place a very personal touch on people so they don’t choose lawlessness.  Everyone reading this knows this to be a solid and profound truth.  The question now becomes, will you engage in character building, forgiveness, and love, or would you rather have the state attempt handling those three things on your behalf?

REFUSE to get 'PERMITS' from the government. It's none of their business how we protect ourselves. The 2nd Amendment is our 'Permit' to carry'. 'PERMITS' are not THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE but GOVERNMENT CONTROL over our liberties and freedoms. Little bit by little bit, they are chipping away at our Constitutional freedoms. Our Constitution puts LIMITS on GOVERNMENT; Now they can make a law to take away our 'registered' guns because they'll know who has them. **** That's what Hitler did to the Jews!

As for the gender discrimination: Girls compete as girls, boys compete as boys.
These transgender freaks of nature have no business competing in other than their birth gender. To do otherwise amounts to "doping"-with the attendant disqualification and potential legal action.-If you are competing in a female event-you need to be tested for excessive testosterone levels--just like it has been done in the past--fail that and you are out--just the same for male events and estrogen--good Lord what have we come to here???---these nutcases are not only committing a sin, but they are alien to our society(the sin will be dealt with by the Lord-thus I don't judge those people)--but when they force their sickness on me I have the right to object, and I will not permit these folks forcing their pagan agenda onto my daughters and grandchildren.

The killing of any innocent human being is a sin, from the innocent unborn to indiscriminate mass murder, and all that lies between. The taking of an innocent life is pure evil, an evil that does not discriminate when it takes hold. It does not solely rest in white males. It can manifest & fester in anyone, regardless of race, creed, color, nationality, sexual orientation & status of income. Guns are not evil by themselves. It is the evil doer behind them that is the danger. Guns can be a weapon of evil or of good. Red flag laws sounds good on the surface, but they can open the door to removing guns from the good law abiding citizens. At its worst, this is the first step of a zealot totalitarian government that can suppress & control its people. At its best, it can take a way an effective line of defense from good law abiding people. I believe the 2nd Amendment is vital in keeping our individual & national security. I caution any red flag laws approval and only as a state law. Maybe a President Trump would be fair but an AOC, no way. I urge every Republican to back away from a federalized red flag law. It will become our downfall if enacted. The real issue is getting the guns out of the hands of evil, dangerous or mentally damaged individuals. Guns & law abiding citizens are not the problem and their rights & safety must not be compromised. Republicans should not be suckered into capitulating. They need to stay commitment to our constitution and seek real solutions that will actually benefit keeping guns out of the hands of the bad guys not the good guys.

The Left does not really care about controlling violence. They have been wanting to disarm the citizens for years. The Left takes advantage of tragic & horrible incident to manipulate the conversation in order to benefit their political agenda. The Left have weaponized guns in order to takedown, disrupt, negate, & divide the populous. The Left obviously doesn’t care about the ramped violence that occurs every day in Democrat controlled cities across this nation. They have no problem with ANTIFA. They promote violent confrontation against peaceful law abiding citizens who disagree with their point of view. The term “hateful Presidents rhetoric” is plastered all over the airwaves, but it is the news pundits & Trump haters who use harmful lying hateful rhetoric that is sadly used to subvert the facts. I would say that it is the Left’s daily hateful diatribes that create & instigates violent act (often with gun use) against our law abiding citizens. If you really listen to the President, he does more to comfort, unite, consoles, & strives to protect the public safety & well-being. Republicans need to be more aggressive when it comes to backing the President. But keep him real, give him the honest facts, he has good instincts.

I remember an article from some years back (so long ago I don't remember the school or state) where a girl and her parents sued a school, school district, local and BOE's in order to allow the girl to play high school football with the boys. She won her case. Uhmm....golly, she was injured, go figure!!! Next lawsuit was pretty much against the same entities for not 'splaining to her and her parents she might get hurt. I've seen boys with football injuries--don't know why they figured she wouldn't get hurt--unless they were expecting the boys to go easy on her--being a girl and all. Don't know the outcome of that lawsuit--should have been tossed as frivolous, IMO. IIRC, it was the ACLU that helped with the first lawsuit, don't know who was in on the second.

What is sad, is that mostly likely the vast majority of these high school athletes aren't part of the extreme feminist movement, but have to suffer from what I see as the adverse effects of that movement. I dare say most women on this planet are not in agreement with the ultra-feminists.

I don't think msm is going to spend any time at all on the mass murderer in CA--they can't scream gun control. And, they don't dare bring up the MS13 connection--as MS13 has been one of the issues President has been against even during the campaign.

Every progressive could read this manifesto and it would make no difference. These people are so determined to get Trump, they will do anything. It is amazing that there have not been attempts on his life with the abject hatred going around. They are really deranged.

Speaking of derangement: I have never been a conspiracy person , but it is totally amazing that Epstein died right after the names were released of some prominent figures. A lot of money might appeal to low paid prison workers or to another prisoner for their family. I have also heard that even among some of the worst criminals this type of crime is considered to be the worst of the worst. But he saved the taxpayers a lot of money and deprived the press of foaming at the mouth news. Of course they would have blamed Trump somehow. I got s hangnail the other day and figured Trump caused it. I think the thing that disturbs me the most is the number of people who hung with Epstein over the years, including our President. I am highly suspicious that there were thoughts among the crowd that Epstein liked young girls but no one wanted to rock the high living boat. What is wrong with grown men that some find very young girls attractive, or that they would take action even if they secretly do. Do the words morality and character mean anything at all anymore? I imagine Epstein was creepy to be around.

I am welcoming all Black and Brown conservatives to the common sense agenda of dealing with issues that concern all Americans. Quality of life is very important to all Americans the United States is the place where it can happen for all; the country needs every American seeking a good life for all its citizens to join in and make it happen; We have quite a bit of work to clean up towns and cities that Liberal government have allowed to be ruined. Don't let the name calling, Racist and all the crap the left calls us discourage you we know we are not Racist we want all to be a part of a good life that will only make us stronger remember the enemies that lurk outside our borders are waiting for us to fail where do we go if we fail like the Liberals are seeking us to do. When all experience a good life you will understand why America is the place to be. Our cities under liberal rule is shameful I will not enter them.

This article was written by a college student by the name of Alyssa Ahlgren, who's in grad school for her MBA. It's a short article but definitely worth a read.

My Generation Is Blind to the Prosperity Around Us! I’m sitting in a small coffee shop near Nokomis trying to think of what to write about. I scroll through my newsfeed on my phone looking at the latest headlines of Democratic candidates calling for policies to “fix” the so-called injustices of capitalism. I put my phone down and continue to look around. I see people talking freely, working on their MacBook’s, ordering food they get in an instant, seeing cars go by outside, and it dawned on me. We live in the most privileged time in the most prosperous nation and we’ve become completely blind to it. Vehicles, food, technology, freedom to associate with whom we choose. These things are so ingrained in our American way of life we don’t give them a second thought. We are so well off here in the United States that our poverty line begins 31 times above the global average. Thirty. One. Times. Virtually no one in the United States is considered poor by global standards. Yet, in a time where we can order a product off Amazon with one click and have it at our doorstep the next day, we are unappreciative, unsatisfied, and ungrateful.

Our unappreciation is evident as the popularity of socialist policies among my generation continues to grow. Democratic Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez recently said to Newsweek talking about the millennial generation, “An entire generation, which is now becoming one of the largest electorates in America, came of age and never saw American prosperity.”

Never saw American prosperity! Let that sink in. When I first read that statement, I thought to myself, that was quite literally the most entitled and factually illiterate thing I’ve ever heard in my 26 years on this earth. Many young people agree with her, which is entirely misguided. My generation is being indoctrinated by a mainstream narrative to actually believe we have never seen prosperity. I know this first hand, I went to college, let’s just say I didn’t have the popular opinion, but I digress.

Why then, with all of the over- whelming evidence around us, evidence that I can even see sitting at a coffee shop, do we not view this as prosperity? We have people who are dying to get into our country. People around the world destitute and truly impoverished. Yet, we have a young generation convinced they’ve never seen prosperity, and as a result, elect politicians dead set on taking steps towards abolishing capitalism.

Why? My answer is this, my generation has only seen prosperity. We have no contrast. We didn’t live in the great depression, or live through two world wars, the Korean War, The Vietnam War or see the rise and fall of socialism and communism. We don’t know what it’s like to live without the internet, without cars, without smartphones. We don’t have a lack of prosperity problem. We have an entitlement problem, an ungratefulness problem, and it’s spreading like a plague."

    Mr Huckabee,

I just have a thought about biological males competing in female sports.
First, let me be clear that I believe it to be wrong in every way. But with that being said, from a female point of view, why should it matter? Are the females finally ready to admit that the feminist movement is wrong, females CANNOT physically compete with their male counterparts? Why does it seem they want it both ways? Just my two cents worth. Keep up the good work sir!
