Minnesota Senate candidate calls for investigation of Democratic AG candidate Keith Ellison

If a woman makes a sexual abuse allegation against a man and can’t supply evidence to prove it, then her claim should be rejected and the man presumed innocent.  Before anyone accuses me of being insensitive to Brett Kavanaugh’s accuser, please note: I’m not talking about her.  I’m quoting what the lawyer for accused DNC official and Minnesota Democratic AG candidate Keith Ellison had to say about the woman accusing him.

https://www.westernjournal.com/lawyer-no-proof-means-allegation-ellison-unsubstantiated/

Unfortunately for Ellison, Karin Housley, the Republican candidate for Senate in Minnesota, agreed with the Democrats (or at least with what they say when a Republican is accused): there should be an independent investigation.

Good news for Ms Housley: Ask and ye shall receive.

 Reason 1,001

From their condoning of violence and incivility to their shredding of due process to their embrace of socialism, it’s hard to imagine the Democrats could give Americans even one more another reason not to vote them back into power.  But they just did.

SNL makes fun of stereotype they helped create

The media are giving a lot of play to Matt Damon’s mocking of Brett Kavanaugh as an angry, drunken frat boy on “Saturday Night Live.” I already noted how others have pointed out the rank hypocrisy (Damon defended Harvey Weinstein from far worse and more verifiable allegations, and he once talked about how “scorched earth” he would go on anyone who falsely accused him of sexual abuse).  But here’s yet another take that digs even deeper into the steaming dung heap of hypocrisy represented by “SNL” attacking Kavanaugh for alleged “Animal House” style, drunken frat guy behavior when he was a college student in the ‘80s.

This article traces the history of that era of celebrating “sex, drugs and rock and roll,” and how the campaign to tear down and mock traditional, “uptight” moral standards was spearheaded by the National Lampoon and – anyone old enough to remember? – “Saturday Night Live!”  The two were inextricably entwined, with Lorne Michaels (still SNL’s producer today – it was his decision for “SNL” not even to mention the Weinstein accusations at first) stealing his cast and writers from the National Lampoon.  “SNL’s” early breakout star, John Belushi, actually starred in (to use its full name) “National Lampoon’s Animal House.”  If you remember the comic end credits, we learn that his wildman character, Bluto, is now a US Senator – and can we all agree that he’s probably a Democrat and now passing harsh judgement on the alleged college behavior of Republicans?

Today, with the “social justice warrior” left and the more radical elements of the MeToo movement bringing back the Salem witch trials and attempting to destroy people for sins that the left didn’t even consider sins at the time, “SNL” is desperately trying to appear “woke” and on the “safe” side of the culture war while hoping nobody remembers or holds them accountable for their role in creating the amoral, frat bro’ culture that they’re now attacking.

When I see “SNL” criticizing anyone for allegedly behaving like the characters in “Animal House,” all I can say is:  “REALLY?!”

 No Google, you aren't biased....

Sure, Google, we believe you when you claim that your search results aren’t biased.  But it would be a lot easier if your internal communications revealing your staff's stunningly one-sided lockstep leftism would quit leaking out to the public.

The latest example: Republican Rep. Marsha Blackburn tried to be nice to Google in a very reasonable op-ed opposing government regulation of Google as a public utility and urging Google executives to engage in more “reflection” about how to make sure their search engine fosters a fair and competitive free market of ideas.

A leaked email chain shows that key Google employees reacted to that by accusing Blackburn of making “theatrical demands” and calling her “a violent thug” and a “lying liar who lies” (is Google hiring 12-year-olds?)  One senior Google software engineer sniped, “I’m not big on negotiation with terrorists.”

Enjoy becoming a public utility, Google.

 Huck's Hero

A giant-sized Huck’s Hero salute to former Army Staff Sgt. Ronald Shurer II, America’s newest recipient of our highest military award, the Medal of Honor.  It was presented by President Trump at the White House on Monday.

The Alaska-born Shurer was an Army medic serving  in Afghanistan when militants attacked his team with machine guns, sniper rifles and rocket-propelled grenades.  From the linked story:

“Shurer stabilized one soldier, then fought his way through a barrage of bullets and up a mountain to the lead members of the unit. There, he treated and stabilized four more soldiers. Shurer helped evacuate them, carrying and lowering the wounded down the steep mountainside, using his body to shield them from enemy fire and shrapnel.  After he loaded the wounded in an evacuation helicopter, Shurer went back up the mountain to fight.”

He fought on with his team for over six hours, and as Trump noted, thanks to Shurer, not a single American died in that brutal battle.

Now, click the link to discover another amazing part of this story: what happened the first time Shurer tried to join the Army.

Signs We’ve Reached Peak Media Hysteria:

The “paper of record,” the New York Times, actually ran a breaking news story, reporting that a guy claims that Brett Kavanaugh once threw some ice at him in a bar after a rock concert in 1985.

Was it crushed ice or cubes?  Because if it was cubes, Democrats might be able to claim it was assault with a deadly weapon.

 Julie Swetnick

Julie Swetnick, the woman brought forward by porn star lawyer Michael Avenetti, hasn’t gotten much serious coverage for her claim that she attended 10 parties where a high school-aged Brett Kavanaugh took part in drugging and gang-raping teenage girls – understandably so, since she can’t explain why nobody else seems to remember that.  But she finally got her first network TV interview.  Even NBC had a hard time swallowing her story, noting that she backed away from her previous statements.  For instance, instead of claiming Kavanaugh spiked the drinks, she now recalls seeing him hanging around the punch bowl.  Well, if a teenage boy is standing near the punch bowl at a party, what else could he possibly be doing but laying the groundwork for a string of gang-rapes?

https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/nbc-news-sits-down-kavanaugh-accuser-julie-swetnick-but-cant-verify-claims-1148414

Meanwhile, Fox News’ Laura Ingraham scored the first interview with Swetnick’s former boyfriend, who says she exaggerated everything; she’s not credible; she threatened the life of him, his wife and his unborn child; and during their seven-year relationship, they talked intimately about everything, but she never once mentioned being gang-raped at a party.  He said, “Nobody knows Julie Swetnick better than me” and “I really don’t believe her.”

Grassley responds to Sanders

I’m glad to see that some Senate Republicans have grown a spine (Jeff Flake excepted) and are making it clear that anyone who tries to delay the Kavanaugh vote by lobbing false allegations will be referred to the Justice Department for appropriate criminal prosecution. This kind of irresponsible smear campaign has been allowed to go with no consequences for too long.

Also, a tip of the “Huckabee” show cap to Judiciary Committee Chairman Charles Grassley for his epic response to Bernie Sanders’ politicizing of the Kavanaugh nomination.  It’s a great example of turning the leftist Alinsky tactic of “making the other side live up to its own standards” against the left.  That’s harder with them because their moral standards change from moment-to-moment for the sake of political expediency, but Grassley did a brilliant job of using that to his advantage.

 Righteous rage

When Judge Brett Kavanaugh actually fought back instead of taking Sen. Mazie Hirono’s advice and just “shutting up” when he felt he was being slandered, he ruined their game plan.  But with the left, there’s always another game plan.  The first fallback position was to claim that because Kavanaugh got angry at having his reputation smeared and his family threatened, he doesn’t have the right “temperament” for the job (this from the same people who hold the august title of United States Senator and turned his confirmation hearing into a clown show.)

Polls are showing that a lot of Americans empathized with Kavanaugh’s righteous rage, so here’s fallback plan #2: he didn’t deserve due process rights because it wasn’t a trial, it was a “job interview.”  The obvious responses to that are (1.) yes, it was a trial, by fire, with a predetermined guilty verdict in a kangaroo court of public opinion, because that’s exactly what the Democrats turned it into; and (2.) if it was a “job interview,” then the very federal laws that Democrats backed would have prevented them from asking many of the intrusive questions that they did.  As long as we’re accusing public officials of crimes, let’s figure out how many labor regulations the Democrats broke by running Kavanaugh’s “job interview” the way they did.

 More Matt Damon

Democrats who tried to drag up old high school yearbooks to smear Brett Kavanaugh may learn to their sorrow that when they start digging up that notorious “permanent record,” there’s a lot of buried dirt that could be unearthed and thrown back in their faces.  For instance, Matt Damon, pal and defender of Harvey Weinstein, et al, probably thought he got back into liberal Hollywood’s good graces by portraying Brett Kavanaugh on the season premiere of “Saturday Night Live” as a beer-swinging rage-aholic because he got upset over the unsupported allegations against him.  Damon conveniently forgot what he’d said about how he’d react to being falsely accused of a sex crime.  He also forgot that the Internet is the biggest “permanent record” of all.  In his own words, it would be “scorched earth.”

 Polanski resurfaces

Roman Polanski announced plans for his first movie after the MeToo era finally forced Hollywood to stop giving him Oscars and standing ovations.  Ironically, it will be called “J’Accuse” and be about Captain Alfred Dreyfus, who spent five years in prison on Devil’s Island on a false accusation of treason before he cleared his name.  The article doesn’t say when it’s coming out, but Polanski must be betting that Democrats will be back in power by then, so that Hollywood liberals will have flipped their standards and they'll once again be against convicting people without evidence and in favor of giving Oscars and standing ovations to liberal directors who are actually guilty.

New study

A new study funded by the NIH found that kids’ brain functions improve when they get more exercise and sleep and spend less time staring at electronic screens.  Particularly if MSNBC is on the screens.

I agree with your last contributor's comment...let's have thorough back ground checks (back to high school) and see if any leaders in D.C can "pass the test" they want for Judge Kavanaugh! People can - and some do - change for the better.

    Hi Mike!
I am starting to believe that Dr. Ford is experiencing early onset Alzheimer’s!
Her lack of candor and her forgetfulness (especially not remembering if the polygraph was given on the day of her grandmother’s FUNERAL!) is very disturbing to me. I STILL remember my late father’s funeral on September 9, 2001, watching 9/11 live and my wedding in Wiamanalo, Oahu, Hawaii on July 18, 1993. I am 77 years old, and my mind is still sharp!

    Your comments are spot on!
I was thinking of emailing my Senator Dick Durbin this morning but thought about his career a not representing anyone but himself, and his wife’s work. Maybe the FBI should look into that conflict of interest.
About Trump and the IRS, his dads business, he/they were smart. Why should the IRS/ government take peoples hard earned money? Family money should stay in the family, they earned it!
As far as the SC Bret K was raised to be on the court for life and the people lieing should be prosecuted.

    Dear Mike,
In order to eliminate the venom which is poisoning our great nation, it is imperative that we “drain the swamp.” Draining the swamp must begin with the removal of the alligators who protect it.

There are two types of alligators living in the swamp.

The first are the bureaucrats working within the federal government. (As an aside, my definition of a bureaucracy is “a process which converts energy into solid waste”). They work hard to maintain the status quo, with their goal being first and foremost to protect their jobs. An honest set of performance standards with clearly defined positive and negative consequences must be adopted and enforced to clear out this type of alligator.

The second (and most dangerous) are our elected officials, Senators and Congress people alike. They appear to be motivated in many (if not most) cases by the following:
    • Personal gain;
    • Political expediency;
    • The interests of their constituents;
    • The morality of their positions.

Until these four factors’ order of importance is totally reversed, the swamp will continue to exist. Our election process must be bolstered by an unbiased and truthful free press (the fourth and unofficial branch of government) in order to allow the electorate to monitor the priorities of their elected officials.

    Don Hansen,

I am starting to think that the Democrat party wants to make sure all the information on anyone running for or appointed to a government office or position submit and place on record all interviews with class-mates for both high school and college years, and even their year books for all of those years. I would look forward to seeing their information. I wonder when that might be available. Oh, I forgot, that would include those who already hold office.
Sorry, just venting, and yes I do feel better now!

Listening to the radio on my way back from a Senior Expo, I was reminded of a talk given by Obama about his high school days and marijuana smoking (inhaling...that was the idea) and not having done much of anything worthwhile the last 2 years of high school. It was illegal back then more than now and considered worse for teenagers growing brains to smoke pot. Maybe that clouded his judgement on many things??? Perhaps the Supreme Court is the highest honor in the U.S. but in my humble opinion, the presidency should be above the Supreme Court because it affects all of us every day. By the way, the Senior Expo had lots of politicians among the promoters of health. I plan to vote absentee ballot for the state and local officials running which is even more important than it has ever been.

GOV. HUCKBEE THANKS FOR SHARING ABOUT THE STAFF SERGANT. HE IS A BIG HERO. WHAT HE DID WAS INCREDIBLE. IT'S HARD TO BELIEVE THAT HE WAS REJECTED THE FIRST TIME. HE REALLY MUST HAVE WANTED TO BE IN THE MILITARY TO ENLIST AND BE ACCEPTED. THE LADY WHO IS SAYING SHE WAS ASSAULTED BY JUDGE KAVANAUGH IS SHOWING HER TRUE COLORS. BETWEEN WHAT SHE SAYS DOESN'T SEEM RIGHT. THE CONFLICTS OF HER STORY AND NOW AN EX BOYFRIEND SPEAKS OUT. WHEN YOU'RE NOT TELLING THE TRUTH IT SHOWS UP. LIKE THEY SAY ALWAYS TELL THE TRUTH. Dennis Prager wrote in his column today (Oct 2, 2018) on leftist contempt for middle-class values (Explaining the Left, Part IV): “Why do leftists feel entitled do all these [unethical/illegal] things? Because they have thoroughly rejected middle-class, bourgeois and Judeo-Christian religious values. Leftists are the only source of their values.” Godly values and godly participation in our national choices is CRITICAL to our country's future! Whenever Judeo-Christian values are abandoned, and we start "doing our own thing," we abandon our American traditions of truth, justice and brotherly love. Without acknowledging this, we'll continue to progressively spin out of control. These are the perilous times that were predicted long ago.

How our country has sunk to the lowest level possible. I am thankful to know that one say the only person who can clean up this mess is the Lord Jesus Christ. I have noted recently a number of bill boards that simply say YOU WILL MEET GOD !!!!! I am praying for Judge Kavanaugh and his family. I trust that his conformation will be forth coming. I am impressed with his 30 years as a judge. His impeccable record stands for itself. IT IS HIGH TIME THAT WE HAVE A PERSON ON THE HIGHEST COURT IN THE LAND WHO SUPPORTS THE LAW OF THE LAND ,THE CONSTITUTION!!! I pray that my 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren will be able to grow up in land where the democrats do not have ANY control.

Thank goodness the Chairman has finally decided to fight back against these democrats who are breaking every rule in the book to "get" our president and his current choice for the Supreme court. Now if something could be done about Maxine Waters who won't stop until someone gets killed. This woman is so vicious, I can't believe there's nothing anyone can do about her. If I were perpetrating this kind of savage abuse on the democrats I'd probably be arrested. How can she continue to get away with it? Certainly there are laws about this that are being ignored.
