When the New York Times published its expose on “American spies” handing over a cash down payment of $100,000 for stolen NSA cyberweapons (otherwise known as “hacking tools”), along with a promise of dirt on President Trump that the spies claimed not to want, its look into the shadowy world of international espionage provided a look –- perhaps inadvertent –- into the shady and questionable nature of information given to the FBI by Christopher Steele.

In my mind, the question becomes –- and so far I haven’t heard anyone else ask this –- “If our CIA and NSA had good reason to distrust information from Russian sources about Donald Trump, how could our own FBI trust the unverified material handed over by Christopher Steele, which had origins just as dicey?” (I’d argue that they might even have been dicier, as much of that “dossier” may have originated not from Russians at all, but from longtime Hillary henchmen such as Sidney Blumenthal and Cody Shearer.) Answer: they couldn’t, and yet they used it front-and-center in their application to the FISA court to spy on Trump campaign advisor Carter Page –- who says he’s never even spoken with Trump --- and, by extension, other members of the campaign team.

Bears Ears Update

By Mike Huckabee

Remember when environmentalists went berserk over President Trump rolling back Obama’s massive land grab, when he designated 1.35 million acres of Utah (over 1-1/2 times the size of Rhode Island) as the Bears Ears National Monument? One prominent environmental leader declared, “Trump’s unprecedented, illegal action is a brutal blow to our public lands, an affront to Native Americans and a disgrace to the presidency. He wants to hand over these lands to private industry to mine, frack, bulldoze and clear-cut until there’s nothing left for our children and grandchildren.”

So, has that land been strip-mined and paved over yet? Nope, not a hair on a bear's ear has been disturbed. And it doesn’t look as if it’s going to be, anytime soon.

Remembering James Foley

By Mike Huckabee

During the time when ISIS was running roughshod over the Middle East, one of their most shocking acts was the videotaped beheading of journalist James Foley. He was just one of at least 27 victims of their savage beheadings.

Well, thank God for how times have changed. The ISIS barbarians are now on the run, but they’re not getting away. Two of the most notorious militants believed to be responsible for Foley’s murder have been captured in Syria.

Turning the Tide

By Mike Huckabee

Dumbing Down Detergent Dept: Two New York legislators want to pass a law requiring that Tide Pods be changed to look less appetizing, to quell the current Internet fad of morons eating them on camera. Being New York politicians, they naturally believe that the blame lies with greedy corporations. They say Tide is putting profits over safety by making their product look too much like a giant gummy bear – you know, the kind of gummy bear that already has a big label on it warning people not to swallow it because it’s detergent, which is POISONOUS.

They might better utilize their legislative powers to improve the public schools, but a better-educated public would probably wash away their reelection prospects.

Blue wave?

By Mike Huckabee

Do Americans really vote based on their pocketbooks? If so, a new Quinnipiac University poll comparing how Americans feel about Trump’s economy and their own financial situations compared to Obama’s economy suggests that the only way Democrats will savor a “blue wave” this year will be if they eat Tide Pods.

New Eastwood film

By Mike Huckabee

This weekend, Clint Eastwood’s new film, “The 15:17 to Paris,” opens, and I’m looking forward to seeing it even more than I do most of Clint’s movies. He does something so daring that few directors a third of his age would try it: he tells the true story of the three young Americans, two of them military vets, who were vacationing in Europe in 2015 when they stopped a terrorist attack on a train – only they are played not by Hollywood actors but by the three heroes who actually lived it. None of them had any acting experience at all, but Clint worked with them to help them be themselves on camera, and recreated it all so realistically that they say it was like living through it a second time, only on film.

The movie is getting mixed reviews, but I can tell I want to see it (and upset Hollywood liberals by boosting its opening weekend take) simply from the type of bad reviews it’s getting. They’re the kind that include backhanded putdowns about it depicting a positive, heroic image of Christian American military people. Oh, the horror! Except it’s the absolutely true story of three Christian American military people who are genuine heroes. Sorry Clint didn’t work in some leftwing, anti-American messages for the critics, but maybe he decided he’d rather make a good film that tells the truth than get nominated for an Oscar.

Mike, NYS motives and machinations are not hard to understand. It is all about greed and how many times you can tax a corporation, a tax payer, even a bag of dog food. This law against Tide pods has nothing to do with protecting brain-dead consumers, but it has everything to do with fines and lawsuits and other forms of extortion. We don't call our state thr Vampire State for no reason! And I would like your readers to know that there are a lot of really good, kind, generous people left in New York but we're all looking for an escape hatch!
