Over the weekend, the media continued their “bleep-storm” of outrage over what President Trump allegedly said about some nations from which we accept a lot of immigrants not exactly being paradises on Earth. They immediately twisted that alleged comment into a blatant display of racism, but pushback on that has also started rising. Some of the more interesting comments included pointing out that South Korea and North Korea have the exact same racial makeup, but only one is obviously a…well, you know. Most people understand that that appellation is something created by horrible governments, not by a nation’s people.

Eddie Scarry at the Washington Examiner listed some liberal celebrities who claimed they would leave America if Trump won (none did) and the nations to which they threatened (or promised) to move. They included France, Canada, Australia and Spain. He noted that none said they would move to El Salvador. Guess they must think it’s a…well, you know.

I would add that it’s interesting how, just one day before liberals went ballistic at Trump allegedly badmouthing places like El Salvador, they were blasting Trump for wanting Salvadorans who’ve been here for over a decade on temporary visits to go home. They protested that it would be cruel and inhumane to send them back to El Salvador because that country is a…well, you know.

Meanwhile, another question has arisen: is all this hooha over something that might be fake news? It was first reported in the Washington Post, but there's a reason why, when Steven Spielberg wanted to make a puff piece about the Post’s journalistic integrity, he had to make it a period piece set 48 years ago. That was not the Jeff Bezos-owned, anonymous source-citing, “we’ll run any rumor/alleged leak that makes Trump look bad” WaPo of today. So just because the Post ran the story about what Trump allegedly said behind closed doors, that doesn’t mean he actually said it.

In fact, even after they were able to name a source – Sen. Dick Durbin – that still cited no reliable source. Durbin is not only a member of the rabid anti-Trump brigade who had good reason to play the “racism” card to deflect attention from Trump’s rejection of his Gang of Six DACA bill, he also has a history of claiming incendiary things were said in closed-door meetings with Presidents that other attendees and the White House denied were ever said – and I’m talking about the Obama White House.

Govenor Huckabee, I live in a small town in Maine. (east millinocket, north central Maine.) I've prayed much about our "gov" too stop playing like they are broke. I'm retired (75 and a vietnam vet) and I receive $2000.00 a month, the "gov" gave me a whopping raise, lets see now,I was geting in 2017, 2111.00 of that, MY part "B" was 111.00, and this year 2018 I got a raise, lets see now, I'm getting 2154.00 MY part "B" is now134.00 and now I GET 2020.00. All I can say is, let our sen. & congress live on my pay and give me theirs. My President was put in office by GOD, My prayer now is that GOD will show Mr. President how to give raises too retired people. Thank you for reading this.

If these senators etc. want to jump on our President about calling these nations S###Holes then they should go to these places and try to get that government change in how they run that nation. Why should we continue taking in people who can't come in taking the proper steps to enter. It make no difference who calls who what, just do what is best for the U.S.A. GOD BLESS THIS NATION AND ITS PEOPLE

Dear Governor,. I am so tired of my intelligence being insulted. The senator screaming "hate" when he has already done more to divide the country in the last two days than President Trump did with one little word, even if President Trump slipped and said this word. They have videos of former presidents saying the same thing and no one got bent out of shape! And Governor, can you really be an illegal citizen and fight in our military, be an EMT, a policeman and other professions as that senator stood up and screamed in front of the cameras this morning on CBS? How dare us not accept them? Please tell President Trump not to give in, we are behind him 100%. Why should they get free housing, food, schooling, medical aid and all that while we hard working citizens cannot afford these things, especially to send our children to college. They have had years to get legal, why all the fuss now? Because someone has enough guts to say enough is enough. Look at each case, give them a period of time to get legal or bye bye.

Sen. Durbin has violated the confidential nature of private, non-public meetings, among people involved with public policy-making. I was a lobbyist for the banking industry in DC for decades and was in many private meetings with leaders of the Congress, the Administration and other stakeholders where intense, often frustrating, conversations about controversial proposed laws and regulations occurred. It was not unusual for a public official to be so flustered that expletives Dr. Spock of Star Trek fame once characterized as "colorful metaphors" would be verbally expressed. Anyone in those meetings could have reported to the news media about what was said, but we did not in respect for the confidential nature of the sessions. The vast majority of our nation's lobbyists work hard to represent the concerns of our nation's citizens, and they do their jobs by providing policy-makers with reliable information and maintaining confidentiality. Sen. Durbin has proven that he cannot be trusted by alleging publicly that the President made some crude comment about some third world nations during a private meeting. Doing so effectively distracted attention from the current public debate on the budget and immigration issues. Why did he do this? Sen. Durbin is a long-time veteran of public-policy wars on Capitol Hill and thus has likely been in many similar tense private discussions when such language has entered the conversation, but he has refrained from running to the media with revelations about those discussions in the past. I suspect his motivation was to embarrass the President in the belief that by throwing him under the bus public opinion would be swayed toward his position. My read of the situation is that Durbin's calculated tactic has not worked for him because it appears that the principals of both sides have dug their heels in deeper and the immigration remedy might end up being withdrawn from the budget vehicle the Democrat leadership was counting on using. Perhaps that was his ultimate objective. At the least, Sen. Durbin has shown he cannot be trusted and will probably not be invited to any future private meetings with the President, which can result in his effectiveness as a leader of the opposition marginalized. Unless his purpose was to kill any remedy to immigration at this time and become a persona non-grata with the White House as a consequence, he did not help further the public debate on the issue.

I would be so refreshing to see our Senators and Congressmen actually doing the work we elected them to do. This is just another example of them NOT doing what they get paid to do. They can take their "outrage" over something President Trump did or did not say and GTFO as far as I'm concerned. Maybe they need to go home and get themselves a real job and pay their own insurance premiums like the rest of us do and get the same health care they've inflicted on us, and try to live on their social security payments while new Senators and Congressmen call them "entitlements" rather than the money we've contributed to "their" system our entire working lives. Just Wow!

Well said Govenor: I have traveled the planet extensively. I believe too that the sh.. hole remark is not a racial slur. It in fact a testimony that a lot of poorly managed countries, w/ severe chronic issues w/ lack of infrastucture/ lack of basic needs including food/ lack of medical care/ & a lack of concern for their own people puts them into the sh.. hole category. It's sad but it is a fact.

My husband and myself are registered Democrats but we vote for who we feel is the best for president. We voted for President Trump and we are his supporters. Please pass on to him that we have his back. We are ashamed at how the Democrats are treating Trump. I felt that President Trump being elected was controlled by Jesus Christ. He has chosen Trump to help the United States be whole again. I felt President Trump's election was a miracle from God. No matter what the Democrats try to do God will be with Trump and the Democrats will not succeed. I do have a concern. We are on Social Security and we were supposed get a cost of living raise this year. They raised the Part B Medicare and took the increase for that. I don't call that a cost of living raise since we did not have access to that money. We need more money for every day expenses, food, heat, clothing, etc. When they give you an increase, they increase Part B.

I wonder how upset the American people would be if they really knew the true cost of immigrates coming here. It seems they get more benefits then our own poor and working people. Also we have sent funds to those nations and they just waste it away. At what point in time do we stop and take a hard look at what is happening.

    Dear Mike,
Just again want to say thank you for all you do keeping us informed! My husband is from Nigeria he was living in Austria when I met him. It took us 5 years to get him here and roughly 8.000 dollars. He has never asked or received our governments help. Always working 2 jobs until he obtained his CDL and now is a truck driver.
He is from Nigeria and he called me the other day and said I am from Nigeria, and Trump is right it is a S___hole! Nigeria has oil, but the govt there sends it to other countries to be refined, instead of creating jobs for Nigerian people. They never have a steady supply of electricity, most have no running water in the villages, no healthcare, no money, no treatment. We have had to send money to Nigerai when his family gets sick so they can get treatment. Then in northern Nigeria you have the Boko Haram killing Christians. Nigeria has lots of resources but the people their don't get to benefit from it.
    Thanks Darlene

Moving to vetting system similar to Canada makes a lot of sense for immigration. However, I do not think the government should be deciding from what country the person comes from. That should be left up to Companies who will chose the most qualified person and let Washington do the vetting. This is important as we do not have enough skilled people to meet future demand.

Like I stated on facebook - unless you have been to these countries you have no idea what they are like. I do not mean a guided tour, I mean stay awhile and get to know the country like several other military people and I did. Also I said that Haiti is not only a ( unmentionable) But if (unmentionable) is the perfect 10 then Haiti is a -10 on that scale. Again don't contradict what you do not know. But the most politicians do exactly that.

In reference to Tom Rowe, a truly gifted media personality, I am reminded of a perfidious group of early pilgrims that inhabited England and fled to America. They called themselves the "Know Nothings" and they were responsible for many outrages. Look them up in a real History book...if you can find one. Their legacy unfortunately lives on the the blue halls of Swampington DC

I'm so sick of Trump's become a way of life for a lot of people. Does he say what he thinks? Yes! I appreciate someone who speaks his mind, and let the chips fall where they may. I'm also sick of the Obama worship..he divided this country, apologized to everyone on the earth, and bowed to the Egyptians. He was and is the worst President we ever had. Just my opinion...Bill Clinton "rapist" in chief wasn't far behind. Thanks for letting me rant!

I live in El Salvador. It is heaven on earth, as our ambassador, Jean Manes will tell you, for those of us who don't have to struggle to survive.
I have argued with people who just blindly repeated what the Washington Post said. I think POTUS was talking about the place, but he knows that, as Dr. Edgar Lopez Beltran, Jr., said in a sermon, it's the inhabitants or "habitantes" that make a place, not those who govern, the "gobernantes". He encouraged his church to prove POTUS wrong. El Salvador has some of the most beautiful beaches, flowers, trees, lakes, rivers, mountains and volcanoes, as well as some of the hardest-working and most attractive people on earth, but they tend to judge books by their covers because they don't have time to read much. Argentina chose Evita Peron, an attractive blonde actress who threw money out her window and went around kissing babies. Argentina has suffered the consequences for decades. Yes, her husband was elected but she was the one they chose. I hope you, Gov. Huckabee, will visit El Salvador, my home since 1973. Mine is too humble a home to offer you a place to stay, but I will gladly accompany you as you travel around a place with very few huge concrete-block hotels and casinos but lots of natural beauty. Many foreigners, including Paul Walker from Fast and Furious, have visited and loved El Salvador. There are probably more college graduates here than in some southern states like Arkansas, my home, and Alabama, where my best friend lives.

Where were all these people in the 8 years of the former administration when he said the United States isn't or is no longer a Christian nation , when he apologized to Japan , said the people of the United States would have to give up some of their Christian ways? I may not be quoting exactly word for word what was said but it's close enough. How about when it was said that Muslims built our country. That's a bunch of nonsense .

I am somewhat disappointed and yet not surprised that none of those celebrities who promised to leave has done so, at least none that I know of.

How much better off we would be if those who promised to leave America if Trump won had blessed us by leaving. I am already praying for the next president to be one blessed by God, so America will be strong enough to keep standing. The Lord has blessed us when we deserved no blessing, so we had better stand strong for what's right in Gods sight, and never backtrack to please those who are plainly evil. Trump has been a strong man to keep plowing on ,and only a man like that could have done what he has done. I often wonder if he wishes he hadn't even gotten tangled up in the mess America is in.

IF the President said what all the leftist media has relished repeating over the past four days . . . SO WHAT?! What does that have to do with the terms of an agreement on DACA? I do not believe the President is a racist---BUT WHAT IF HE WERE? What does that have to do with the terms of an agreement on DACA??

Trying to tie these two wild assertions to the process of negotiating a deal on DACA, ending chain migration and the visa lottery, and funding the wall is the same old, worn-out, inflammatory strategy to cloud the issue at hand that Democrats are famous for. Wake up America and get smart Republicans!

Mike, I find it interesting that these people ( congressmen and women) go into 'private' meetings, not to try to get things done that they were elected to do, but simply to try to find some little tidbit of dirt that will make the president look bad. They immediately go out and tattle to the press or anyone who might help them spread their dirt, just to start another uproar against President Trump. It's appalling to think that these are supposed to adults, grown-ups, who represent the people of this country!! They didn't seem to have a problem when then vice president Biden blurted out, on live TV yet, that "this is a big f**king deal" over the Obamacare bill!!! Or when Lindsay Graham called the same places 'hellholes' over and over and over! They might as well be kindergarteners running home to mommy crying that another kid hurt their feelings!

With representatives like these, we don't need enemies!

The problem I see most of the tome with the liberal way of thinking is this. 1. Talk louder and longer than anyone else until they give up trying to get a word in and you have won the argument. They may have not stated any actual facts, they just figure they won because someone gave up on trying to talk to a fence post. Also, I called it an argument because in a discussion both sides are heard and even you get a word in edgewise it is never heard by the liberal, which brings me to my second point. 2. The liberal comes into the argument with the attitude that they do not wish to be confused with facts, their mind is already made up. 3. The liberal, with all their demands and fit throwing, never follows through with their promise. They threaten a lot, but never do what they say they will do, evidence which is not hard to prove if all you do is look at congress. You know what is really the problem? Hearts turned from God. Down through the ages of biblical and secular history it is not hard to see that every time a society has turn from God you get this kind of foolishness until finally God says "enough is enough". I fear our country has found its way to that point and I pray for Gods intervention on His way to do things and someone leading who acknowledges that doing things Gods way is the best way. Too much pride in the heart of man right now. It's way past time to humble ourselves before God and let Him do it His way.

I'm a news junkie, I'm old enough to remember news films shown in the cafeteria of my grade school with Walter Cronkite, telling us the news of the month. I remember the civil defense drills, duck and cover under the desk while the teacher pulled the blackout curtains close. The Cuban Missile Crisis could be compared to North Korea today. The Fourth Estate as they are referred to in England, has become the Left Estate here in the USA. We as Americans deserve that we get the news of the day correctly with honesty and integrity, that we don't have to filter the news and come to our on conclusions. Today the Market hit 26,000 with the Trump economy, will they give him the credit, probably will down play it and put all of our 401K's at risk. They should be liable for any mis-information they deliver to the public.

I am wanting to know that if these countries are such blooming metropolitans why do their citizens not move back there after getting their degrees or earning money or sucking our social system dry? If Haiti, Africa, South America are such gardens of delight, then move back home. If you can't it just might be because the money Americans sent to clean up those countries was misused. Mr. Trump was one of the few who donated directly his money (before he became President) to make Haiti a place to return to. Go home if all is so good......

Hawaii Incident - It's too bad that the person who accidentally pushed the wrong button is being demonized and made a scape goat. The real culprits are the people who designed, implemented, and authorized a system that allowed only one person to inadvertently issue the warning message. A system as vital as that should require at least two people to initiate it and should also have a means to rescind it in a timely fashion. Hopefully the people in power have learned a lasting lesson. Poorly designed systems can cause unintended consequences. Just like poorly designed laws, regardless of any good intentions, can have unintended consequences. Thankfully no loss of life resulted.
