Robert Mueller has ticked off a lot of people.

It wasn’t enough for Democrats and the media (but I repeat myself) that he gave them the gift of what was essentially a 200- page “addendum” to the report on Trump/Russia collusion to allow for more investigation into so-called obstruction. Those who hate the President wouldn’t have been satisfied with anything less than a vicious, scathing, total condemnation of Trump as an agent of Vladimir Putin, a traitor to the United States who should be immediately impeached, convicted and hung out to dry.

As Piers Morgan has said, Mueller was supposed to be “the savior, the man on the white horse, riding into town to take down President Trump.” The left can’t forgive him for essentially letting Trump off the hook on “collusion,” even though he didn’t have the evidence to indict. (Some of them are in such denial that they’re pretending he DID find collusion.) So now Mueller is getting a taste of the very wrath that led to his appointment as special counsel in the first place.

Warren calls for cancelling student debt

By Mike Huckabee

Democratic Presidential hopeful Sen. Elizabeth Warren called for cancelling the student loan debt of about 42 million Americans.  Before you young people start celebrating, you should realize that it would cost the government about $640 billion.  Since the government is already running deficits, that would have to be piled on top of the $22 trillion national debt.  And guess who is responsible for that debt?  You are!

Congratulations: you just learned more about politics than you did when you went deep in debt getting that poli-sci degree.

Herman Cain removes his name from consideration

By Mike Huckabee

Herman Cain has removed his name from consideration for a place on the Federal Reserve Board.  At the link, he explains why.

https://www.westernjournal.com/trump-says-herman-cain-asked-removed-consideration-federal-reserve-board/

A large part of it has to do with all the things he’d have to give up just to take a lower-paying public service position.  Trust me, I sympathize.

It’s a shame to lose someone with his business experience and strong advocacy for capitalism, which are sorely needed at the Fed.  But as he notes, the background check involved his entire career being “picked over like a carcass” and everything he ever wrote being microscopically examined to see if he ever said anything “controversial.”  If he hadn’t, I’d be worried about him.  Plus, we’d already seen people starting to emerge from the woodwork to sully his reputation.

This is a prime example of how the partisan crucible of fire is convincing people with valuable real-world experience to steer clear of accepting any position in Washington as it were an iceberg and they were the Titanic II.  It threatens to destroy the Founders’ concept of citizen legislators and non-career public servants, leaving us with a government entirely in the hands of DC-bred, professional political animals who have, since the cradle, carefully avoided saying or doing anything “controversial” by never actually saying or doing anything. No wonder so many business laws and regulations that come out of Washington sound as if they were written by people who’ve never even run a lemonade stand: it's because they haven’t.

Sarah's response

By Mike Huckabee

If you knew my daughter Sarah, you’d know she’s able to speak for herself, so here are her comments on the attack on her by CNN’s April Ryan (last seen accusing me of fomenting violence that will keep me out of Heaven because I quoted her own words accurately.)

https://www.westernjournal.com/sarah-sanders-fires-back-cnn-analyst-suggesting-head-lopped-off/

Incidentally, since Sarah used the phrase “I think it’s time to move on,” this would be a good place to hand out the Huck's Hypocrite Award (for Tuesday.)  It goes to the leftist activist group MoveOn.org, which is pressuring Democrats to impeach Trump for obstruction of justice (even though he was cleared of colluding with Russia and did not obstruct the investigation).  Did they forget that MoveOn.org was founded in 1998 to pressure Congress to “move on” and NOT impeach Bill Clinton after he was exposed as being guilty of lying under oath to try to obstruct justice?  You'd think their own name might serve as a reminder for them.

https://twitchy.com/dougp-3137/2019/04/19/so-damn-funny-just-guess-what-groups-demanding-start-of-impeachment-proceedings-against-trump/

I get the feeling their bedrock principles “move on” to an entirely different position every time there’s a change in leadership from Democrat to Republican or back again. I suggest that it’s time for thinking Americans to move on from paying any attention to them whatsoever.

Confusion on the border

By Mike Huckabee

I believe in cutting people slack for making an honest mistake, and I’d like to think that Mexican troops made an honest mistake when they disarmed two US Army soldiers who were helping with border security.  They were on the US side of the border, but the Mexican troops claim they mistakenly thought they were on Mexican soil.  Turns out they were south of the security perimeter but north of the border.  The Army soldiers should be commended for keeping cool and not letting the situation escalate.

Now, having cut said slack, I want a full investigation and better training for Mexican troops to insure that this kind of “mistake” won’t ever happen again.

Say, you know what would clear up all this confusion?  How about putting a wall on the border!

Sri Lanka update

By Mike Huckabee

Updates on the horrific Easter Sunday terrorist suicide bomb attacks at churches, hotels and a shrine in Sri Lanka:

The death toll has risen to 321, with over 500 injured.  The dead include at least four Americans.

https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/at-least-four-americans-confirmed-killed-in-sri-lanka-bombings

ISIS is taking “credit” for it, but there’s no evidence yet that they were actually behind it.  It appears certain that it was carried out by a local radical Islamist group.  And despite what the agreed-upon vague euphemism from the left might be, the victims killed in churches were not “Easter worshipers.”  Christians don’t worship Easter.  The victims in the Christian churches were Christians who were worshiping Christ when they were murdered by radical Islamists.

That’s not “hate speech.”  It’s the simple truth. How do they expect anyone to trust them to fight it when they can’t even admit what we’re fighting?

At the link is a video of an interview I gave to Fox News on this story.  I warn you: I do not indulge in any fuzzy weasel words to try to pretty up the ugly truth.

Pelosi outrage

By Mike Huckabee

Nancy Pelosi was outraged that anyone would think the President shouldn’t have been given the chance to review the charges in the special counsel’s report in advance so that he could prepare a response that would be released as part of the report.

Oh, I’m sorry, wrong year: she was outraged in 1998 at the idea of preventing President Clinton from reviewing the Starr Report in advance.  She’s now even more outraged at the idea that President Trump would have been given a chance to review the Mueller report in advance, even though that was legally necessary to make sure his attorneys approved the redactions.

A Republican alternative to Obamacare

By Mike Huckabee

One issue on which I have been critical of my fellow Republicans is Obamacare.  They ran on a promise to repeal and replace it, failed to keep that promise when they had the power, and still haven’t offered a replacement plan.  Meanwhile, Democrats are charging leftward down the field, promising “Medicare For All,” another government program that would take away control and choice from consumers while spending trillions of dollars the government doesn’t have (they promise that “millionaires and billionaires” will pay for it, but even they don’t have that much money – and I hate to break this news to Bernie Sanders, but there’s no such thing as “trillionaires.”)

So hats off to Louisiana Republican Sen. Bill Cassidy, who tells Breitbart News that he is working on his own market-based alternative plan that would both lower medical costs and make pricing more transparent (that would end “surprise billing,” such as an example he gave of a patient who was billed $18,000 for a urine test.) It’s modeled on the successful CHIP program that provides affordable health insurance for children, and it would be run by the states, with each state given flexibility to create a version that works best for its own citizens.  More details are at this link:

https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2019/04/18/exclusive-bill-cassidy-designing-republican-federalist-healthcare-plan/

Cassidy is a doctor himself, with a background in setting up medical clinics to provide free health care and vaccinations to low income patients, and emergency care for Hurricane Katrina victims.  He believes that a plan based on a program that’s already successful might garner some bipartisan support.

I suspect it won’t garner as much support from Democrats as he hopes, since too many of today’s most vocal Congressional Democrats seem far less interested in creating market-based, affordable health care that citizens control than in taking over health care and have Washington control it. But Republicans need to have their own viable plan for voters to compare to “Medicare For All,” and Cassidy is on the right track.

(I should note that some liberals are saying Cassidy should just keep quiet because he’s already been tainted by attacks from Jimmy Kimmel.  That would be convincing if you believe that late night comedians who get their talking points from Chuck Schumer’s twitter feed know more about how to provide affordable medical care than a doctor with a history of founding free clinics.)

Unlike fans of federal control of everything, I believe in giving people a choice.  Let’s see a Republican plan before the 2020 election, and let the voters decide whether they want health coverage that they control and tailor to their needs, or a budget-busting/tax-raising/one-size-fits-all/one authority-makes-all-your-health-decisions-for-you plan.  If they’re smart enough to opt for the former, then maybe it won’t be necessary after 2020 to gain a lot of bipartisan Democratic support to get it past the House and a 60-vote margin in the Senate.

Brother Mike, please , please, please no more comments on the Mueller thingy! It has simply been a daily promotion for the Democrats in their 2020 Presidential campaign. Every-time you , Rush, Sean, Tucker etc. report on it you all are simply donating free publicity to the Progressive cause. You are not going to change anyone's mind or intimidate any deep staters because their minds are already made up and they are quite protected where they are.

Ralph Waldo Emerson said that “You become what you think about all day long.” And what you think about you talk about. There needs to be more talk about Muslims killing Christians and why "those people" don't condemn the religious jihad and especially more talk about the plight of the natural family which is the foundation of America, or at least it should be. As a matter of fact most of the issues that are going on in today's America seem to be directly related to attempts to destroy the natural family = one biological born man and one woman in a lifelong, monogamous, committed relationship with their biological/and or adopted children. How about we start talking about a Defend the Natural Family act in Congress, Amen? Can you imagine what would happen if we spent just half the time talking about this issue as we do on bogus reports.

As goes the family so goes the nation and in case you haven't noticed, things are not going very well at the moment in
America for either. Ok I'm done now so you can get back to your Mueller mania if you so wish.
