The Cheesy Story of the day...

May 23, 2016 |

And now for a really cheesy story: According to the Wall Street Journal online, America is so full of cheese that every man, woman and child would have to eat three extra pounds of it to eliminate the surplus. Of course, we know that if we did that, Michelle Obama would have a cow. On the bright side, we could then start an alternative nutritional program called “Let's Mooo!"

America’s milk producers are the dairy best --- so good that they’re producing a record amount of milk this year. Much of it is unloaded to cheesemakers at dramatically lower prices. (“Blessed are the cheesemakers…”)

America also has surplus quantities of beef, pork, poultry, wheat and corn. My first thought is that this could really benefit commercial freezer manufacturers. Who knew the problem with Americans is that we’re just not eating enough? If you think this is a pretty gouda story, click here for more details.

Farm prices have plunged, watch for increased bankruptcies among farmers in 2017. Prices are lower than cost of production and have most substantial income props from farming!
