TRANSCRIPT SHOWS OBAMA KNEW ABOUT FBI TARGETING FLYNN
It always defied logic to think President Obama wasn’t in the loop when it came to the “Trump/Russia” investigation and the targeting of Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn. And now, a just-released document confirms that he was. This knowledge comes from an unexpected source, then-deputy Attorney General Sally Yates, in the “302” notes from her interview with the FBI during the special counsel investigation. These notes were filed by the Justice Department on Wednesday with Sidney Powell’s motion to dismiss charges against Flynn.
The plot turns on that now-infamous January 5, 2017, meeting in the Oval Office. President-elect Donald Trump would be taking office on January 20, and Flynn would be “ambushed” at his new White House digs on January 24. On January 4, the day before the White House meeting, FBI investigators had notified top FBI officials that they were dropping the Flynn investigation, as nothing incriminating (“derogatory”) had been found. Having the target turn up clean seems like an excellent reason for closing a case, but FBI official Peter Strzok had immediately notified them to keep it open, as the “7th Floor” –- Director Comey and other top-tier officials –- was involved.
The only reason Strzok would’ve had to keep the case open was so they could connive their way into a surprise interview with Flynn, challenge his memory of something they already knew, and get him to “lie” about something that was absolutely in his purview to do, Logan Act or no Logan Act. The whole idea of him “lying” to them was a joke, as he knew from his experience in intel that any phone conversation with a foreign ambassador would’ve been recorded.

VE-DAY
It’s easy to lose track of the days when you’re locked down for weeks and the news is all coronavirus all the time, but we must not overlook that today is the 75th anniversary of VE Day, or Victory in Europe Day. That was the date in 1945 when Germany formally surrendered to Allied Forces, ending World War II in Europe.
For those who think we’re currently living through the worst times ever, there is an excellent reminder of the terrible toll that war took in Europe and what VE Day meant to those who lived through it. Appropriately enough, it’s at the Victory Girls blog.
"NO GOOD DEED GOES UNTAXED" DEPT.
For all of those swooning over what a marvelous job New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo has done in dealing with the coronavirus, I have two points:
1. Do some more research.
2. Note that he’s actually trying to blackmail the federal government into bailing out New York by taxing volunteers who came from other states to help New Yorkers with the coronavirus. Under state law, if you work in New York for more than 14 days, you have to pay state income tax on what you earned during that period. Cuomo is demanding that people who volunteered their time and risked their lives pay New York taxes on any money they earned (even if they were paid back in their home states.) Yes, that includes the volunteers of the Christian charity Samaritan’s Purse, who have already been “thanked” for setting up a free hospital by being slandered and told to go home by the New York City Council Speaker. Even worse than the tax bill is all the compliance with the layers of blue state tax paperwork. Talk about biting the hand that heals you!
When asked about waiving the tax, Cuomo refused, saying, “So there’s a lot of good things I would like to do, and if we get federal funding, we can do, but it would be irresponsible for me to sit here looking at a $13 billion deficit and say I’m gonna spend more money, when I can’t even pay the essential services. We are in dire financial need.”
I would point out that New York didn’t have to pay for some essential services, like that Samaritan's Purse hospital, because the volunteers they’re trying to punish provided it for free. If New York is going to tax them for working there for free, maybe they should send New York a bill for the work they did for the state and tell them to withhold the taxes from that.
For the record, New York has already received a vast amount of federal aid and is eligible for more, but Republicans in DC don’t want to bail out blue states for longstanding debts that are the result of bad policies unrelated to the coronavirus. Also, I’d like to call your attention to the way Cuomo described not taxing money away from volunteer workers as him “spending money.” Why, it’s almost as if liberals believe that all the money belongs to them, and if they’re feeling generous, they might let you keep a little of your own paycheck.
In fact, it’s always been exactly like that everywhere, but this may be the most outrageous example of it so far.
HATE SPEECH IN SAN ANTONIO
The City Council of San Antonio, one of several big city pockets of wacky liberalism in the great state of Texas, passed a resolution declaring the phrase “Chinese virus” to be a “hate speech” term. Texas Sen. Ted Cruz quite rightly blasted the resolution as “nuts,” which they probably also consider to be a hate speech term.
Around here, we refer to it as the COVID-19 (Chinese) virus, because that gives the delicate sensibility crowd the meaningless technical term they like, while also identifying exactly where it came from (China), just as the terms Ebola and German measles tells us where those diseases originated. Claiming that “Chinese virus” is hate speech is like claiming that “Mexican food” is hate speech. It just tells you where it came from. I would have used the example of “Chinese food,” but the Chinese food we know is nothing like what they actually eat in China, and bringing up that subject might make the San Antonio City Council fall on their fainting couches.
"ASIAN MURDER HORNETS"
As if we didn’t have enough to worry about, the media are trying to convince us that we’re under attack by “Asian Murder Hornets,” which surprisingly is neither a motorcycle gang nor a rock band (but I bet it will soon be both.) They’re actually large hornets with a really scary name. But here’s something to ease your anxiety, unless you’re a beekeeper.
Oh, I should probably warn you that the bug experts in the article say that if there’s a real “murder insect” out there, it’s mosquitoes, but people don’t think twice about them. Well, just wait until the media start calling them “Murder Mosquitoes” and blaming them on Trump.
Bible Verse of the Day (KJV)
And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
