Pipe Bombs

October 25, 2018

President Trump spoke out in blunt terms, condemning the rash of mailings of pipe bombs to prominent figures on the left, tweeting that “these cowardly actions are despicable and have no place in this country,” and vowing that federal law enforcement will take all appropriate actions to find whoever is responsible and hold them accountable to the full extent of the law.

A reminder: this is hardly the first time Trump has spoken out loud and clear in condemning violence:

Other major GOP figures were also quick to condemn violence against their political opponents and call for the arrest and prosecution of whoever is behind it:

For the record, that’s the appropriate response to any action, threat or encouragement to use violence against another American for expressing a political opinion.

In the meantime, there’s yet another reason to be suspicious of the assumed rightwing origins of the sudden rash of pipe bombs mailings: Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez already firmly believes that Republicans are to blame.

Bear in mind, this is the same person who believes that Antifa are practicing “non-violent civil disobedience,” that the attacks on Republicans that have included physical assaults and the shooting near-death of Rep. Steve Scalise are “mischaracterized” as violence, that George Soros is a Holocaust survivor, and of course, that socialism works.  So naturally, she believes in “guilty until proven innocent” for Republicans and “innocent even when obviously guilty” for leftists.

Republicans, if you want to express your displeasure with that, go peacefully and vote.

It seems that President Trump is accused of encouraging violence or hate on a daily basis. I remember during his campaign not liking some of the personal attacks on his opponents. However, I came to terms with his personality differences because I knew and respected a lot of the people he surrounded himself with for guidance and advise. I think the company someone keeps tells you a lot about a person. I also highly suspect that on the Enneagram he is an Eight (the Fighter). They are usually really loved or really hated.

My reason for writing is due to the recent outbreak of pipe bombs and the media swiftness to blame President Trump for it due to his hateful speech. The only hateful speech I can recall hearing for a while has been from angry mobs or angry news anchors still unhindged about losing the election. My thought this morning was....I wish someone with media expertise would create a video with every bullying, calls for violence, civil disobedience, racist comments said by President Trump along side all of those things said by the media. I think it would be interesting to see who wins that prize for the most hateful speech. Just a thought!

This morning's Houston Chronicle had a headline about the people targeted with the "bombs". They had photos 6 of the recipients across the top: Obama, Hillary, Soros, Maxine, Brennan and Holder. It occurred to me that that group of photos would be more appropriate on an FBI most wanted poster in the Post Office.

My late daughter worked for the US Postal service---packages are scanned and usually receive a bar code--also post offices have cameras--if the FBI can't find this perp, they need to be dissolved as an agency. To me it looks like a desperate attempt by the DNC to rev up their base. I will be totally socked if it isn't a leftist nut or Democratic operative sending these movie props.
