LATEST "PORTLAND PEACEFUL PROTESTORS" UPDATE:
I’ll just let you read it and check out the photos. It’s the weekend, and I’m frankly tired of having to write about violent, uncivilized lawlessness masquerading as “peaceful protests.” Obviously, a lot of other people are tired of all the violence, too. Why else would all the news channels have cut away from the White House press conference when Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany began showing video of what was actually happening there? Or maybe they just don’t want the narrative to be confused by facts.
Let's all pray this will finally start to calm down once word gets around that 18 “peaceful Portland protesters” who were arrested are now facing charges for serious federal crimes such as arson, damaging federal property and assaults on federal officers. It should send a chilling message that the do-nothing local officials and Soros-backed prosecutors will no longer give them a pat on the head and release them to go riot again. They’re now looking at the potential for serious prison time with a lifelong felony record. Possibly for the first time in their overindulged, helicopter-parented lives, they will discover that their actions have consequences.
President Trump pointed out that once he started prosecuting the attacks on federal monuments and statues with 10-year prison sentences, the assaults came to a screeching halt. There’s so much screeching in Portland that it might take a while for them to hear that consequences are back, but maybe some more arrests, charges and mugshots will finally make the point clear that “peaceful protests” are protected by the First Amendment but arson, vandalism and violence are not.
THE WAR AGAINST OPPORTUNITIES FOR MINORITIES IS WAGED BY DEMOCRATS
Black radio host Charlamagne Tha God let the cat out of the bag about Joe Biden’s campaign when he said, "Joe, you got to hurry up and announce your Black woman VP [vice president] so I can be enthused about voting for her because I will never be enthused about voting for you…”
Everyone knows at this point that Biden is a placeholder who will not be in charge. His Administration will really be run by the people around him, who are far to the left of Biden’s public image, and Democrats are counting on a black, female running mate to excite voters who will actually be voting for her. But before minority voters fall for the false premise that voting for someone who “looks like you” will insure policies that are good for you (a pretty good example of the concept of racism), they should take a long, hard look at the most prominent young, female minority Democrats on the political scene today, the members of the so-called “Squad,” and ask if their policies are helping or harming them.
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez bragged about how she helped drive away Amazon from creating 25,000 jobs in her district. All the “Squad” women hate the capitalist economic system that’s lifted millions of people out of poverty worldwide and want to replace it with socialism, which has created nothing but starvation, oppression, death and misery ever since it’s been invented. They back the rioters who are destroying black-owned businesses and minority neighborhoods, and want to slash funding of police, leaving those neighborhoods at the mercy of armed gangs, which is the new definition of “the Chicago way.”
To hammer home how terrible giving them any access to greater power would be, AOC and Rep. Rashida Tlaib just provided the perfect illustration by introducing a budget amendment to defund Trump’s “opportunity zone” program that gives a tax break to businesses that open in depressed minority neighborhoods, to bring in needed goods and services and job opportunities. They say some wealthy people have taken advantage of it, so they want to throw the baby out with the bathwater (not a surprise, considering their attitude toward the lives of babies.) Republicans say if there are problems with the rules, fix them, don’t axe the job opportunities for millions of black and Hispanic Americans.
I can’t think of a better headline to describe everything they believe in than “Squad members go to war against opportunities for minorities.”
Incidentally, as long as they’re demanding that we “cancel” any program that benefits the wealthy, I assume that means they’ll stop calling for paying off everyone’s student loan debt. The Foundation for Economic Education (which I’m sure is not an organization the Squad women have experience with) notes that their demand to cancel $1.6 trillion in student loan debt would be a massive giveaway to the rich at the expense of the lower middle class.
Only a third of Americans have four-year college degrees, and those people tend to be on the high end of the income spectrum. Their bailout would require lower and middle income earners who didn’t go to college and work in jobs like hairdresser or auto mechanic to pay higher taxes to pay off the student loans of corporate lawyers. It's really a massive "giveaway to the rich."
If you’ve made it this far and are still considering committing national and economic suicide by voting for “moderate” Joe Biden for President, then take a look at this. Those of you who never have voted for Biden should bookmark this link and share it with anyone you know you might even be thinking of it.
This is a list of just 23 of the extreme leftwing ideas in the Democrats’ draft 2020 platform. This isn’t from a hostile conservative outlet’s editorial; it’s what they say themselves that their Party stands for and plans to do if elected. There’s a saying online: “When someone tells you what they are, believe them.” The Democrats have been telling us for several years now that they are no longer a moderate, left-of-center but still patriotic Party. Look over this list of just a couple dozen things that they’re warning us will happen if they’re elected.
To highlight a few that black voters especially should think hard about before voting based on the running mate’s skin color: they want a welcome mat for illegal immigrants who take low-skill jobs from Americans and depress wages; federal funding of abortion that disproportionately kills black babies; doing away with charter schools and vouchers, to trap black kids in inferior public schools; ending the “over-policing” of minority communities, which means removing police and leaving them to the mercies of armed gangs; and more gun control laws, so blacks can’t even protect their businesses and families when there are no cops around anymore. In exchange, they toss the bone of vowing to condemn “systemic racism” and “study” slavery reparations.
In other words, after they drive up your gasoline and power bills by destroying the fossil fuel industry, at least there will still be one form of hot gas they’ll continue generating for free.
BIG SALUTE TO SAM
A big salute to San Francisco Giants relief pitcher Sam Coonrod, the only player among the four Major League Baseball teams on the opening day who didn’t take a knee to show solidarity with Black Lives Matter in denouncing America’s racism. This was before the playing of the National Anthem. The kneeling came when players held a black ribbon while a recording played of Morgan Freeman making a statement on inequality, but some players remained kneeling during the Anthem.
Coonrad said he had no ill will toward anyone, and “I don’t think I’m better than anybody,” but “I can’t get on board on a couple of things I’ve read about Black Lives Matter, how they lean toward Marxism and said some negative things about the nuclear family.” He said, “I’m just a Christian. I believe I can’t kneel before anything but God, Jesus Christ. I chose not to kneel. I feel if I did kneel I’d be a hypocrite. I don’t want to be a hypocrite.”
He’s under attack now by the cancel culture and the leftist sports media. Sports Illustrated said Coonrod “stood out like a sore thumb” and he “hid behind his religion.” How do you “hide behind” something while purposely “standing out like a sore thumb”? Sound as if they’re just throwing wild pitches at him and don’t really care if they make any sense. They’re not upset that he stood out, they’re upset that he stood up for his religious principles instead of kneeling to theirs.
Apropos of nothing, I wanted to mention that there’s a new streaming service called Philo that’s able to offer over 50 channels a month for just $20 because it doesn’t carry ESPN or other sports channels that make most cable services so expensive. If you don’t want your money supporting things that offend you or people who hate you, or you just aren’t watching pro sports anymore for…whatever…reason, it might be worth checking out.
