On Tuesday night, the WASHINGTON POST reported that Attorney General Bill Barr “has told people close to President Trump --- both outside and inside the White House --- that he is considering quitting over Trump’s tweets about Justice Department investigations, three administration officials said...”

The spokesperson for the DOJ, Kerri Kupec, tweeted this in response: “Addressing Beltway rumors: The Attorney General has no plans to resign.”

We don’t know what’s really going on, as WAPO has often gotten stories wrong –- especially when they involve Trump –- and this is another one of those “anonymously sourced” stories. But no matter what the stresses are, Barr has got to hang in there. He is the Last Great Hope for reform in our justice system. If he goes, for whatever reason, I think we may as well pack it in and say goodbye to America as we once knew her. The two-tier justice system is still very much alive and well and must be leveled.

As Constitutional scholar John Eastman said on Tuesday’s THE INGRAHAM ANGLE, “The tensions may be high, but...the WASHINGTON POST is a bit of a propaganda tool, trying to create a wedge or [throw] gasoline on the fire of what might have been a minor tension, and trying to blow it into a major tension. I don’t think it’s a major tension, [judging from] President Trump’s comments today and Attorney General Barr’s spokesman as well. Look, the President is extremely frustrated with what’s gone on, and the unequal treatment under the law --- you know, the President’s friends ought not to get special favorable treatment, but neither [should] they be targeted for special UN-favorable treatment, merely because they’re the President’s friends. And that seems to be what was going on out of the Mueller investigation [and] the indictment of Roger Stone, [with its] grossly excessive sentencing recommendation...”

Eastman thinks Stone’s sentence recommendation “quite frankly, was a set-up,” citing a report that the night before they filed it, prosecutors falsely told their DOJ superiors that it was going to be relatively modest. So what happened? Seven to nine years in prison for a 69-year-old nonviolent offender is not even close to modest. Naturally, Trump was going to Tweet about this. Eastman suspects WAPO is trying to “fuel the fire” on this story.

He described the line a President has to walk: “The President is right; he has the Article II power. He is the head of the Executive Branch. But there’s a reason every President normally stays out of individual cases, because of concerns about interjecting politics in the normal functions of justice. And speaking of “interjecting politics,” he pointed out that “twenty to one, the Department of Justice lawyers backed Hillary Clinton over President Trump with their [campaign] contributions.” He also pointed out that the DC jury pool is “90 percent hostile to Trump.” Yes, there’s good reason for the President to be frustrated, but according to Eastman, “the President needs to redirect that frustration away from Twitter tweets in particular cases.”

In other words, if the President’s running commentary really is causing problems for Barr, he’s got to rein himself in a bit. There's too much at stake, and Barr needs some space to do his job. On the other hand, the media are surely blowing this up into much more than it might actually be. President Trump has acknowledged that his commentary has made Barr’s job harder, and he seems to support Barr one hundred percent.

But the Swamp and its accomplices would like nothing more than for the rumors that Barr might leave his job to be true. That’s the story they want to tell, so it’s the story they WILL tell. Barr is their worst nightmare. We don’t know if there will be accountability for those who abused their power, but if Barr goes, chances of that are slim-to-none.

Just look at what we have going on at the moment. In the Roger Stone case, even though the jury foreman at his trial has revealed herself as an outspoken anti-Trump zealot, presiding Judge Amy Berman Jackson has announced that he will still be sentenced on Thursday as scheduled. That is stunning; Roger Stone absolutely deserves a new trial, as there is just no valid argument that his conviction resulted from a fair trial. It’s hard to believe the judge didn't dismiss the case entirely or at least order a new trial for Stone. Unless she’s planning to offer him probation --- which seems very unlikely --- this is a travesty of justice that Stone’s lawyers surely will appeal.

Then there’s the Michael Flynn case. As we reported yesterday, Barr has appointed federal prosecutor Jeffrey Jensen to review it, and on the heels of that, Flynn attorney Sidney Powell has just filed a new brief to dismiss the case “for egregious government misconduct.” Here are the details of this breaking story.

We also had the story yesterday about Harvard Law professor emeritus Alan Dershowitz’ claim that he has evidence President Obama personally directed the FBI to open an investigation at the request of leftist/globalist billionaire megadonor George Soros. (In his Tuesday podcast, Dan Bongino speculated that the “someone” was a Ukrainian oligarch named Dmitry Firtash, a business rival of Soros.) So it seems some investigators are finally sniffing around the Top Dog (Obama, of course --- or is that Soros?).

Barr has noted that the intelligence agencies have come to identify “the national interest with their own political preferences.” No kidding. We knew that for years they were wary of Michael Flynn because he wanted to limit and downsize them (and we’ve seen what happened to HIM). The problems are bad enough that some are even recommending abolishing the CIA and the FISA court entirely. Here’s one very detailed article about that, for when you have some time…

Abolish CIA & FISA

Going through the letters I get, it’s dismaying to see readers giving up on ever seeing accountability. I think we’re going to see it eventually, and possibly some tremendous changes in the system. YES, it takes a long time; the wheels of justice have to slog through vat after vat of molasses. Resistance will never let up. And along the way, it’s hard to see things like Judge Jackson’s latest decision on Roger Stone and the ruthless pursuit of Michael Flynn when serious liars and abusers of power go unpunished. It’s maddening and discouraging.

But as responsible citizens of a republic, we have to make ourselves look. The biggest take-away for all of us has to be this: “Elections have consequences.” The judge in Stone’s case was appointed by Obama. Loretta Lynch and Eric Holder were appointed by...Obama. Most of the State Department holdovers worked under Hillary. Congress is majority Democrat and will NEVER stop its insanity and compulsive impeaching until they are drop-kicked out of the Capitol building and down all those steps. Most importantly, if President Trump doesn’t get a second term, things will go right back to the way they were in the summer of 2016 when Hillary Clinton was the “anointed one.” Business as usual.

We can’t let that happen.

Because, last night, I did not get a chance to read, and comment on, your EVENING EDITION, I did so tonight....I had no sooner submitted my comment when I saw THIS newsletter and, since I did not remember having read it, I did so.....and, upon reading your statement, "If he goes, for whatever reason, I think we may as well pack it in and say goodbye to America as we once knew her", in your first paragraph, I let out one of my little gasps because, when I defined America with the word "foreign" in the comment I had just submitted, it was because what I wrote IN my comment was saying that we now "do not have America as we once knew her." ......And BECAUSE that comment I wrote WAS re-echoed by your statement only minutes after I'd written it, I am going to copy, and paste, that comment I wrote below:

Is it not pitiful beyond pitiful that in this foreign America we now live in that, not only do parents have to worry that his, or her, child might not come home from school, but, after this latest scandal with....what we used to see as a squeaky clean organization, the Boy Scouts....but they also have lost their trust in the things that USED TO make America great that helped...rather than hurt....their kids!

With all the ugliness we are made aware of on a daily basis, how can our kids not BE cynical without knowing a Lord who can give them something that will enable them to TRANSCEND the ugliness....OF this sinful being seated with Him in the heavenlies while still on earth!!!

Once again, Governor, you’ve split the sea of confusion and discouragement!
    Thank you!
Two thoughts: One is a scene from a movie I never watched entirely, but it starred Jack Nicholson.
    In it he declares
    “You can’t handle the truth!!”
The other is a quote from a football coach
To “Win One for the Gipper”
    May not make sense
But I think I have indeed been almost overwhelmed by the vastness of this deepstate
    Corrupt and vile
    It has to go!
So thank you for cheering us on, reminding us to stand up for what is truly right
And vote like lives depend on it
    Quite frankly
    They do.

To the best of my recollection, it's been 4 years since Comey, at the behest of Hillary, sent spies into a political opponents campaign. 5 yrs since Hillary wiped her server, 7 yrs since Lois Lerner used the IRS to punish conservative groups. 8 years since Bengahzi and over a decade since Eric Holder's fast and furious.
This is not the slow wheels of justice turning. There is no justice, only corruption. The big take away is that corrupt billionaires, corrupt politicians and corrupt judges rule this banana republic. There is no more, we the people.

OVER! If Barr bails then the SCAM continues on and the Deep State wins after all and the President loses and might as well resign. To say per tweets you quit is an excuse . If he Barr knows more of what is behind the scenes and may come out in the future then he would not leave because of this President. Time for the President to watch his tweeting and only be positive and stay out of the legal area. Not now later on he can speak out with a book. Let the rest go for now tell us what you are doing ignore the media idiots. Super on his latest to give a few a free pass out of some legal situations. He is being hit all over for these choices. His choices get over it.

    Hi Mike,
We like Bill Barr but he is going too slow and if the heat is too much for him then he needs to resign.
This is bigger than Barr and Trump knows what has to be done.
Hillary has already taken a job (no salary 5 year contract) in Northern Ireland to avoid indictment which she knows is coming.
If he won't move on all this because of threats, again he needs to resign. He should also SAY that he is being threatened.
Get that Rudy stuff out there ASAP. Pardon Roger without delay.
Support and move fast on a Pelosi impeachment. She is a cornered cat and will strike like a snake.
Tell Trump his supporters want him to MOVE THIS ALONG.
Don't give any of them time to think up the next false charge. It's time for Offense.
    Rose Howell

PS Ben Carson needs to work on Trump to move this fast. Don't hesitate to go after Barry NOW. Trump respects Carson. So do we.

We absolutely cannot lose AG Bill Barr. He’s our last hope of saving this country as we know it. I sincerely hope President Trump realizes this and acts accordingly, if that’s what it’s going to take. There is too much at stake here and it concerns all of us, not just Trump & Co.

Governor: I pray that AG Barr will stay strong and continue. Nothing less than a disaster if he would leave now. And of course that is exactly what the evil Democrats would like. I strongly suspect many Democrats and some RINO's are becoming more than nervous about these investigations being conducted by Barr and Durnham. As far as the President tweeting, just knock it off when it comes to pending cases. I am sure the President is way beyond frustrated, like many Americans, with the injustice of the two tier justice system, one for Democrats with no accountability and justice and the other system of harsh punishment, especially for anyone who is an associate of the President. P.S. On a technical note, many times it shows "no comments" at the end of your articles, but there actually be comments. And just like you- I read them!

Mike, thank-you for your great commentary. It disturbs me greatly that the Dems, the left & Lamestream Media get away with everything short of murder. And yes, If Trump had not been elected it would be business as usual for the corrupt Dems, deep state & left wing media. I personally shutter to think what will happen to this country if Trump is not re-elected! Quite frankly I think it would be to Trump’s advantage if he would tone down the unnecessary shots he takes at people sometimes. Frankly, the Dems are such idiots they will self destruct on their own without the presidents help! That includes Bloomberg. Trump has been such a great president to date that if he cools his jets on his rhetoric I think he has a 80% chance of being re-elected. He can virtually walk to the finish line. The Dems have absolutely nothing to run on. They are total knuckleheads!

Mike, sir, I am one who would like to see several of the Federal departments closed down as not being germane to our Federal Government. But, we MUST get a Convention of States called in order to do this in a logical and controlled procedure. We can not allow the Marxist-Democrats and their leader George Soros and his underlings, Clinton's, Obama, Pelosi, et al to control this.

I believe one big difference in the Barr investigations and Mueller's is the lack of leaks to the press which created excitement and a false narrative among the faithful. With Barr we don't get a sense as to where he is in his investigation. We don't know when he expects to bring the evidence and how important it will be to draining the swamp. I do believe though, that this silence must be very troubling to those who know that they've been protected in the past.

Please ask President Trump to speak respectfully and kindly to everyone and dispense of the name calling and nasty comments. His constant twittering is annoying as he always has to have the last word and too defensive. His language and name calling is very offensive and turning many GOP persons off and hating and not respecting him. As a Christian he claims to be, perhaps, he would begin acting like one. His harsh words and name calling only escalate the hate and division in our country. He should be reminded that a soft word turns down wrath. May he conduct himself worthy of his office. Congress needs to respect him before they will work with him as well as the voters. His conduct is very offensive.

No Governor, they would go back to the way they were. It would be far worse. I have already written to the AG begging him not to go. I even hung a little guilt trip on him as to needing him. I suggested he just do as those of us who support the President’s actions but not his behavior do, ignore the tweets and look at successes. We lose Barr who in world would take that thankless job? Nancy, Hilary? I guess AOC isn’t a lawyer. LOL
