2001 All Over Again

June 4, 2017

Before we let the left’s collective meltdown destroy the polar ice caps, let’s remember that we’ve heard this hysteria before. Every time a Republican President backs out of a terrible deal or treaty negotiated by a Democratic predecessor, the left and the media behave as if the world is coming to an end.

The closest example to Trump dumping the Paris deal came in 2001, when George W. Bush pulled America out of the Kyoto Protocol, which was arguably worse than the Paris deal because its CO2 emission restrictions were actually binding. Bush said he believed the free market would be more effective at reducing CO2 than restrictive government. European leaders, the left and the media assailed him as a crazy, corporate-controlled maniac who was going to “DESTROY THE WORLD!!” (Trademark registered.)

Commentary continues below advertisement

Actual result: thanks to the free market, fracking was invented, producing abundant clean natural gas, which has reducing CO2 emissions in the US by about twice the levels required by the Kyoto Protocol. And all while expanding the US economy, not hamstringing it. So when you hear the leftist leaders' howls of outrage over what Trump just did and the claim that he’s going to “DESTROY THE WORLD!!” remember that we’ve heard it before and the world is still here. And for some fathomable reason, so are they.

I think he's doing a great job. I pray he doesn't get discouraged by the horrible left! I think he has put up with so much crap, it must be very hard to keep his mind on his job. God bless him and our country. I believe he is our last, best hope!

Governor Huckabee, every day is another day closer to bringing up from the edge thanks to you and people like our president Donald Trump. Thank God for all you do and God bless you.

Governor Huckabee, I believe much of these problems are due to Christians NOT fully understanding their Duty and Responsibilities as a Citizen of the USA, to GOD and the Citizens of the USA.

So they do not keep informed, or treat their elected officials as employees by keeping aware of their activities and evaluating their performance on a regular basis.

Nor do they make their voices heard to let those same officials know that they are being evaluated.

This Government of the People, by the People, for the People, was made to ensure that no single person had complete and total control of it!

WE are to be a Government run from the bottom up, our elected officials and even the President, are supposed to be in service to Us, Not Just the other way around, and it's ensured for the Citizens of the USA, by the Authority of the U.S. Constitution, Authority existing due to GOD*!

    Therefore,

The majority of those who stand up hold to their word, and do their jobs to the best of their ability (Including their Duties and Responsibilities of the Authority appointed by GOD as Citizens, of this Nation!),
are the ones who should be running our Government!

    *Romans 13:1-7

Let EVERY Soul be subject to the Governing Authorities.

For there is NO Authority EXCEPT from GOD,
and The AUTHORITIES that EXIST are APPOINTED By GOD.

Therefore Whoever Resists the Authority Resists the ORDINANCE of GOD,
and Those who Resist will bring Judgment on Themselves.

For Rulers are NOT a Terror to GOOD Works, but to Evil.

Do You want to be Unafraid of the Authority?

Do what is Good, and you will have praise from the same.

For He is GOD’S Minister to You for GOOD.

    But if you Do Evil, Be AFRAID;

    for He does NOT Bear the Sword in Vain;

    for he is GOD’S Minister,
an AVENGER to Execute Wrath on Him who Practices EVIL.

    Therefore you must be Subject,
NOT only because of Wrath but also for Conscience’ sake.

For because of this you also pay taxes,
for They are GOD’S Ministers attending Continually to this very thing.

Render therefore to ALL their Due:

Taxes to whom Taxes are Due, Customs to whom Customs, Fear to whom Fear, Honor to whom Honor.

    Romans 13:1-7

    Remember this too,
for those who Stand with CHRIST, putting GOD First, And Loving Your Neighbor As You Love Yourself,
LOVE is the FULFILLMENT of the Law!
    (Romans 13:8-10)

Our Kingdom Is NOT Of This WORLD, It Is INCORRUPTIBLE, EVERLASTING, & HOLY, Ruled By GOD'S Right Hand,
Our KING Of KINGS, & LORD Of LORDS,
    JESUS, The Christ, Our Savior,
To The GLORY Of GOD, The Father! Amen

Christians Our Strength And Power On This World,
    Is IN CHRIST!

I usually refrain from discussions with Liberals because their mind is already made up. Sad, but most often true.

Sadly, and even frighteningly, today's problems with the liberals are exacerbated and magnified by their vitriolic HATRED of just about everything related to conservative values, reasoning, or to President Trump - as if they are deranged. I'll be 65 in a few days; born and raised in San Francisco (now living in IL - ugh), *participated* in the "Summer of Love" in the 60's, experienced the whole Vietnam *Make love not war* era, bla-bla-bla. So I've seen/experienced protests, anger, war. You Mike, are three years younger, but as you have exceptional knowledge of all history, you certainly know about the times/generation in which I grew up. Dad was a WWII Navy pilot, Mom stayed home and did EVERYTHING, and my 3 siblings and I endured 13 years of Catholic school - yep, Kindergarden also! So we received an excellent education and were raised with, what I consider, traditional beliefs. Now, at the risk of sounding trite, I daily think, "I've truly never seen ANYTHING this bad or ugly." I'm not even sure anymore it's truly about specific issues - I'm afraid it's progressed (or devolved) to a basic affair of good and evil. Both my parents are gone now, and I was unable to have children, but I'm grateful none of them has to/would have had to experience this. I've started reading Revelation lately and there's little doubt in my mind we're approaching the nearness of the end times. I thank God for you, Mike Huckabee, and your generous heart and spirit, and I pray for our President & his family every day (and for you too!). God bless our Country - all of us!

Gov. Huckabee, yours is a voice in the wilderness of lies and invented news. I thought that President Trump explained very well the deceit and injury that the Paris Accords afforded we Americans. After years of false information from previous administrations, it's difficult for many people to put their faith in our current president, but most do believe you. That's a God-Send.
I'm 75 years old, a Texan and nobody's fool, and I'm personally grateful for your years of wisdom and honesty. You would have always been a fine president, but in retrospect, it seems that you are more important remaining outside the federal government or, should I say "Swamp"?
    God bless you..??????????????

President Trump explained completely exactly why the Paris Accord was very harmful to the USA, but people have trust issues from previous administrations. They will believe you, Gov. Huckabee, which gives you a very privileged position now. You are a God-Send to all Americans. You have always been one of the best minds in politics in my estimation.
    I'm 75 years old, a Texan and no one's fool; a I don't hand out compliments lightly.
    Thank you Mike??

It amazes me almost daily that pretty much all the talking heads are spouting ;Yes, global warming is caused by man, or No it does not exist. Both are pretty much wrong according to the fact I learned years ago, I don't remember 'who, what, where, or when' just what was said. I learned: The earth since it was formed has gone thru cycles. Like a old fashioned clock pendulum the climate swings from one extreme to the other. From the 'ice-age' radical left; look at all the evidence where the glacier ice pushed half way down the US. Then as it swings back the weather becomes more temperate, like what we experienced the last several decades. Then it will swing to the right which is the tropical or hot 'age'. The proof here in the US is the desert that used to be an inland sea. And at one time there was an actual 'bridge' where ancient man walked from Russia to Alaska following the animals they relied on for food and clothing. At that time the Polar Ice area was quite small. We've also had artic winters forced on this planet from a huge meteor hitting the earth that may or may not have been the reason volcano's erupted and the dust and smoke covered such a large portion of the world that we had an ice age. Examples are the prehistoric animals they unearthed that had flower and grasses in their stomachs and there really was no reason they died.
Not saying man can ignore the trash that is being dumped into the oceans by large coastal cities, or man polluting the water by factory run off....like Matel Steel in Gary IN bringing over Indian steel and cooking the toxic material out of it and storing those toxins in plastic vats that have been leaking into Lake Michigan for years. And developers taking toxic top soil and moving it to a farm in another part of the state and it leaching into the ground water system. The list is large and those thing need to be stopped before the entire aquifer and lakes are too polluted to sustain life. But, that is a different kettle of fish....one that does need to be addressed by isn't because 'big money' is paying hush-money to too many people.

    Governor Huckabee...
Although, I'm not completely sold on President Trump, I am giving him the benefit of the doubt, until 2020.
I keep telling people, though, that I believe YOU should've been elected and I will keep pushing for that into the next election.
I'm in no way a very strong politically minded person but, when I watched your half hour long speech announcing that you were running for the office, back in '15, I knew right then, I wanted you as MY NEXT PRESIDENT!
I agreed with everyone of your policies, you mentioned, including your "Fair Tax" which, if I'm not mistaken, you brought up something along the lines of completely closing down the I.R.S.
How the working American people were so blind that they could NOT see the benefit of receiving their full paychecks, without ANY federal taxes being taken out, is way beyond my comprehension.
And, I'm also very impressed with the love you show for our Israeli friends which leads to the most important aspect of all... you're being a brother in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
That's the one thing our country is really lacking, good solid Christian leadership!
So, I'm begging you, please run, again, in the 2020 election and, if need be, ask Dr. Ben Carson, to be your running mate!
We need strong morals back in the White House and you two gentlemen are the ones that can provide that.
Your supporter and brother in Christ,
    Travis Farren
(By the way, I also like that you will jam out on the bass guitar, as well!)

    GOD BLESS YOU!

Mike, your commentaries are the ONLY ones I read on the internet without interposing a filter of suspicion. Your honesty (which I imagine may stem in part from your Christian faith) is a rare exception in the welter of opinion that's offered to us daily

Who cares what the left claims anymore. They can keep crying wolf forever, especially after their brutal 2018 Midterm Elections/Deplorables II. If the left claims that 2+2=5, it is... Right claims it is 4, they are wrong.

If anyone would reasonably read it and listen to our local and state leaders yes America can actually be the leader in environmental change rather than sending millions to these other countries. It's more about money with these people than the environment!!
