Here are some updates on the story of the New York Times op-ed by the alleged “senior White House official” who smugly claims he’s part of a secret cabal that thwarts President Trump from doing things of which they disapprove:

To the surprise of nobody whose brain cell count tops three digits, all the real senior officials whose names you might know (Pence, Pompeo, Coats, etc.) strongly denied that they or anyone on their staffs wrote it (in Pence’s words, “Our office is above such amateur acts.”) As I noted yesterday, there are hundreds of staffers in every branch of the government with titles and egos that lead them to believe they’re more important than they really are.

Trump’s excellent Press Secretary called the op-ed “another example of the liberal media’s concerted effort to discredit the President” and its writer a coward who has chosen to deceive rather than support the President, who is putting his ego ahead of the will of the American people, and who should do the right thing and resign.

I agree, but in all fairness to the New York Times, let’s not overlook the possibility that it might simply be yet another example of fake news and he doesn’t exist at all. Call me a cockeyed optimist, but I do like to give people the benefit of the doubt, and nothing deserves more doubts than a New York Times editorial about the inner workings of the Trump Administration.

Finally, an anonymous major GOP donor has reportedly offered a $50,000 cash reward for information leading to the identification of the writer. So if he really does exist, he might want to consider turning himself in for the reward money. His identity will eventually come out, and he’s going to need every dime he can muster to survive that long period of time until Hell freezes over or someone else offers him another job, whichever comes first.

I suspect the author of the op-ed is not from the WH, but someone in the newspaper, or another follower from Saul Alinsky; divide and conquer, or create divisiveness within the presudent’s inner circle. Let’s be aware if that possibility. God bless the president and all those around him.

Why is it that conservative journalists seldom mention David Rockfeller's thanking the NYT and the Washington Post for decades of covering up what Rockefeller and his associates were really up to with the CFR and the TC.
Even though David isn't around anymore, the NYT and WP are still at it.
It also seems that NYT and WP like to refer to themselves as "newspapers of record" as though that referred to excellent journalism.
RE; Uranium One
Why is it that conservative leaders, and even President Trump, seldom remind everyone that it was Obama and Hillary that colluded with Russia so that 20% of USA Uranium could come under Russia's control?
And there has been no apparent effort to rescind that arrangement.
And where is the alleged FBI investigation of the Uranium One deal by Mueller?

Why is it that conservatives, including President Trump, remind the world that Mueller did nothing regarding the FBI's framing 4 innocent people for murder, resulting in life sentences. Two died in prison. Finally, a lawsuit reversed the convictions, and over $100 million in compensation via Massachusetts taxpayers, not Mueller and his FBI associates.

I have felt from the first time i saw this on the news it was fake- probably a reporter just wanting to stir things up. The white house needs to rise above all this chaos causing media- keep moving forward. Its causing too much chaos and disagreements in our country.

If my guess is correct, may we never confirm it! Bob Woodwards book of anonymous gossip came out this week. President Trump wasn't thrilled. The day after its released a dossier containing unbelievable assertions not dissimilar to the book come out in an anonymous op ed. It totally knocks Woodward off the stage, abruptly ending what should have been a two week gabathon on CNN. A huge hunt looks for the traitor except Potus had Bannon write it to create the diversion. Whomever, in the West Wing discreetly walked it over to the NYT, begging for anonymity. It was all a ruse. Mission Accomplished. Deep throat No. 2 = Donald Trump

I totally believe this was penned by a NYT journalist. Think about it. What could one aide do that would keep all the government on track, and make difference the author claims. Short of the President himself, even the vice president doesn't have that kind of power.

I’m not sure why the secret service doesn’t step in and arrest people for events like this. I read that this anonymous op ed said something along the lines of “at all cost”. Isn’t that threatening the president? People on the other side of sanity continue to push the limits. The problem is there apparently are no limits that are enforced these days.

I totally agree that the article most likely was not written by anyone in the administration but by another reporter wanting to stir up more trouble for Pres. Trump. I wondered how long it would take for someone to verbalize that thought. Thanks!!!

My guess is that NO ONE really wrote the OP-Ed. Fiction written by a group of newspaper writers just to throw some dirt onto the fire....we can see through it all! One thing they don't count on is that God is in control!!!!!!!!!

Just heard someone's educated guess on the mysterious writer of the op-ed to be Huntsman - had something to do with Brennan. My uneducated guess would be Jeff Sessions.

I don’t think the anonymous source exists at all. And if I am right, the NYT has written their last article. The fake news media is in way over their heads, and it was only a matter of time before they rally started to hang themselves.

It’s unreal how so many otherwise intelligent people fall for this baloney.
The million dollar question:
If they don’t know who wrote the op-ed, how do they know it was someone that even works in the White House?
Everybody’s got their hair on fire over something that probably came right from the NYT, or the DNC, or any number of other places.

I think someone in the WH did write it & also lied about not writing it. The writer could have easily given it to someone else who then handed it to NYT. The writer would not have lied about being in contact with NYT.

Hello Mike.. I've been looking at this Op - Ed since it was published
I think this is someone very senior who is a Military man.
Lodestar is a Military term, 'Off the rails' is a term a certain person has used before, this person was at John McCains funeral and also this person has publicly said before, that he isn't enjoying his job.. This person is of SENIOR Level... My instinct tells me (I've thought this man has been a leaker for sometime now).. I don't Trust this man AT ALL.. He is the Chief of Staff John Kelly.. This doesn't take a genius to work out.. Please get this message to the President.. PLEASE.. It's John Kelly!!

I am not convinced that it was written by a “senior official”. The person or persons who decided before Brett Kavanaugh was confirmed that they would make one last attempt at upending the Trump administration probably through that into the “anonymous article” to cause derision between staff members with the Idea that it would make everyone distrust each other and perhaps one would “rat the President” out.
Anyone could have written this note including the grandmother down the street with a lot of time on her hands or a NYT staff member looking to move up the ladder. The fact that Nancy Palosi would even say that Mike Pence could have written that letter shows how out of touch she is. I would believe the Pope wrote it before I would believe it was written by our Vice President.

In the article, it mentioned taking papers off the President's desk so he couldn't sign them. Would that be possible ? Doesn't Secret Service guard the office ? Visitor logs, cameras ?

I am inclined to think it’s made up- lying is easy ;truth is hard. No one wants to do anything hard anymore hence why the left is throwing the temper tantrums they are.
