WNBA games are about basketball

October 1, 2017

Apparently, some women basketball players think that bringing divisive political messages into the arena during the National Anthem is working out so spendidly for the NFL, they need to start doing it during WNBA games as well.

An unnamed player for one of the teams, the L.A. Sparks, responded this way: “Everyone's so focused on the flag. It's not even about the flag. It's about racial equality, criminal justice reform, police brutality and everything along those lines and I feel like people are forgetting that.”

Okay, to make it clear: I feel like she’s forgetting that WNBA games are about basketball, NFL games are about football, and neither is about forcing political statements onto fans - particularly during the brief moment when everyone shows respect for America and gratitude for those who sacrificed to protect our rights and freedoms. It’s taken the WNBA a long time to build a fan base. Do you want to drive them away in a week? Then keep this up.

Racial equality...since when did honoring our country and her flag become an insult to the blacks? I will admit there was a point in our country's history where race was an issue and it wasn't just the blacks either (surprised?) The Irish, the Italians, the Jews, the American Indian and so on all dealt with racial issues and you know what? Not a one of them were ever accused of disrespecting our country and her flag...they worked through those issues and EARNED their own respect. Seeing these "poor" athletes and their exorbitant salaries crying about "inequality" and using our flag as a stepping stool to get attention is thoroughly disgusting.....

The Great Deceiver is once again hard at work and this time his minions are the NFL and now WNBA players who are "protesting". The truth is these people who play a kids game are engaged in another great lie to cover up a horrible truth. That truth as we all know is the black culture. The Great Deceiver has once again convinced the weak minded that it's a hate crime to tell the truth, blames the cops for trying to make a neighborhood safe or white supremacist are keeping the black man down. Of course nothing is farther from the truth. Nearly 80% of black babies are born out of wedlock, single motherhood is the largest group of the poor, drugs dealers are the biggest employers, gangs are the local cops and black on black crime is the majority cause of death for black youths and abortion mills are in every black neighborhood.
Is the Great Deceiver furious that Trump and the silent majority is speaking the truth? You bet and in the end the NFL and WNBA "players" will join a growing group of losers.

"It's not even about the flag. It's about racial equality, criminal justice reform, police brutality and everything along those lines and I feel like people are forgetting that.” You were perspicacious Gov, in correcting her comment that "it's supposed to be about playing basketball!" People don't "pay" good money to watch some political demonstration - if they do, they are throwing their money away, because they are getting a belly full of hogwash daily, no payment required.

Spoken from a lady whose entire team did not come out onto the floor to acknowledge the flag or the anthem and I being a great Sparks fan concluded that I will never care if they win or not those unpatriotic self serving gals. If they only knew that all their privileges in life are due to that flag and anthem and the soldiers that died or were maimed protecting it. Oh and about those cops that are treating blacks so awfully why is it when there is a trial by there peers the cops are found to be doing their job and the defendant resisted to the point where force was necessary? And what about the 80% black crime on blacks in Chicago are you going to do a display of outrage for that? There is nothing wrong with American except those who after generations of getting handouts is so pampered they only can protest and not do a damn thing about helping the problems. And for your finals against Minnesota Lynx who cares who wins anymore just a bunch of spoiled brats from LA playing.

As far as I'm concerned the NLF, NBA, WNBA, etc. do not need to exist. Overpaid, bad role models, give little back to fans and communities, disrespectful, exactly what our country does not need. I hope they are all boycotted to the extent that they have to fold. Add Hollywood and other entertainers to that. I'm done with them all.

yet another group of talented athletes with no other jobs skills, no higher cortical function, no intellect, who's purpose in life is to bounce a rubber ball and throw it through a metal rim or prevent another person from doing same, producing no tangible goods or service. Yeah, that guy/gal is going to be the thought leader in governance. Right......

"it's about racial equality, criminal justice reform, police brutality and everything along those lines and I feel like people are forgetting that....”Ummmm, let me see; we've had a black president, black attorney general, black Secretary of state (twice), black Supreme court justices (two), countless black mayors of Democrat-led cities that are bastions of crime (see Baltimore, Washington DC, Chicago, New Orleans), a black caucus in Congress, loudmouthed black congressmen and women (Maxine Waters) and plenty of black police chiefs. So.....where exactly is the blame, the culpability?
