It's too bad for former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Samantha Power that Hillary Clinton didn’t share her secret for getting around the Freedom of Information Act. There they both were, working at the State Department for the same administration, and Power was blissfully unaware of the scrutiny that would come once Hillary was a failed former presidential candidate and Obama was out of office. Hillary has always been skilled at hiding evidence and skirting the laws to maintain her secrecy, and she’s had a lot of practice over the years.

See, what you do at the State Department is set up your own private email server, serviced by your own IT people, and physically destroy your devices when someone subpoenas what’s on them or sues to see your old text messages. It also helps when the State Department slow-walks FOIA requests and, when necessary, replies to them with “No documents found responsive to your request.” (Of course, that might actually be true; if you were conducting business through your own email address and your own private server and had rendered your documents unretrievable with BleachBit and destroyed your devices, there might really BE no documents responsive to the FOIA request.)

From Our “Investigate Everything!!!” Desk:

By Mike Huckabee

The Treasury Department has agreed to Senate Minority (Pray He Stays That Way) Leader Chuck Schumer’s demand for an investigation of why the Trump Administration has postponed replacing the Andrew Jackson $20 bill with a Harriett Tubman $20 until 2028.

The Treasury Department says it’s because it’s taking longer than expected to insure that a new bill is counterfeit-proof. In this era of computer scans and high-tech printers, the design and creation of a new bill is a complicated process involving a number of factors designed to prevent counterfeiting. Now, the Treasury will have to add a 10-month audit of employee conduct, followed by a review and writing a report to assure Chuck Schumer that the delay isn’t because they’re a bunch of racists and sexists who want to keep a woman of color from appearing on US currency. I can’t help wondering if this partisan investigation of the delay will delay the bill’s arrival until 2029.

https://www.westernjournal.com/ct/seriously-schumer-wants-trump-investigated-20-bill/

Incidentally, this stems from the leftist trope that Trump is a racist who doesn’t want to honor Tubman but admires Jackson for famously disrupting the elitist grip on Washington with his populist uprising. They never have explained why Republicans would prefer Jackson, known as the father of the Democratic Party, to Tubman, a veteran, gun owner (and user) and (while she couldn’t register to vote in that era) someone who obviously would have supported Republican Abe Lincoln over any slavery-defending Democrat of her time.

A Lesson in How the Media Twist News To Create Anti-Trump Narratives

By Mike Huckabee

On Tuesday, June 25, the leftwing British newspaper/website The Guardian ran a story with this widely-quoted headline:

“Trump threatens ‘obliteration’ after Iran suggests he has a ‘mental disorder’”

The story was that on Tuesday, Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani responded to President Trump’s warnings not to attack the US by describing Trump as “afflicted by a mental disorder” and his new sanctions as “outrageous and idiotic.”  And that afterward, Trump issued a series of tweets (or to use the Guardian's incendiary verbiage, the insult “triggered an emotional response” in a “flurry” of tweets), detailing Iran’s previous attacks and warning that if the US has to respond with overwhelming force, “in some areas, overwhelming will mean obliteration.”

To me, Trump’s tweets didn’t sound like an unhinged “flurry” or rant.  They sounded like a US President detailing the reasons why Iran is not to be trusted and warning of the consequences if they launch violent attacks on the US and its interests.  The Guardian obviously wants to spin that as evidence of Trump being mentally unstable and lashing out with a threat of “obliteration” in response to a personal insult, bolstering the propaganda rhetoric of Iran’s leader.  That would be reprehensible and disingenuous enough by itself.

But look again at that headline from Tuesday, July 25th:

“Trump threatens ‘obliteration’ after Iran suggests he has a ‘mental disorder’”

“After?”  Note that the story doesn’t mention that Trump made the exact same warning to Iran, even using the same word (“obliteration”) in an interview with NBC last Friday, four days before Rouhani insulted his mental acuity:

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-48728465

That NBC story made international news.  Did the Guardian editors miss it?  Or forget it (if so, do they have mental problems?)  Or was it just not convenient to their “Trump is an unstable baby who lashes out after every insult” narrative, so they didn’t bother to mention it?  Was that headline an attempt to support the rhetoric of Iran’s radical oppressive regime while undermining support for the US President who is trying to prevent Iran from launching violent attacks?  Still wonder why Trump calls some media outlets “enemies of the people”?

There are a number of people I could point to in this story who are behaving like irrational creatures of emotion, but Trump isn’t one of them.  Some are the leaders of Iran.  And the others are working for the Guardian newspaper.

Other news you might have missed...

It’s only Wednesday morning, the Democratic debates haven’t even started yet, and already, I have to do another Leftist Lunacy List just to catch up with the crazy news since Monday.

Leftist Lunacy List Item #1:

You won’t be surprised to learn that both of these stories have a connection to Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who is becoming the Typhoid Mary of political insanity.  The first involves her giving a public “right on!” to 547 employees of the Wayfair furniture company who are threatening to walk out if the company fulfills a $200,000 order to provide more beds for kids in overcrowded border detention camps.

AOC tweeted in solidarity:

“Wayfair workers couldn’t stomach they were making beds to cage children.  They asked the company to stop. CEO said no.  Tomorrow, they‘re walking out.  This is what solidarity looks like - a reminder that everyday people have real power, as long as we’re brave enough to use it.”

Wow. This is not what solidarity looks like, it’s what stupidity looks like.  Let’s try to unravel this Gordian knot of idiocy:

First of all, I know AOC doesn’t have kids, but let me assure her that no matter what they might claim at bedtime, beds do not “cage children.”  Beds give children a place to sleep comfortably.  Aren’t all you leftists the ones expressing outrage as you pass around photos of detainee kids sleeping on “concrete floors” (photos with the time stamps carefully removed so we don’t notice they’re from the Obama Administration)?  And now, you’re claiming that providing them with comfortable beds is some form of torture.

What else should we not provide for them so that you can signal your virtue by refusing to be involved in making their lives easier?  You were also yelling about them not having toothpaste and soap.  Should Procter & Gamble employees threaten to strike rather than send them those items?  And how can all the providers of food, beverages, plumbing services, etc.., live with themselves?  They should all quit if their employers insist on continuing to provide those migrant kids with the basic necessities of life.  That'll help those poor kids!

I would suggest that these people should think twice about this tactic, but that implies that they thought once.

Leftist Lunacy List Item #2:

The Democratic Presidential candidates who are promising to cancel trillions of dollars of student debt or spend tens of trillions to improve the weather aren’t the only ones who pluck numbers out of the air the way a magician plucks coins out of people’s ears (and how many magicians would it take to pay for their proposals?  Just pick a number out of the air.)

Rosie O’Donnell joined the trend on a Bravo interview show where she promoted an upcoming protest of our illegal immigration policies by not only declaring that “legitimate scholars who study genocide” agree with AOC that our detention centers are concentration camps (FYI: No, “legitimate scholars” don’t), but that “there are over 100,000 camps in nearly every state.” With 50 states, that would total over 5,000,000 detention camps.  No wonder our immigration enforcement budget is strained!

https://www.newsbusters.org/blogs/nb/kyle-drennen/2019/06/25/rosie-odonnell-claims-over-100000-concentration-camps-us

She went on: “There’s between 10,000 and 13,000 children, that could fill Radio City Music Hall twice. That's how many children unaccompanied alone in these camps.”

Using the 13,000 figure and 5 million camps, that works out to 384.6 camps per child.  Considering one of our biggest problems is overcrowding, that would seem to be a red flag on the math.  But I did do something that few leftist commenters on this topic ever  do: I checked a claim for factual accuracy.  The maximum seating capacity of Radio City Music Hall is indeed 6,015.

So give Rosie credit: she was right about that.

Project Veritas’ latest bombshell video of a top Google executive talking about the steps they’re taking to prevent another Trump in 2020 has already sparked a grilling in a Senate hearing.  Sen. Ted Cruz became visibly angered and frustrated by a Google executive who claimed not to know about that story (that would have been a good place to remind her of the perjury laws).  She rather snarkily replied that she had a “day job” and was too busy.  Cruz snapped, "Well, I'm sorry this hearing is infringing on your day job."

It sounds as if some people at Google believe they are now too big and important even to have to answer to the US Senate, a delusion they need to be disabused of immediately.

Something else to think about as you watch the Democratic debates:  At the link, Charlie Kirk details what putting any of these Democrats into the White House would mean for you, your family and America.  It’s not a pretty sight, and bear in mind, this isn’t fearmongering.  It’s based on what they’ve done in the past and already told us they would do if elected. Read this and you might start lining up tomorrow to reelect Trump.

How come nobody is pointing out AOCortez (new spelling to absolve guilt) has direct familial ties to the guy who started biological warfare, Hernán Cortés, who killed millions of Native Americans!

Dear Governor.....I hope you do not mind, but am taking a quote from you in this column....and begin using it....."I would suggest you think twice (about whatever issue), but that would suggest you actually thought once."
Thank you! I really needed the laugh this morning!
Especially after seeing the usual various left-leaning, anti-Trump articles on virtually every subject headlining Yahoo "News". This appals me as between Google, Yahoo, FaceBook....and all the other generally left propaganda outlets that eliminate any conservative speech....are the very outlets that most people use. The vast majority do not actually read, research, or anything accept the mainstream narrative as fact.
AND.....most disturbing was the SCOTUS decision today that the reasons for this administration's request to include the "citizenship" question on the 2020 Census....were "insufficient"....
Without actually having a CITIZENSHIP-BASED VOTER ID.....am very afraid that the 2020 election will be a major fiasco....and pose a grave danger to all who actually care about the United States as a democratic republic.
