A Tale of Two Standards:

1.  As a businessman with no prior political experience, President Trump sometimes tweets things that would be fine for someone in the private sector to say, but that violate some rule, written or unwritten, for what politicians are supposed to say.

Democratic reaction:  “Outrage! Investigation!! Special counsel!!! Impeachment!!!! PRISON!!!!!”

2.  “Democratic” socialist Representative-elect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez tweets a threat against the President’s son to target him with House subpoenas because she doesn’t like a meme he tweeted.  She backpedals after it’s pointed out that this is a clear violation of House ethics regulations against abuse of power and targeting citizens for exercising their free speech rights.

Democratic reaction: “Hey, she’s a newcomer to politics!  She didn’t know any better!  She didn’t mean any harm! It wasn’t really even a ‘threat!’  Say, why don’t you Republicans just chill out and quit being mean to her?!”

I think this proves how unfair it is to accuse the left of having no ethical standards.  In fact, they have so many ethical standards, it’s enough to make two completely different sets.

"Huckabee" preview

By Mike Huckabee

It’s just 17 days ‘till Christmas, but a new episode of “Huckabee” on TBN is already here, and we’ve packed it full of goodies for you!  I’ll talk about the latest news with Lt. Col. and former Rep. Allen West.  You’ll meet an amazing Huck’s Hero whose martial arts skills and faith in God led him to take on high-risk missions saving children from ISIS in Iraq.  Bestselling author O.S. Hawkins will drop by to talk about his latest “Code” book, “The Nehemiah Code.” I’ll have a chat with one of America’s most popular radio hosts, Delilah.  Add a double helping of great music from the legendary Charlie Daniels and rising country star Frank Foster.  Plus I’ll have timely commentaries, some crazy news “In Case You Missed It,” our terrific house band and more.

It all comes down your chimney, or through your cable wire, tonight at 8 and 11 EST, 7 and 10 CST, repeated the same times on Sunday, only on TBN.  To find your local TBN channel and to stream previous episodes of “Huckabee,” visit

New chief

By Mike Huckabee

President Trump will reportedly name Army Chief of Staff Gen. Mark Milley as the next Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.  Milley has a long and impressive military record, fought in the Iraq War, and did three tours in Afghanistan. It’s always better when top military brass have combat experience, understand how wars are won or lost, and know what the troops have to go through to complete the mission. Liberals have often attacked battle-hardened Pentagon leaders as being too militaristic, but I’d rather have decisions about wars made by people who’ve actually fought in them than by desk jockeys whose only battle experience was playing “Battleship” in their frat houses.

No champion of women

By Mike Huckabee

Sen. Kamala Harris had high hopes of riding the MeToo movement to the White House.  But that might have been derailed by this week’s revelation that a top staffer in her former office of California Attorney General (who followed her to Washington) was the cause of a $400,000 legal settlement to a female staffer who accused him of sexual harassment and other demeaning behavior.  And we’re not talking about subtle harassment but revoltingly piggish stuff, like making her wash his car or crawl under his desk to change the paper in his printer while he watched her. The type of vile sexist behavior we've come to expect from liberal TV and movie moguls.

The male staffer, who had been a top trusted aide to Harris for 14 years, resigned Wednesday. Harris claims she knew nothing about any of this.

Not even her former local newspaper is buying that.  There are more details in this link, along with the editors’ skeptical conclusion that either Harris is lying about not knowing a female staffer was being blatantly harassed, or she is a terrible manager whose staff insulates her from knowing what’s going on in her own office. Neither conclusion screams “Ready for the Oval Office,” and certainly not if she plans to run as a champion of women.

The Baltic Experience 2019

By Mike Huckabee

I am thrilled to announce an unforgettable trip to the Baltics for the summer of 2019! After many years of the Israel Experiences and our most recent trip the Mediterranean Experience cruise, we are bringing you another phenomenal cruise, the Baltic Experience! This all-inclusive cruise will feature some of the most beautiful places in the Baltic Sea and we will get to travel to and absorb these destinations aboard a luxury cruise ship from the Azamara Cruise line. If you have traveled with us before, you already know that all-inclusive means exactly that and there are no surprises along the way. The Baltic Experience will be no different. And when the weather is often unbearably hot throughout most of the US in August, we will be enjoying the cool and delightful weather that makes travel in the Baltic region perfect. Once again we have the entire ship and will fill our time on board with spectacular entertainment and special guests. In addition to the cruise we have multiple pre and post cruise offerings you can choose from to extend your trip. Our last cruise sold out in record time so we encourage you to get your cabin secured soon. We look forward to traveling with you soon and as always we will work tirelessly and do everything in our control to bring you The Greatest Trip.

See you on the boat,

Mike Huckabee

Student silliness

By Mike Huckabee

Welcome to the University of New Mexico, where the student senate voted unanimously to reject Education Secretary Betsy DeVos’ changes to Title IX policies on sexual assault and harassment to protect the rights of the accused, even though many of the students admitted that they did not read the document before voting against it.

Congratulations, kids!  Between your hostility to due process rights and your willingness to vote on bills you haven’t even read, you are now fully qualified to serve as Democrats in the actual Senate!

Best gift book of Christmas

By Mike Huckabee

Here’s a scary sign for the health of the publishing industry, and for literacy in general: Barnes and Noble released its annual list of the 20 best holiday gift ideas.  It includes mittens, a Buddha board, Mickey Mouse speakers, several kinds of socks…and only one book.

Even worse, it suggests that the people at Barnes & Noble don’t even know what the best gift book of Christmas 2018 really is:
