There’s an old saying: “When you find yourself in a hole, the first step is to stop digging.” Someone needs to tell that to Joe Biden.

Last week, Joe whacked a hornet’s nest by telling black radio host Charlamagne tha God that any black voters who couldn’t figure out whether to vote for him or Trump “ain't black." When the buzzing grew loud and scary, Joe sort-of apologized and claimed he was being a “wise guy.” But in an interview with CNN’s Dana Bash, he put a new twist on his excuse that’s making matters worse. He tried to put the blame for his bad answer on the host:

“I shouldn’t have been such a wise guy with him. He was being a wise guy, and I responded in kind. I shouldn’t have done that. It was a mistake.”

Okay, let’s rewind the tape. Here’s what Mr. tha God said that evoked Biden’s foot-in-mouth response. Referring to black voters, he said: “It’s a long way until November. We’ve got more questions.”

Biden: "If you have a problem figuring out whether you're for me or Trump, then you ain't black."

I’ve examined both comments closely, and I can’t find any hints of “wise guy” in the first or any hints of wisdom in the second. Someone should take Joe’s shovel away before he keeps on digging and ends up in China again.

By the way, congratulations to CNN for managing to conduct an interview that was so mindlessly puffball that it actually united Fox News hosts and a liberal writer from Mediate in agreement about how embarrassing and stupid it was.

One of the most popular spurious claims on the left, and one that’s getting harder and harder to repeat with a straight face, is the howler that the Obama Administration never had a "hint of scandal." They mistake “the media refused to report on all the scandals" for “the scandals didn’t exist.”

Since Joe Biden has started pushing this as a campaign theme, the RNC decided to put together an ad to remind people of what really happened, in case they spent 2009-2016 in a coma or watching CNN (same thing.)

The Pew Research Center reported that coronavirus rates are declining in Democratic areas but they "remained relatively steady districts controlled by Republicans." Well, that’s SORT-OF true, depending on how you look at it. Now, for the whole truth, click the link to see the graph that they based that headline on. And brace yourselves. It’s so fiendishly misleading, it’s almost like a Penn & Teller magic trick.

A belated Memorial Day Huck’s Hero salute to retired Marine Staff Sgt. Tim Chambers. One of the most disturbing facts of modern life is the shocking number of military veterans who commit suicide. To call attention to this crisis, on Monday, Chambers put on his dress blues and stood at attention in the median of a busy intersection in Washington, DC. For 24 hours straight, he stood at his post, taking no food, water or bathroom breaks. He has been doing this on every Memorial Day since 2002.

He also has a heart-rending hourly ritual involving a salute in recognition of the estimated 22 veterans a day who take their own lives. I won’t tell you more because I want you to click the link and read the whole story. He does this to draw attention to this terrible problem, and I want you to give him your full attention. Also to read about an organization he started called Saluting Marine Cares that pays medical bills for veterans that aren’t covered by the VA. And why are there any of those?

While the New York Times and other liberal media outlets are ghoulishly marking the 100,000th US death from the COVID-19 (Chinese) coronavirus and attempting to blame them on all President Trump (is he also responsible for all the deaths in other nations from the same worldwide pandemic unleashed by China?), questions are being raised about whether that number is remotely reliable.

There have already been criticisms that a number of deaths attributed to the virus were just people who happened to be carrying the virus, even if they died of something else and just picked up the virus when they were brought to the hospital. Some whistleblowers have also claimed that because of extra funding for those handling virus cases, there’s a financial incentive to label a death as being from COVID-19, even if it wasn’t, or if the victim had multiple co-morbidities such as old age, heart disease, diabetes or obesity. But this is definitely taking it too far.

A study by the Freedom Foundation of the official COVID-19 death toll from the Washington State Department of Health found that 82% of deaths “list some variation of ‘COVID-19’ in one of the causes of death” on the death certificate; 5% of the death certificates do not list COVID-19 as a cause of death, but as a “significant condition contributing to death;” and 13% involve persons who “had previously tested positive for COVID-19 but did not have the virus listed anywhere on their death certificate as either causing or contributing to death.”

Democratic Gov. Jay Inslee assailed the report as “dangerous,” “disgusting” and “malarkey” (man, Democrats love that word!) He also accused the Freedom Foundation of “fanning these conspiracy claims from the planet Pluto” and not caring about lives lost to the virus, even though the numbers came straight from his own Health Department.

And a spokeswoman for the DOH (or “D’oh!” as Homer Simpson would appropriately say) admitted that five people on the virus death list appear to have actually died from gunshot wounds. Oh, well, liberals blame of all those on Trump, too.

On the subject of malarkey that endangers public health, here’s another study showing that because of all the endless lockdowns and canceling of “non-essential” non-coronavirus medical procedures ordered by liberal Governors such as Inslee, nearly half of Americans have delayed getting needed medical care. This has resulted in serious outcomes, such as suffering strokes or heart attacks at home.

Maybe people should claim they’re having a heart attack because of the coronavirus, and then they’d actually be able to get into a hospital.

There are many Americans who don’t have direct deposit bank accounts and still haven’t received their stimulus payments to cope with the pandemic. Those are being mailed out in the form of pre-loaded debit cards. At the link is some information on what to look for in the mail and how to use them.

First and most important point: when you see a plain envelope that appears to contain a plastic debit card, DO NOT throw it away thinking it’s a come-on to get you to sign up for a credit card. It might be, but it might also be your $1200-a-person stimulus payment.

House Democrats were all set to vote on reauthorizing the use of advanced surveillance tools under the FISA court system, but they adjourned last night without voting after President Trump threatened to veto it. He tweeted, "Our Country has just suffered through the greatest political crime in its history. The massive abuse of FISA was a big part of it!"

Trump also urged Republicans to vote no "until such time as our Country is able to determine how and why the greatest political, criminal, and subversive scandal in USA history took place!”

Supporters of the FISA system argue that it’s needed to give intelligence agencies the tools they need to secretly intercept threats such as terrorist plots. However, as we’re learning more every day, when the people in charge don’t follow the rules, it can quickly become an unconstitutional, Soviet-style “secret court” system targeting US citizens without them even knowing it. We were assured that safeguards had been built in to prevent that, but they’re only as secure as the people entrusted to follow them – people like Peter Strzok, need I say more? I’m reminded of Benjamin Franklin’s comment on due process rights, that it’s better that 100 guilty men should escape than that one innocent man should suffer.

My “Huck’s Profiles in Cluelessness Award” goes to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who declared that we need to extend the FISA system because “if we don't have a bill, our civil liberties are less protected." Tell it to Michael Flynn! Come up with a bill that protects our civil liberties from the people running the FISA courts and then we’ll talk.

PS - Big props to Newsmax for picking the perfect photo to illustrate the story of Trump’s veto threat stopping this bill. I’ll bet when Nancy Pelosi pulled this little stunt for the cameras, she never imagined it being used to illustrate her own loss to Trump.

SAD Gov to see this today that you burn down your own city and places many have jobs . All to protest one man who was killed by a stupid police who was so wrong but not where you destroy a city because of this. Come to Atlanta get on and ck out the killings . See a few at one of our nice malls for here years and now a place to maybe be killed. See recently an Asian by 4 blacks. Daily we get car jackings, house invasions, robberies with killings. None of this makes anything right but now all of this per one man as a few thousand kill each other in Chicago. Why is this different? Is a life not a life no matter the color . Not all police react and do this over and over per all they face daily. No way for anyone to want this job now. Yesterday a policeman killed in N Dak going to a disturbance. We had a kind of quiet time for a couple of months and now it is getting bad again. See a black woman Dr at a gas station they try to take her Mercedes and purse and this is black men? So terrible what this police one man has done and those idiots here in Ga recently also but then let us show the rest of the whole story? Ask if most feel safe today in downtown Atlanta. Have a son 3x get his car robbed for a few years being in downtown. Sad? See a Target get cleaned out stealing TV and all kinds of things that we would all be arrested for. All I can say is ck out cities on the death rates and who and many you cannot even get who if they were white or if black today amazing. WHY? Who will have the money to rebuild what is now destroyed in this area of Minneapolis even to housing that was being built all new low income and burned? Yes, you can protest what we are but not steal and destroy. I just feel if this is how so many think this country is then why stay? I would pack and go. Keep saying not changing and for sure many police are not going to keep working like this and then all are attacked for a few bad apples. Media is not helping just like they did at Ferguson to fake and later know much was not the truth? Say pray .

Oh My! I find that, after reading each of your daily reports, I have to sit and ruminate until I can digest all of the content. They are so packed with, not just new news, but everything that's going on and it just takes time for me to get it all in perspective. I can't start my day without your reports; they guide me as the Holy Spirit guides you toward enlightening others. Thank you.

Someone should ask Joe Biden if he can love his enemies because had George Floyd voted for him it would not have saved George from being killed by the hatred...lack OF unconditional love....that killed him!!!!!!!

A follow-up question could be to ask Joe if he shared our Man of Sorrows' tears over the tragic loss of this black man's life!!!!!

What was once a nation under God...and HIS now a nation under hatred...and his heartbreak! Sure, not ALL Americans are not guilty of not loving one's enemies...with Christ's:UNCONDITIONAL love....but what fills our country's stories? Are they mostly stories of love, or hatred?

CHRIST'S BRAND OF UNCONDITIONAL LOVE...that, BECAUSE it is unconditional
loves one's THE only answer that is going to save this country from the death blow of the hatred that killed George Floyd and the death blow of the corona virus and I don't give a flip if the number of people who have died from the coronavirus is not REALLY as many AS 100, OO because, for ME, one death from this devastating virus is one death too John Donne wrote;......... "I'M INVOLVED IN MANKIND, THEREFORE EVERY MAN'S DEATH DIMINISHES ME"....

LACK OF Christ's UNCONDITIONAL love....therefore, a worse "unseen enemy" than is the coronavirus....So LOVE is the answer to the problem of HATRED that is killing our country...our fellow Americans...and one is EITHER a part of the SOLUTION (of love) or he is a part of the PROBLEM (of hatred) it is that black and white... HOWEVER....this does NOT mean that the sinner should not be brought to justice say it is to the degree that Christ's love loves the sinner that His love hates the sinner's sin or there would be no hell!

Thanks, Mike for the truth.. I always find time to read your articles so I know what to pray about. I feel very strongly that we not only need to pray for our president, but also for Attorney General Barr as he brings out the dirt on those involved.. someone MAY try to silence him. I didn't like the article that said there may not be any charges filed, but I know in the end, God's justice prevails.. HE sees... and He knows all... I do feel those involved should at the very least lose their retirement and all their benefits.! just my thoughts on it.

FB is giving "Your message couldn't be sent because it includes content that other people on Facebook have reported as abusive." as soon as I click the FB share button in the Lacortenews article on obama scandals! Didn't even give me a chance to click "post"! The truth may hurt, but it doesn't meet the definition of "abusive"!

Mike as U may recall I have been critical of Minneapolis and the Socialists/Dem. Party's leadership starting from its Mayor. Although I have never met him I judged him by his actions as I do with most people I found he lived up to all my thoughts I have about him. Today his Police station is burned to the ground as I believe the stand down orders were given the city is on fire Communications are shut down TV as far as least 30 miles from the city, the plan the mayor had for the police was to run and hide just as he did; millions of dollars of police equipment was set out to be destroyed by (protesters), Days a ago I called the mayor a coward and he did not disappoint he is not the only one the Governor is strong when he confronts the peace loving citizens of Minnesota when the terrorist arrives he is in a lockdown bunker shaking, crying in a fetal portion along with the Minneapolis PD the AG did not want to bring charges because he loves the idea of Minneapolis burning, terrorized the longer this goes on the happier he is. Like I said before I wish to stay at least 30 miles from Minneapolis I may have to extend that. Minneapolis take is if the other Liberal /Left led cities are miserable don't fight it join it. Misery is what they seek Misery found Minneapolis. May God help them.

The Pew Research Center report reminds me of the Russian joke where the USA and Russia were in a race. The USA won by an astounding margin and the Tass News Agency reported the finals. " Russia finished the race in second place while the pathetic Americans came in next to last.

A topic in progress towards raising the bar for as many groups as possible is immersion. Some cultures have lists of suitable names and higher test scores. Some cultures have sport powerhouse sports and sports of mediocrity. If candidate Biden is running for an office then he should at some point discuss the plans that he has for his decisions and the attempted trajectory of this country. I plan on voting for President Trump.

I have quoted this scripture a number of time to people but God placed something new on my heart and seeing you share this today, made me want to share my insight with you.

    Father, Son, & Holy Spirit
    By Pamela Flynt Knight

2 Timothy 1:7 King James Version (KJV)
7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

I am always amazed when God reveals new information in scripture. I don’t know why it surprises me because I do know and understand that the Bible is God’s living word. Today is one of those times when God revealed more of Himself to me.
I have told people a plethora of times that they need not to fear because of the reason stated in the above scripture. The world gives us so many things to be afraid of because it is Satan’s goal to keep us from God. But God has given is a Spirit of Love and of Power and of a Sound Mind.
Looking at this, we see not only a picture of our enemy, but we see the true nature of God. We see God’s trinity displayed in one simple sentence. God is love. He is our Father and the one who loves us far more than any other. Made in His image, we too have that same Spirit. Jesus came as a child but he was filled with the Power of God and he performed many miracles while living on this earth. He brought healing to many and spoke with authority. We are also given a comforter and teacher in the Holy Spirit. He lives within us that we can learn and grow. So love, power and a sound mind is a picture of how God works within us. We do not need to operate in the fear that Satan wants to throw in our face because we have the trinity living within us. We have the Spirit of love, the Spirit of Power and the Spirit of a Sound Mind to carry us through this life.
So, fear not! You are not given a spirit of fear, but you are given a Spirit of Love, Power and a Sound Mind.

When I read the Spin Class article about the Pew Research tweet(and I knew where it was heading ere I went to the referenced article itself--so obvious!), I was immediately reminded of an old chestnut from the Cold War days: as the story goes, there was this contest between Russia and the U.S. to prove who had the better athletes. They each selected their best, strongest and fastest runner and set them against each other in a five mile race. The American blasted by the Russian athlete early on and never looked back, only increasing the lead as he approached the finish line, leaving a gap of nearly a mile between himself and the competition. The next day the official newspaper of The United Soviet Socialist Republic featured this banner across its front page: RUSSIAN ATHLETE SAILS TO NEAR VICTORY IN EPIC CONTEST, U.S. COMES IN AT NEXT TO LAST PLACE! So, honestly, this Twitter post didn't surprise me at all. It's SO been done before!

No one is speaking about the annual number of deaths attributed to the normal flu season. Did the other strains of flu disappear during the Chinese Covid 19 outbreak? How are flu related deaths being catagorized, or are all flu related death automatically a Covid 19 issue along with your viral fuids leaking due to holes in your body. Thank God I live in AZ with a republican govener. Also I thought all the self quartining was to flatten the curve. Allowing time for the infrastructure to be set up, especially considering that hardly any PPE was manufacturered in the good old USA. No media is even speaking about how China stopped shipments of PPE.
Also consider Hawaii, I think the Govener would like the state to stay closed until the virus is completely solved. An impossibility considering we do not have a solution to the common cold.

    1) The Estimated death toll in the US was supposed to be 2200,000,000 ( 2.2 Million) but so far have fallen short 1.2 Million. That's what you get when you TRUST the Science. Of Course that's still too many but when you compare to PPH, auto , suicide, heart attack, etc. it's really just SUPER FLU on MEDIA STEROIDS...
    2) Just talked to a friend that admitted his mail was laying on his desk and he noticed the DEBIT card and told his worker to cut it up as he had no use for a debit card. It was for him & wife. I'll get back to how he fared with the IRS- He had been on the phone for hour and fifteen on HOLD when I talked to him.

In cities people burn their own way of life to the ground they steal from the same people that take care of them they inject stolen drugs from the drug store that keeps people alive and steal the booze to drive them more dangerous than they already are. Its happen many times and what is the result? What have you accomplished In Mlps the builders were trying to create new and better living conditions in a city filled with decay and they burned that to the ground how do you fix stupid? In the Urban world all they do is add another link to the chain of stupid. It just does not seem that the chain is getting shorter what will this generation of stupid teach the next generation? How to add another link to the chain of stupid thats what, Just a gigantic waste of the Human Race.

    Dear Governor,
I read your emails every day...and the Bible verses. Today, am wondering though about the "sound mind" part. Looking at the world, many have "sound minds"?

That being said...regarding what has happened in Minneapolis....perhaps I have read too many detective novels over my many years, but something does not "smell right" with the George Floyd case. Why, (unless mentally deranged or injured in some way) would that officer kneel on Floyd's neck so long, knowing full well all was being videotaped? And..the other 3 officers just standing idly by....doing nothing? Something is "off"....and then the riots and destruction that followed; and these demonstrations have spread to locations all across the country. And now...Al Sharpton is showing up in MInneapolis? Really? Why? Exactly what is HIS motive for coming to MN?

And...on another subject....draw a big circle around the metro areas of Minneapolis-St. Paul. Top of circle about 80 miles south of Duluth. That is the entire "metro area" in MN. They like to refer to the rest of us as "greater" MN...but we are not stupid...we KNOW we are really "outstate" to them.

Only time we are "greater" MN is when we have something they want....whether it is iron ore, farm products, fresh water (most of the over 11,000 fresh water lakes...and the beginning of the Mississippi River are in the northern half)...or many desire a vacation paradise location....or... votes.

If "outstate" MN is "Greater MN".... why has there been no CoVd-19 testing outside of the metro areas unless a patient is in hospital in critical care...or a health care worker? And...the first limited supply of tests just arrived in northern MN about 2 weeks ago.

When pure steel is once again needed in this country...remember the Hull-Rust Mahoning Mine Pit (one of the largest iron mine pits in the world) in northern MN. During WWII, men working 24/7 with equipment we would now consider primitive, provided the "easily accessible", high grade iron ore that produced approximately SEVENTY-FIVE PERCENT of the steel required for the ENTIRE Allied War effor in WWII....including the Lend-Lease program.
And...with our workers, our clean taconite production plants..and the Port of Duluth ..we still provide annually approximately 40 million tons of pure iron pellets.

Yes..."Outstate" IS "Greater MN".....for a lot of reasons....perhaps the "metro" areas should remember that fact.

Gov Huckabee: Would like to submit a comment regarding "Obama's claiming no scandals." I vividly remember watching THE FIVE months ago and the quote they read was that Obama said "his administration had no scandals that embarrassed us" (or words to that effect.). When Dana Perino got her turn to talk, she pointed out that the quote potentially had a double meaning. Either he was saying that there were no scandals, or there were no scandals that embarrassed us. The first potential meaning was simple: No scandals. The second potential meaning was that they just were NOT embarrassed by all the scandals. (And the Obama administration did have a lot of scandals during his 8 years.) Not to mention the BIG ONE that is right now in the making.

Governor, in 2017 you poked fun at legitimate research using shrimp on a treadmill. While you got a few laughs, it was at the expense of dedicated people engaged in serious research.
Animal research is at the heart of the quest for treatments and vaccines for the Chinese Virus. Without animal based research, it would take years to find solutions, if ever.
You could do these researchers a great service by featuring some of their work. They could use a boost, as even now they under attack from PETA and others.
I am not affiliated with any group or facilities involved with this work.
