House Democrats probably hoped that releasing their lengthy “impeachment” case with a vote set for 48 hours later would make it easier to sneak things past everyone, but sharp-eyed observers noticed that buried in all that text, they snuck back in the discarded allegations of bribery and “wire fraud” (Trump used the telephone) that don’t appear in their articles of “impeachment.”  In addition, Republicans pointed out that “none of the Democrats’ witnesses testified to having evidence of bribery, extortion, or any high crime or misdemeanor.”

Frankly, I’m surprised they didn’t accuse Trump of pulling off the Great Train Robbery and kidnapping the Lindbergh baby. As long as they’re filing articles of impeachment with no firsthand witnesses, no evidence, and "crimes" that exist only in their imaginations, why not go whole hog?

No matter what happens with impeachment in the Senate, and even if Trump is reelected next year, Democrats are vowing to keep impeaching him over and over.

This prompted a great comment from Ed Driscoll at the Instapundit blog:

“At the risk of going out on a limb, I only wish there was some way for the people of the nation to come together every four years to choose a new President, rather than burdening Congress with the task.”

As a staunch defender of the Constitution, I would never tell anybody that they don’t have the right to protest. That falls under freedom of speech, freedom of assembly and the right to petition the government for redress of grievances.  However, your right to protest does not give you the right to infringe on other people’s rights.  That’s what we’ve seen in recent years, primarily from the left: “protests” that involve screaming obscenities into people’s faces, threatening them and their families, vandalizing property and blocking public thoroughfares. The general rule should be that if an activity is already illegal, then claiming you’re doing it in the name of “protest” shouldn’t be a “Get Out of Jail” free card.

Unfortunately, leftist authorities in certain cities and way too many college campuses have taken the attitude that as long as the protesters are pushing an agenda they support, then they’re allowed to get away with anything short of murder, and their victims not only lose their rights, they are often blamed for “inciting” the violence against them by voicing their honest beliefs that the mob disagrees with.  One of the most outrageous examples I’ve seen lately (and it takes a whole lot of outrageous to stand out these days) happened at Chico State University in California.

Last weekend, I welcomed to my TBN show Brandon Straka, the founder of the #WalkAway movement.  (If you missed that show – and if you did, HOW DARE YOU?!! – it will soon be posted at ) Brandon is one of the nicest, most positive people I’ve ever met, and he makes it clear that he’s not urging people to walk away from the Democrats to join the Republicans, just to walk away until the Democratic Party renounces violence, threats and intolerance of different viewpoints.

The Chico College Republicans invited him to speak, and of course, leftist students went ballistic because words they don’t want to hear make them feel “unsafe.” As usual, Brandon kept smiling and tried to engage them in friendly conversation.  They were having none of it, as the video at this link shows (WARNING: this video is filled with obscene finger gestures and disgustingly vile language, courtesy of the cream of America’s higher education system.)

The leftists also blasted the College Republicans with loud music, ripped their signs out of their hands, and attempted to hit them. After watching that uncivilized garbage from these Chico Marxists, can you guess who the California Faculty Association, the state’s union of college educators, claims is responsible for it? That’s right: the College Republicans.

The CFA claims that while, of course, the Republicans have First Amendment rights (Really? Nice to finally hear!), they support President Trump, who is associated with “white supremacist ideas,” so merely by using the President’s name, they are provoking all the poor members of various leftist identity groups who have recently suffered so many “ongoing acts of harassment and even physical abuse,” of which they offered no examples.  I could give them plenty of examples of harassment and physical abuse of students who identify as Republicans, but that doesn’t move them because, they say, “the hypocrisy of right-wing political voices crying out that they are being silenced is absurd. No one in authority is silencing them.”

No, the authorities just stand back and let leftist mobs silence them, knowing that they will face little to no consequences from administrators who tacitly support their fascist tactics.

Note to parents: in-state tuition to Chico State is $7,040 a year, and if you actually want to come from out of state to attend, it’s $18,200 a year.  I’ll leave it to you to decide if exposing your kids to this is worth that.

I wrote elsewhere today about liberal protesters who think they have a right to block traffic because their “cause” is more important than everyone else’s lives.  Well, about a dozen “climate change” activists in Worcester, Massachusetts, took that to a new level by thinking they could block the path of a coal-hauling freight train.  They were wrong.

They stood on the tracks in front of the oncoming train, whose driver was alerted and leaned hard on the whistle, but they didn’t move…until they realized the train was not stopping, and they decided not to become Darwin Award contenders and got out of the way.  I guess they do want to hang around until the world ends in 12 years after all, and standing in front of moving freight trains isn’t a good way to insure that.

A man named Danny Anderson on Twitter posted a series of tweets in response to the story that I think are well worth quoting:

“As a professional train driver I applaud this guy. Whilst it’s good that no one was injured, it would have served the idiots on the track right if they had been struck. A train is NOT an automobile and takes a lot of distance…to stop.

People don’t even begin to comprehend the stress and emotional/psychological affect this has on drivers.  (A)side from knowing that you’ve maimed or killed another person through no fault of your own, the worry over losing your livelihood hangs like a dark cloud…

Suicide by train is more common than people realize and is something that drivers consider many times a day. Stunts like this should be emphatically (prosecuted) because of the distress they cause and for the absolute and utter disregard that they show for anyone other than them.”

There are many very good points there, both about the physics of how long it takes for a freight train to come to a complete stop and the selfish disregard for other people. We get it, your cause is important to you.  But the surest way to make other people not care is to act like selfish jerks about it, whether that means standing in front of a moving train or blocking traffic when people are trying to get to work or school or the airport on time, or when an ambulance or fire truck is trying to reach an emergency.  That doesn’t win people over to your side, it just makes them wish you WOULD go stand in front of an oncoming freight train.

For those who still care, here’s blogger Lawrence Person’s latest handy round-up of news about the Democratic Presidential race (or as he puts it, the "clown car.")  The big news is that the fifth (!) debate will be held Thursday, and it could answer the question, “What if the Democrats had a debate and nobody showed up?”

I’m not talking about the TV audience; they’re already not showing up.  I mean the candidates. Thanks to the arcane rules about polling levels and donors, only seven mostly very white people qualified for the debate anyway, which sparked protests from Cory Booker, among others.  Tulsi Gabbard decided just to skip it and campaign in Iowa and New Hampshire.  And all seven who did qualify are threatening to boycott if they have to cross a picket line by the food service workers’ union.

All I can say is that if those workers save me from having to spend a night of the Christmas season watching another deadly Democratic debate, then I hope they get everything they’re striking for.

Looks like we won’t have “Beto” O’Rourke to kick off our diner counters anymore.  First, he dropped out of the Presidential race, and now, he’s decided not to challenge Republican Sen. John Cornyn for his Texas seat.  That’s left the Texas Democratic Party scrambling for potential candidates.

As for all the coastal liberal donors who have millions of dollars to waste, they could just send it to Pete Buttigieg instead.

I do respectfully disagree with you about protesting. Yes the constitution guarantees our right to a peaceful gathering and protest. But it does not guarantee the right to violence, destruction of property or obstruction of traffic. This is extremely unconstitutional because it violates the rights of other people. Peace does not violate the rights of others, what these people do does violate the rights of others. Therefore, they should be arrested and maybe learn what the constitution actually means and stands for.
    Thank you for your time.

I walked away from the Democratic Party 20 years ago. I am a Christian who believes in traditional marriage. When all of the Democratic candidates for President came out in favor of homosexual marriage that year, my lifelong association with the party ended. Since my views have never changed, it would be more accurate to say the Democratic Party walked away from me. The party today is opposed to democracy, with its requirements of free speech and elections and due process of law. In that sense, it isn't very different from the party that came to power in Germany in the 1930's. It cost the previous generation plenty to bring that party to an end. It would be great if the 2020 election could reform or bring this party to an end. For the American people to hold its political leaders accountable would fulfill our highest ideals and the ideals of the Founding Fathers.

Your newsletter today proves once again - you can't be a democrat and be an adult. Adulthood is when you assume responsibility for your actions, and no democrat since 1968 has accepted responsibility for any of their stupid "Malarkey".

When are the Republicans going to learn...NO MATTER what is done other than a FULL Fledged open forum trial the Democrats are going to have "believable" claims of a sham of Impeachment procedures. The Democrats are going to waste the tax payers money no matter maybe with a full-balls to wall trial with Democrats/Republicans witnesses is the only way "WE THE PEOPLE will have a better chance to get the American form of justice back on track again and with jail time for the abusers and liars who broke the law being put away in prison not some damn prison resort either....hard time for hard crimes against the people.
The American people will require decades to near to fully trusting the American system again and it is going to require many people (long after Trump/others), to make the hard choices and take responsibility for those choices. Hopefully, those choices will be for America first and their paychecks status second or better if no priority at all of income.

I think that if the democrats are going to keep going after President Trump the should have to use their own money. I know that they have stolen money out of the Social Security funds that should be protected for those who paid into it, plus money from other programs and they have not done the jobs they were elected to do. Let them pull this shams with their own money. Better yet, send them all to jail for lying and theft. It where they belong.

How can anyone with any sense at all vote to impeach a President without any evidence? Hearsay evidence is not suppose to be allowed in a Court of Law. The way the Democrats are doing this is really scary because they want to change the rules to suit themselves and not give our President an opportunity to defend himself from the tales or lies as they could be called. No one should be prosecuted with a whistleblower that refuses to identify himself. He may not exist except in the minds of the evil ones. As for these children marching for Climate control, they need to start going to Church and praying to God because he is the only one that can control the Climate. If they think they only have a few years, they need to prepare their souls to meet their savior and obey his commandments to win a better home in heaven. Hell is just a breath away. One simple thing they could do to help the earth is to help pick up all of the trash that is thrown everywhere. What an eyesore. Instead of marching, get out and work and do something.

I have just about had enough of this political sham.
Mcconnel and Graham(however their there names are spelled) are NOT doing the American folks a favor here--they DO NOT represent the Executive office--they represent the Constitution Of The United States--and they should act as such.
The dems have acted in a manner that many think should be treated as treason or sedition--I agree with that assessment---be that as it may, it does NOT require an unbridled retribution for those failures--actions that are just as heinous as the ones perpetrated by the opposition--doing this only lowers the opposition to the level of the perpetrators--and this includes trump---he promised to drain the swamp, but he is part of the swamp--you can't have it both ways-

They are still having debates? I hadn't noticed.

On Rush today, he was saying that obama has come up with changes that need to be made in who can be President. Seems we need to make sure that younger generations take over from old men who have been in politics for a long time. Oh, old, white, male, in his/her 70's or 80's should be disqualifed. Rush said that would take care of biden, bern, bloomberg. But seemed to think pocahontas would be "okay." But--I don't think so. She turned 70 this year, puts her over the age limit. And, she's white. She only meets the qualification of not being male.

Sounds like some Democrats may be having second thoughts especially since they were elected by a few votes. I am from Alabama and don’t like Jones, but heard he was going to vote against. He was elected with lots of out of state money .. I know signs were held everywhere on voting day. I don’t think he will go back in regardless how he votes. I believe people are seeing evil and lies.
