Today's Edition

I’ve said for a long time --- and today I’m in very good company --- that if you want to know what Democrats are doing, look at what they’re accusing Republicans of doing. It just keeps happening, over and over, and it happened again yesterday, with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s oddly timed statement that because of her deep commitment to the Constitution and the law (sure, Nancy), she was initiating a congressional impeachment inquiry against President Trump.

Never mind that her announcement means essentially nothing, as the House Judiciary Committee was already doing an “inquiry” and the full House hasn’t even voted on conducting one, as they are supposed to do. The idea here is mostly to take attention OFF what THEY are doing or have done. In this case, what the Democrats, specifically the Hillary campaign/DNC and the Biden family, have done relative to Ukraine and other foreign entities is so serious that, in their minds, they really have no choice but to try some misdirection: go after Trump on the mere hint that he might have done something similar. So now, after all the other accusations and investigations have fizzled, they’re off and running again.

With gratitude,

Mike Huckabee

"Witch Hunt"

By Mike Huckabee

Here was President Trump’s response to the latest House Democratic impeachment hysteria-sans-evidence. If you’re short on time, the keywords include “ridiculous” and “witch hunt.”

To be clear, I think that if any political figure actually committed impeachable offenses, then the evidence should be made public and the person held to account, regardless of party.  But I guess I’m hopelessly old fashioned because I have this outmoded idea that you should see some evidence of wrongdoing BEFORE launching impeachment hearings.  I guess launching the investigation a day before seeing the evidence is at a least a step back in the right direction for the Democrats; during the Kavanaugh hearings, they were arguing for doing away with evidence and due process entirely.

I suppose they might claim biased and unverified news stories are “evidence,” but their reaction to them has been sort of like someone pressing the fire alarm button because they heard that some unknown person claimed to have overheard that someone had been playing with matches.

Now, it’s Speaker Pelosi and her Romper Room full of hyperactive children who are playing with fire.  They’d better pray that Trump is only releasing the transcript of that call so quickly because it’s totally incriminating and he really wants to be impeached just so he never has to deal with these screeching toddlers and their never-ending tantrum again.  Hey, it’s a possibility!  But I wouldn’t bet my party's political future on it.

Federal judge throws out convictions

By Mike Huckabee

Believe it or not, there were other things happening in the news Tuesday besides House Democrats leaping off a cliff like lemmings and blindly hoping there might be some evidence against Trump at the bottom to cushion their landing.  For instance, there was this story:

Tuesday, a federal judge threw out convictions against an ex-business partner of former Trump National Security Adviser Michael Flynn.  See if any of this sounds vaguely familiar:

A jury convicted him of acting as an unregistered Turkish foreign agent.  But his attorneys presented evidence that he intended to register under the Foreign Agents Registration Act until a lawyer advised him it wasn’t necessary. A spokesman for Turkey’s President also called the allegation that Turkey would conspire against the US “preposterous.”  Throughout the trial, the judge criticized the prosecution, and finally threw out the jury's guilty verdict on grounds that the prosecutors had presented no substantial or competent evidence to back up their case.  And yes (brace yourself), this prosecution was spun off from Robert Mueller’s investigation.

This humiliating judicial smackdown could be just a taste of what’s coming down the pipeline from the DOJ and Inspector General about what was really going on in the DC swamp.  Of course, you likely didn’t hear about it because of all the “IMPEACHMENT! IMPEACHMENT!” jabber drowning out the other news.  I have a feeling that’s the point: “IMPEACHMENT!” is the Democrats’ desperate version of having a scantily-clad lady distract us from a bad magician’s trick blowing up in his face.  It worked for one day, but it'll take one very loooong striptease to distract the public from everything that’s coming over the next few weeks.

Surveilling Team Trump

By Mike Huckabee

Speaking of Michael Flynn and what’s coming soon from the IG, this is an excellent deep-dive from Eric Felton of Real Clear Investigations into just how many members of the Trump team were put under surveillance using questionable-if-not-illegal FISA court warrants.  And yes, Flynn was among them.

One detail that won’t surprise you: the claim that these people were under FISA-approved surveillance surfaced during a House hearing when Rep. Sheila Jackson-Lee blabbed their names into the record, and when told that might be classified, replied that no, they’re in the newspaper and on the public record.  Uh…no, they weren’t.

And as always, if reading all these names and twists leave you as dazed and confused as Sheila Jackson-Lee, check out our fun and easy refresher course in the convoluted “Russian collusion” fable, “American Spies.” It’s “Huckabee” writer Laura Ainsworth’s recounting of the whole sordid Mueller affair in song, set to the tune of “American Pie.”

##Appellation##, I wanted to make sure you also read these comments:

To help prep you for the fallout soon to some from the Democrats’ cranial detonation, Peter Schweizer, president of the Government Accountability Institute and author of “Clinton Cash” and “Secret Empires,” has listed seven essential facts you should know about the Biden family’s financial dealings in Ukraine and China.  That’s an awful lot of essential facts for a “debunked conspiracy theory.”

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez took a break on Twitter from demanding impeachment before seeing any evidence to tweet out video that she claimed was taken with a special camera and showed invisible toxic gas emissions coming from a fracking site in Colorado.

But as local officials, even some fellow Democrats, quickly pointed out, the video showed nothing of the kind.  Not only was no fracking taking place at that site, but the “special camera” was just an infrared camera, and the “invisible toxic gas emissions” weren’t gas at all, they were just heat.  There is more toxic gas emitted from AOC’s Twitter feed  than from that site.

Now counting down to her claiming that heat emissions from places that look like fracking sites are a leading cause of climate change.

This lawless president has taken an assault rifle and massacred everyone walking down 5th Avenue. Now we'll see if America's "Christians" will care. You are a despicable religious shyster!
P.S. My regards to your "lovely" daughter.

Seems ocasio is techno-savvy enough to make it seem like she's somewhere, where she is not (as in her dramatic posing at a chain link fence in a parking lot somewhere) and to upload some video that she has no idea what it is about. You'd think she'd be techno-savvy enough to google (or duckduckgo) for real information from real experts in whatever area she is wading into, instead of making stuff up. Of course, seems she was with the democrat Representative from COLORADO who you would think would know what is going on in that great state. I have often said, not all democrats are drinking the kookaide thrown about by the extreme socialist/leftists--and Mary Throne proves that statement. I know a lot of democrats who have not yet drank the kookaide--regular citizens and even some politicians.

Good to hear. It is what we should expect from any former military person. Good job Vice Admiral Maguire. It's too bad there aren't any former military in the Justice department or some other folks who, like every single military officer in the US armed forces, took the following oath (and know not to quibble about it):

I, [name], do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.

Dear Governor, an old joke for you.......with a new "twist".....

Once upon a time...a long time ago...there was a man named Johnny who wanted nothing more in life than to be a Broadway stage actor.
So he studied and studed, took acting classes, attended many, many auditions, but was never selected for an acting role.

He had nearly given up hope, when.... suddenly....he was selected for a very small acting role in a new Broadway play, the setting of which was in ancient times.

The director of the play approached him and said, "Johnny, I know this is a very small part --only one line--but it is THE most important line of the entire show because it sets the tone for the whole play!" Then she said... "So be sure to practice and practice and perfect your line!"

Thus, for several matter where Johnny happened to be....he would practice his line....."HARK! I hear a cannon!"; "Hark! I HEAR a cannon!"; "HARK! I hear a CANNON!"

Opening night arrives, the stage curtains are closed, the stage is dark. Johnny, in his costume is poised for entry on one end of the darkened stage. The director comes up to him and she says...."Are you sure you know your line? Remember.... it sets the tone for the whole play!"
Johnny abruptly turns to her and exclaims "HARK! I hear a CANNON!" "Excellent!" The director replies...and she leaves the stage.

The audience can be heard gathering, speaking, whispering, moving around. Then suddenly the house lights dim....and the audience sits in expectant silence.

The stage curtains open, the stage lights go on, and Johnny strides to his speaking area.....and SUDDENLY.....there is a loud BOOM....and a projectile flies over Johnny's head! Startled, Johnny looks up and loudly exlaims "WHAT THE HECK WAS THAT!!!???"
So....yes.....perhaps the title of this extremely long "The Witch Hunt".

If President Trump looked cross eyed at a doorman they would cry Impeach, but since they have then lets take a look at Joe Biden using his V.P. status to threaten a country with withholding funding if they don't cease and desist investigating his son's dealings. Why aren't the Republicans crying for answers there? Why are the Republicans silent on most issues? I just don't get it.

For those who do not speak "democ-rat", I have provided a translation of Nanny Pelosi's comments regarding impeachment. She said in democ-rat "no one is above the law" In Standard English that means "No Republican is above the law, and we will abuse our powers to protect crooked democ-rats (like Biden) from any legal involvement". Convweniently, this latest flap comes at a time when the democ-rats desperately need something to distract people from the coming DOJ IG report on the FISA court abuses, Of course CNN et al will tell us all about the 'whistle-blower" complaint, and bury the IG report in a short item after the sports.
