For all of us who knew “the fix was in” on Hillary and the investigation of her mishandling of classified emails and destruction of evidence, the anticipation of Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s report has been like waiting for Godot. (Spoiler alert if you don’t know the play: Godot never arrives.) Now, sources tell Sara A. Carter that our worst fears about this interminable delay may be well-founded, as the report now sits in the hands of the DOJ and FBI.

Now wait just a minute! Aren’t the DOJ and FBI the subjects of this report? Yes, they are. And the report is expected to be scathing. But they get to see it before we do, and no doubt they’ll do whatever they can to lessen its impact: edit, add notes, change wording, redact. Numerous sources tell Carter that everyone mentioned in the report gets to review it before it sees the light of day. The 400-page report (some say 500) is expected to be extremely thorough –- and it better be, considering how long this has taken. Work started almost a year and a half ago.

Although the report has been finished for several weeks, its release has been repeatedly delayed. (Unbelievably, sources told Carter that Horowitz originally delayed releasing it until former FBI Director James Comey’s book tour was over! But I’m thinking that maybe he wanted to find out what Comey was saying in interviews.) It’s not known how long the current review process is going to take. Gosh, it sure will be ironic if the report turns out to criticize the DOJ and FBI for stonewalling, slow-walking and heavily redacting documents, because that’s what they’re probably doing with it RIGHT NOW.

Won’t it be hilarious if it turns out they redacted the part about all the wrongful redacting they do? Of course, somebody would have to get it un-redacted for us to ever know they did that.

Commentary continues below advertisement

Now, who might that person be? Alleged Attorney General Jeff Sessions recused himself from the investigation into Trump’s campaign, but this IG report has nothing to do with that. It’s about the way Hillary’s use of a private server to conduct State Department business was investigated --- or not --- by the DOJ and FBI. We already know that her “investigation” was handled very differently from most, so much so that I often feel compelled when discussing it to put quotation marks around the word “investigation.”

Anyway, there is no excuse for Sessions to retreat from this. He needs to take control of it and shine some light on it or be fired. This report concerns Hillary; it has nothing to do with the investigation of Trump, so if Trump fires Sessions over it, no one can say it’s obstruction. (Well, Chuck Schumer and everybody at MSNBC will call it obstruction, but it won’t be.)

So we wait. In the meantime, Congress is still conducting oversight hearings. Members of the Senate Judiciary Committee are trying to get Andrew McCabe’s testimony, but he reportedly wants immunity first. (Please don’t give him that; subpoena him and make him plead the Fifth if necessary.) And Bill Priestap, head of the FBI’s counterintelligence division and Peter Strzok’s former boss, was reportedly very cooperative during a closed-door hearing with members of the House Judiciary and Oversight committees.

According to a report in The Hill, Priestap was involved in changing the description of Hillary’s handling of classified emails from the potentially criminal “grossly negligent” to “extremely careless.” He also reviewed and edited the comments James Comey made in July 2016 that he would not be recommending criminal charges against Hillary. It’s good that they got him on the record.

So progress is being made on some fronts, But we’ll have to start screaming for some heads if the IG report is allowed to languish in the very departments it threatens to expose.

Why not post names and phone #s of those who are stonewalling and allow we the people to send requests/ complaints this week.

Thank you, Mike, for keeping on top of this for us. I'm hoping and praying that this report will be fully revealed and that justice will be served on Hillary Clinton. There is no reason that she should get away with all the crimes she has committed. She is NOT above the law and should be treated the same as anyone else who commits similar crimes! Please know that we appreciate your efforts on this and other subjects. Thank you.

Liar McCabe, no immunity except from punishment by FBI or DOJ sources who want to punish him for his testimony. I am convinced, he won't tell the truth even IF he has immunity. He is guilty of or complicit in too many crimes he KNEW better than to commit. The answer should be a cold NO! "You lied, not it's time to pay" He needs to be made an example of. And yes, when he pleads the 5th, the question should be so stated that he is implicated as guilty. We already KNOW he's guilty. Pleading the fifth only confirms it. We need a ton of dems in jail, no mercy and tell Al Sharpton to shut up and go home!

Thanks for remembering D-Day Normandy(June 6, 1944). Also, let's not forget D-Day Africa, D-Day Sicly, and D-Day Italy. There were thoudands of allied troops fighting in Italy months before Normandy. Rome fell to the US 5th Army on June 5, 1944. Troops of the US 5th Army and the British 8th Army were engaging the enemy across the entire Italian peninsula. The US Army 15th Air Force, based in Italy, contributed significantly to the allied air campaign. Some of the heaviest fiighting of World War II occured in Italy in such places as Anzio. One squadron of the 15th Air Force lost every plane in a mission over Germany.

UHG! The beat goes on! Unbelievable! Oh, wait.... Maybe this supports the idea that The President and his lawyers should have all the information Mueller has gathered on HIM. Hmmm Who are the clintons paying to get this process to work?

Governor, I really appreciate your newsletters. I have just one little comment, actually a rant; in regards to the media 'hunting' Melania. For goodness sake, the lady just had surgery, she is probably trying to recover. From experience, recovery at home is the most important, especially the peace and quiet. The media people, if you want to call them that, is pathetic. No character, No morals or values, NO RESPECT, and completely lacking in society skills. No wonder the American people are fed up with them. Isn't there something we the people can do to start fighting back the degeneracy of this group. Wishing Melania a speedy recovery and good health.

Something needs to be done about this immediately. President Trump has talked about closing the borders and keeping MS 13 out and end child sex trafficking so why is no one from the government doing anything about this? If you can help please do, I feel we need to send out the national guard and anyone else trustworthy to investigate this. The local police are refusing to do anything. Here is the website, check it out, this is very disturbing. VOP Alpha Co - Team Pulask

These people have been begging for help but getting none other than from citizens. We need to move quickly on this as there are those who want them out of there and to get back to work on their tunnels.

Sessions won't do anything. He wanted the job of AG and he is going to sit at the top of DOJ letting everyone do exactly as they wish. But there is one thing that the President can do and that would be to declassify the entire report and drmsnd it be released in its entirety. Anyone with objections could make them out in the open the way we Citizens do when we get in trouble.
The DOJ and all its appointees serve at the pleasure of the President and if they don't like the idea of the report being released then they can quit or disobey and be fired.
By my way of thinking, the DOJ would probably run better without Sessions and Rosenstein.

So, so upsetting how all this is being handled. I get so discouraged about our so-called government. Nothing but crooks at the hill and they are getting paid for being crooks, I am so outraged about what is not being done with so-called Mrs. Clinton and her husband!!!!!!!!!!! They both should have been locked up long time ago and also the former President!!!!!!!!!!!! All I can say for sure they will answer for all their crimes when they stand before our Lord, unless they asked for forgiveness from the American people. Thank you for letting me express my comments and in the meantime I continue to pray for our Country, our leaders that God would keep them safe. Janet Beckman

Sessons should be fired by Trump now. He is useless and gutless. Too bad, he got the position under false circumstances. The so called report being seen by all the people under investigation is a complete joke. By the time we see it, there will be nothing left to see. They all will protect themsleves. Corrupt government! Once it stood for something honorable. Now it stands for the liars, and the unsavory people they are. They act like a 3rd world country. I am ashamed of them all.

    Hello Mike,

Trump needs to warn Sessions that if he doesn't do any thing about the justice department releasing docs about the Hillary situation his lack of assistance will cause it to be permanent ( maybe he's the leaker?)

This almost sounds like the "President Can Pardon Himself," and I don't believe that this is right or legally possible if put forth to the Supreme Court. In my opinion NOBODY should be exempt from accountability.
My question is if the DOJ and FBI report into the President, should not the President be able to see the IG's unmodified and unredacted report, like Cousin and Wray. Why can't he just demand a copy then decide what if anything should be changed or not shown to whomever ???? Let's drain the swamp !!!

    06/06/2018 01:13 PM

This investigation has gone on way to long, however now it's getting juicy! Comey is in really big trouble because of his arrogance and the
Strozk emails have proved it. The President needs to stay away from Mueller, and now that the entire debacle has cost us taxpayers over
$25 million it really needs to stop. I also think Sessions needs to step down, nice guy, but not strong enough, and the President needs to pardon Flynn as it's been determined he didn't do anything wrong. We need to clone "Mad Dog" as he would be a great head of the DOJ!

Governor Huckabee cant someone as the President when is the President going to remove the obstructionist at the DOJ and FBI and get on with fixing this ridiculous fiasco? When is Congress going to hold all of these people in contempt and bring witness to valid these executives in power are trying to overthrow our constitutional lives?

Mike: The only confidence I can have in all this corruption is I know that God in His sovereignty is in control. Otherwise, we would literally be "dead in the water".
Last evening, I watched Laura Ingraham. Her guest, Gennifer Flowers, rightly asked the question: "Why has there been no effort to sue Bill Clinton, and no efforts to also sue Hillary Clinton as a co-conspirator, over Mr. Clintons sexual harassment of numerous women?" That has happened to Bill Cosby and others. Why not Clinton? GOOD QUESTION! Your comment?

    Dear Governor Huckabee,

I wanted your take on why in the world does Hillary get away with things scott free? I don't believe in a moment she accidentally erased those e-mails, and all that they were only about family special events. Is she that powerful and do you think she schemes like the devil does? So no one can catch her sin? Do you think people in that circle of mess, are afraid of her in some way? Would appreciate your opinion.

Yes, Mike I am now screaming for heads. McCabe, Rosenstein, Strok, age, Comey, and Lynch. This smells to high heaven. We';; find out if Horowitz is a better man that Comey, nd Mueller who are dishonorable to the core. So what's this jerk from UTAH doing? Or is he yet another crook. I guess, DT is going to be forced to jump in with both hands full of clubs to get to the bottom of this. Two-tier justice system? Saucier vs Hilary? Comey? McCabe, two former AGs rotten to the core? Every lawyer who worked directly for the ovomit? The stench is almost over powering and I'm in Texas.

I am so thankful for you. I am a Christian and get so confused at the seemingly endless efforts of the DOJ and FBI, not to mention the press, to confuse all issues relating to Hillary, to put her in the innocent victim category. Thank you (and your awesome daughter) for your keen instincts and intellect! Keep up the good work. While I cringe at some of President Trumps language, I voted for him and will again. I do donate to your wonderful cause periodically. I too am a proud Arlie....born in Alma, raised in Ft. Smith, educated in Fayetteville! Ooooo Pig. Sooooie !!!!!
