Civility my...

Hillary Clinton claims that if the Democrats win back the House and/or Senate next month, “civility can start again.”  So does that mean they’ll stop cursing us, calling us rapists and Nazis and white supremacists, destroying our property, slandering our reputations, threatening our families, assaulting us on college campuses, screaming at us in restaurants, and shooting us at charity baseball games?  Does she mean that if we go along with their protection racket by giving them more power over our lives, that they’ll suddenly start acting like civilized adults again instead of a crazed, violent mob?

No deal.

Latest example of the left's "If you want civility, bow down to us!" tactics...

And to give you an example of Hillary’s own definition of “civility,” here she explains why there’s a “significant difference” between the accusations of rape and sexual assault against her husband and those against Trump and Kavanaugh.  Yes, a number of differences, including that Hillary told us to believe the accusations against Republicans.

Nikki Haley shows how it's done as she announces departure

United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley has class.

The Trump opposition and “mainstream” media (but I repeat myself) do not.

After Haley announced on Tuesday that she would be leaving her post at the end of the year –- as she reportedly advised Trump six months ago that she would do ---the media exploded with speculation about the reasoning behind her departure.  Did she and the President have an irreparable parting of the ways?  Did she disagree with him on foreign policy?  Was she planning to launch a primary challenge against him in 2020?  Or –- perhaps the most popular theory on the left, since Haley is female –- did she disagree with Trump’s handling of the Kavanaugh confirmation process in light of Christine Blasey Ford’s allegations?  And, horrors, does this mean the Trump foreign policy will now descend into disarray and utter chaos?  Does it signal the end of the world?  Should we all start building bomb shelters in our back yards?

Questions, questions.  I have a question myself:  How many people in Washington can be credited with serving a totally unblemished time in office and leaving on a high note with good feelings all around?

She’s receiving nothing but praise from the President (who also deserves some credit, for appointing her) and from Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.  Sen. Chuck Grassley tweeted:  “I’m very sad that Nikki Haley is resigning because she was such a firm/strong voice for the American people at the U.N.  She was uncompromising on human rights and religious freedom (in) an area where the US has been weak in the past...”  Indeed, the real question here is not why she’s leaving, but who is going to fill her shoes, which have always been planted firmly on the ground.  Trump says he’ll announce a replacement within weeks.

Haley’s decision to take a long-needed break after years of governorship and ambassadorship makes perfect sense, and she outlines it well in a lovely and completely positive letter to the President.

Hurricane Michael

Residents of the Florida Panhandle are bracing for Hurricane Michael, which is being described as a “monstrous” and potentially historic storm.  Yes, for those who are concerned, I do have a home in the storm’s projected path, and we’ve been very busy battening down the hatches, preparing and praying.  I hope everyone else does, too.  Please keep tuned to local news for the latest weather bulletins and evacuation orders.  And of course, your prayers for everyone in the storm’s path are much appreciated.

Here’s another reminder that this Friday, the fact-based film “Gosnell: The Trial of America’s Biggest Serial Killer” opens nationwide.

You can see a trailer and find out more about the film and its stars and where it will be playing near you at

I will also have the film’s director and star, Nick Searcy, as my guest on next weekend’s episode of “Huckabee” on TBN.  I hope you will support this film because it is a very important story that reveals the truth about the horrors of abortion clinics that hide behind the mantle of “protecting women’s reproductive rights” in order to dodge the most basic oversight and hygiene standards while committing genocide on unborn children.

NPR turned down a sponsorship by the film, and Facebook blocked ads for it.  It seems that both mainstream media and social media don’t want you to see it.  Hollywood certainly doesn’t: despite a highly-credentialed cast (including Dean Cain) and production team, no studio would fund it, so it became the most successful crowd-funded film campaign in history.  A lot of people think this film needed to be made and put their money where their morals were.

Now, it’s up to you to turn out and see it, to learn the truth about the Philadelphia abortionist now serving life in prison who might still be practicing his evil, deadly ways if the pro-abortion politicians and media who covered for him for years – and in a way, continue to do so -- had their way.

Whatever happens...

A writer for Stephen Colbert backtracked from her disgusting, now-deleted tweet (“Whatever happens, I’m just glad we ruined Brett Kavanaugh’s life”) by claiming it was a sarcastic joke.  The reason nobody recognized it as a joke is because she’s a writer for Stephen Colbert.

The story about the special ed teacher in Minnesota who wrote a tweet urging someone to “take one for the team” and kill Brett Kavanaugh is apparently true, and she’s on paid leave while authorities investigate.  Sickening that this is someone entrusted with teaching our most vulnerable children.  Let’s hope the authorities teach her, and all deranged leftists who gin up violence toward those who don’t share their politics, a very important lesson.  More details at the link.

 New stunner from AOC

The story of the Minnesota teacher who allegedly called for the assassination of Brett Kavanaugh makes us question just who is teaching our children.  But then, that question has already come up a lot lately – like every time “Democratic” Socialist media darling Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez says anything about history, economics or government.  Her stunning lack of knowledge of the basics of those topics is causing some to ask if they’re handing out college degrees in Crackerjack boxes these days.

Her latest stunner involves the Electoral College, which, like all leftists still smarting from Hillary Clinton’s electoral vote defeat, Ocasio-Cortez wants to abolish.  The usual cry is that “it’s not fair” that a candidate can win the popular vote and lose in the Electoral College – never mind that all candidates know going in that the goal is to win states, not the popular vote (if Hillary chose to run up her meaningless vote total in blue states Trump already conceded while ignoring swing states whose electoral votes she needed to win, that’s not an indictment of the electoral system, it’s a sign that Hillary shouldn’t be put in charge of anything involving intelligent strategy-making.)  But Ocasio-Cortez added a new wrinkle of ignorance, declaring the Electoral College to be “a shadow of slavery’s power on America today that undermines our nation as a democratic republic.”

In fact, the Founders never intended the US to be a democracy.  The Electoral system was primarily created to prevent corruption by insuring that well-informed people not connected to the Congress picked the top leaders and to prevent factionalism and what James Madison called rule by “an overbearing majority,” using superior population numbers in one state to trample the interests of citizens in less populated states.  To balance that, we have a mixed form of government: proportional representation in the House and equal representation of states in the Senate.

In the case of Hillary vs. Trump, here’s a map showing the county-by-county breakdown.

You can imagine how much civil unrest there would be if all the people in those vast swaths of red were told that the dense populations of the liberal coastal cities were going to pick their leaders, who would likely never even bother to visit there and learn about their concerns (Example: Hillary ignoring the Rust Belt.)  That’s why we have the Electoral College, which worked exactly as it was meant to in 2016.  It’s not unfair if every candidate knows in advance that that’s how the race is run, and whining about it afterwards is just childish.

Incidentally, Glenn Reynolds of Instapundit had a great response to NBC “reporter” Ken Dilanian tweeting after the Kavanaugh confirmation that the idea of North Dakota and New York having the same number of Senators “has to change.”  Reynold pointed out that liberals never mention how unfair it is that Rhode Island and Texas have the same number of Senators.

Madison, Wisconsin leaders vote to desecrate grave

I have way too many occasions these days to quote the famous McCarthy-era line, “At long last, have you no decency?”  A lot of people on the left have been competing recently to see who can display the least amount of decency, but the leaders of Madison, Wisconsin, might have set a new low bar be demonstrating a vacuum of human decency.  As Rod Dreher notes at the link, it is one thing to call for taking down monuments to Confederate generals.  But Madison’s politicians voted overwhelmingly to remove a tombstone that did nothing but list the names of Confederate soldiers who died there in a prisoner-of-war camp. Do they really believe that they are signaling their virtue to the world by desecrating the mass grave of long-dead POWs?  Pathetic.

Compare that to the story Dreher relates of how both sides stopped fighting and showed respect for the dead when a Union naval commander committed suicide during an attack on the South.  The current leftist leaders of Madison have actually found a way to express less basic human decency than earlier Americans displayed in the middle of a Civil War.

Huck's Hero salute

A Huck’s Hero salute to Patrick Shields of Jackson, Tennessee.  Friday night, he was cleaning up after a tailgate party for his son’s high school football game when a teenage shooter began firing a pistol.  While everyone else was running away, Shields sprang into action.  He rushed the shooter from behind, grabbed him by the pistol arm, threw him against a fence and held him on the ground until police arrived.  Two young men were struck with bullets, but they were treated and will recover.

Police praised Shields for saving many lives. But considering he’s a 22-year Army veteran who served three deployments and currently serves in the National Guard, his heroic actions and courage under fire weren’t surprising.  And you could safely say that he’s probably already saved many lives even before this.

 Taylor Swift speaks up

When pop star Taylor Swift finally let herself be badgered into abandoning her wise apolitical stance and endorsed the Democratic Senate candidate in Tennessee (conveniently just hours after performing the final date of her US stadium tour in Texas), her endorsement came with some nasty accusations about Republican Rep. Marsha Blackburn.  There was also some boilerplate about LGBTQWXYZ rights that caused some commentators to note that it sounded nothing like anything Taylor ever wrote before, but like the usual identity politics agitprop straight from the DNC talking points factory.

For anyone who takes the political pronouncements of pop singers seriously, here is an article by Tyler O’Neil of PJ Media, detailing the “three horrific lies” Taylor (or whoever actually wrote her statement) told about Rep. Blackburn.  It’s a must-read for anyone voting in Tennessee, or who cares about how the left routinely slanders Republicans, and even more of a must-read for Taylor Swift, who needs to learn that if you wade into politics, you’d better do your own research.

Taylor, you “Should’ve Said No” and kept your “Eyes Open” to people trying to exploit your popularity for cheap political purposes. If only you’d said, “I Knew You Were Trouble," and when the leftists criticize you, just "Shake It Off."  But now, you’ll be crying, “Look What You Made Me Do.”  Thanks to knuckling under to the leftist pressure, there’s “Bad Blood” between you and your many Republican fans, “Everything Has Changed,” and they just might tell you that “We Are Never, Ever Getting Back Together.”

(Note: to all my readers over 30, those are Taylor Swift song titles.  Don’t feel too old and unhip.  I had to consult Wikipedia, too.)

how can anyone take AOC and her out of touch stupidity seriously. Every time she opens her mouth it spews out ignorance of basic politics/economics and the rest. If the people in her district have ANY measure of sense, they will vote her down and make her go back to school and learn something. Like Civics, US History, Economics 101. Maybe some basic arithmetic? Where did she go to school? Moscow U in the 1950s? Time for all communists to be treated like communists and NOT democrats. They for all practical purposes don't exist anymore.

Speaking of civility, when was the last time the dems were civil? Before 1930? 1944 the socialist party candidate for prez said "The democrats are adopting my platform I don't have to run, they are doing it for me". It's on FB out in the open. We only have one party. The rest has only one objective: to destroy america and kill the opposition. It's time we faced that.

The AHC channel has a good history lesson on how Germany was taken into socialism prior to WW II. The depression affected all countries, but some more than others, and the German populace had an animosity towards the victors of WWI, which the Nazi party fed into and used. It was a slow and deliberate process, but eventually they got the good government officials to grant them what they wanted and that is when the beast really grew. A lot of things the Democrat (not democratic) party is doing that is similar. Those who do not know their history will repeat it. WAKE UP AMERICA AND PAY ATTENTION !!!

I enjoy reading your commentaries everyday.
I believe our country is in a bad place and Hillarious Clinton has the nerve to defend Christine Ford when she did her best to destroy Bill's many women and she still defends him. And talk about civility!!!!!!!! We were very civil before she lost to Trump. Very sick woman!
I hate to hear that you are in the path of this dangerous hurricane. I will be praying for you. Be safe:)

What a sad commentary on the democrats. Just imagine if Republicans sank to the level of the democrats and invented stories of assault by democrats running for reelection. We could be sure that many of the democrats from age 4 and up had to have some bad behaviors. Surely we could find other young children now adults to support such stories. But no. While the democrats might sink to such dastardly levels, and did so against Brett Kavanaugh, The Republicans need to take the high road and shine the bright light of truth on their lies. And then, The American people must vote them out of office.

is it true Maxine Waters is being investigated AGAIN for violating election rules? Is it true she paid her daughter over $650,000.00 to print those illegal flyers; and that Bloomberge paid a $1Million $ to her when he should only paid $2,750.00 like any other citizen, And another 3 rd party paid the bill for another candidate on her flyer? No wonder she is yelling at Trump so loud to take the "interest" off her "inciting riots and illegal election violations?" Her protesters even burn the USA flag!!!

    Dear Governor,
Why in the world is she on paid leave? If they have proof that she said it, they should terminate her employment post haste, and she should lose any pension she has, and if there is any legal action that can be taken, it should be taken. It needs to be extensively publicized as a lesson to everyone. The brazenness that is demonstrated by the left on a daily basis in their tweets, postings and comments on late night “entertainment “ shows, asking for violence against those they disagree with politically, needs to be countered with swift legal action, that is, again publicized widely. This is madness. The mob is gaining power and it needs to be countered.

So sad to read of Nicki Haley's departure at the end of the year. There was at least one headline that said it is a "sudden, abrupt" departure, one day after some investigation was announced. Didn't sound too "sudden" to me, and "abrupt" would leave one to think--she walked out immediately. I didn't bother to see what that was about, figured I'd wait and see what coverage Gov. Mike Huckabee gives!

Now that the painful process of Judge Kavanaugh's confirmation to our nation's highest court is over and the ramped-up emotions are dying down a bit, I have two comments. One, who of all Judge Kavanaugh's opponents could go through such a rigorous examination of their past beginning in their teenage years and there be found no moral, ethical or legal violation that could be used against them to disqualify them from public service? Two, even if a public servant has some stupid decision in their distant past, is it not more important to know whether or not they learned from their mistake and developed good character that they have now consistently practiced for many years as mature adult citizens? Last time I checked there are no perfect people this side of heaven.

I trust the plan. I voted for Trump. I remain a Patriot and I pray for all Americans, those awake and asleep, to prosper and for this country to shine like a beacon in the dark, while all those that would destroy America keep trying. I also pray for the veterans, that continue to get a raw deal. Homeless, ignored, discarded, all over this country. I know, because I am one. I know there are many worse off than me, and I pray every night and day that they get the help they need. And most of all, I pray for my President and all those who believe in him and stand with him. God Bless America.

I am now ashamed I cast my first Presidential vote for JFK. The present leadership and participants of the Left should hang their heads in shame instead of letting the media carry water for ideas that will be their own downfall. We need to bring back the Insane Asylums for the mentally deranged. I try to ever be the optimist, but if only 50% of the nation bothers to vote I wonder who they are? Are they just inured to what America has become?
Taylor Swift gained her fame at my expense because my Grandchildren were captivated by her, She was NOT another Mylie Cyrus. But when you can be so easily misled I have no problem understanding why she cannot FIND a Real Man.

    Dr. Mr. Huckabee
Thank you very much for your truthful reporting of the facts. The great need for America is for God's people to diligently pray for our country, our leadership, and for the upcoming mid-term elections. " . . . the effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much" (James 5:16). God is a prayer answering God. God is also sovereign over the affairs of man. ". . . the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever He will" (Daniel 4:17) Donald Trump is president of the U.S. because God put him there. Bret Kavanaugh is on the Supreme Court because God put him there. May God bless you and may America bless God.

We talk about the swamp in DC. We have as big or bigger problem with the swamp that our educational system has become. We are paying a heavy price as these indoctrinated people hold more and more positions of authority. They run our media, educational institutions, many govt. agencies, tech companies, et. al. This follows the blueprint set forth in Alinsky's "Rules for radicals". Someone better initiate a housecleaning or we will lose the young minds that are essential to the future of this country.
