Senate Republicans are on a roll

October 13, 2018

I don’t know what they’ve put in the DC water supply – or maybe it’s the result of having a leader like President Trump who shrugs off the 24/7 media pummeling and punches back twice as hard (you know, like Obama suggested people do, but liberals hate it when it's done to them) – but Senate Republicans seem to have remembered that they are Republicans and that liberals are going to call them names no matter what they do, so they might as well do what their voters sent them there to do and to heck with the cable news nattering nabobs and Internet keyboard “warriors.”

Latest case in point: Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, who has been surprising longtime critics on the right with his strong, unwavering leadership, just cut a deal to approve another 15 Trump judicial appointees to federal courts before the election.  Knowing how desperate some Democrats are to get home and campaign (odd, I thought they were just going to surf to power on a “blue wave”?), he used that as a bargaining chip to stop their endless obstruction and stonewalling. McConnell used a similar tactic to get Trump judges approved in August.  This brings the total of non-activist, Constitution-protecting Trump judicial appointees to 84 in two years, including two Supreme Court Justices, which will have a positive effect on America for many years to come.

If there were no other reason to crawl over broken glass to vote to keep the Senate in GOP hands (and there are many), this is it.  As we saw with the all-out war on Brett Kavanaugh, the left has been unable to impose their unpopular, failed policies on the public by winning elections, so their last bastion of power is unelected activist judges misusing their gavels to dictate law from the bench (it’s amusing how they accuse Trump of being a wannabe dictator when their entire remaining power base rests on dictatorial judges.) The left’s current insane behavior might best be explained by the realization that they are seeing that last, illegitimate source of power slipping out of their clutches, and they will do anything to cling to it.

This deal also gives endangered Republicans a few more weeks to go home and campaign.  And one more plus: it’s making the media talking heads and Internet social justice warriors wet themselves in "OUTRAGE."  Which only goes to remind the public even more of why you do not want these people in any responsible position of power over you and your family, whether it’s in Congress, the White House or looking down on you from a judge’s perch.

Speaking of leftists who are incapacitated by anti-Trump “OUTRAGE,” here’s an article about that very thing from Politico.  The slant of the story is annoying, since it treats all that Trump Derangement Syndrome nonsense as a real and justifiable psychological condition (what is it about low unemployment, high economic growth, secure borders, deporting violent criminals and crushing ISIS that upsets them so?  Must be the tweets.)

But if you just read between the lines, you’ll either feel great sympathy or laugh yourself hoarse at the plight of these poor leftists who are so stricken with “Donald Trump Anxiety Disorder” that they can’t even make love to their spouses.  So more good news: liberals have finally found a way to reduce their own population without resorting to abortion.

You best described what I have been thinking is the reason for the Democrats' hysterical rage... "The left’s current insane behavior might best be explained by the realization that they are seeing that last, illegitimate source of power slipping out of their clutches, and they will do anything to cling to it."

I agree 100% with Donald Trump: "Giving power to a democrat MOB is like giving matches to an arsonist."

I love you Mike Huckabee. You made my day and everything was presented so aptly. Reducing the liberal population! I love it. But we do need to get those liberals out of the higher courts where so many decisions are made. And it is just so evident when a liberal judge makes a decision that it is based on politics rather than merit. May God bless.

Love watching your show and will watch it tonight in our area in Vermont on TBN! Could you call the American people to start reading Psalm 91 for America everyday from now to the election? This will bring us in unity with the President, Vice-President and Christians all over America.

I am surprised with McConnell. He never liked Trump but is finally taking the reigns and doing what is right.
The other thing I have not heard much of is the praise our lord Jesus should be getting for the president he gave us. I believe this man was hand picked by God and I will praise his holy name out load.
I pray everyday that president Trump will follow and listen to Jesus how ever Jesus speaks to him. I think that is why the conservatives are finally feeling free and unafraid.

Great article - your words are spot-on without using nasty vitriol. And so glad to see more judges approved to help preserve our constitution and democratic process. Always praying for our country and its leaders.

Hello Mike, Our freedom is at stake. You're right. The Democratic Party, as is, should not have any control. They have become obstructionist's for any kind of improvement to our country. Not saying there are not alot of good people that are still being deceived by the parties leadership, because I'm not. Many are seeing the light and I'm sure before election day many more will still see the light about the truth of the Democratic parties deception. As to the last comment you made in your piece I read. Abortion is one of the greatest destroyers of woman and children. It is also proof positive that men, father's have lost control of a very basic right long ago. That is the right to let our babies, children live. Why are we disallowed to have a say in whether our babies are allowed to be born. We are told by the current law that we are to just accept it when a Mother's choice is to murder our children before they can take their first breath. And we should also examine the post traumatic damage it causes to both father's and mother's when this is done. They don't talk about the long term damage that's caused by the guilt. The question that will never be answered. What if I chose to let my baby live. The great places they could have taken us as a society. And the statement that may always haunt a mother, "I killed my baby!" Think about discoveries we have lost and the voices we have silenced because of this great Injustice. We need to realize that men and women of all races matter equally. Let's start by giving Father's a chance to decide whether our babies live or die. And we should all remember to look within ourselves and be the best version of ourselves that we can be. Let's be true to God, ourselves, and each other. We were created because of God's love for all of his creation, which includes us. God loves all of us. Let's all be more like the nature of God. Thank you Mike, for letting your voice and the voices of your friends be heard.

I have been saying that President Trump showed the Senate Republicans how to regrow their spines, and once it was in place taught them again how to use it like it is supposed to be used. I am very glad to see this behavior from the Republicans and pray that it continues because it is GOOD for the country!

I think that in the case of Mitch McConnell and likely some other, the reason they have become so fired up is that they are afraid that they are going to lose their seats. Otherwise, that sit on their hands while the Democrats run roughshod over them. I get email constantly from the NSRC wanting donations, either to try to supposedly stop Democrats agenda, which I don't understand why they need donations to vote against liberal policies which is why Conservatives voted for them in the first place, and as of late because they are worried about losing their majority due to Democrats raising more money than them. I have been tempted to contact them and say "look, if you lose your majority it will not because of lack of funding but, because you sat on your hands and let Democrats have their way too often".

I agree with donating to Samaritan’s Purse, they are always on the scene first.
I DISAGREE with any donations to the Red Cross.
They ride in on their “white horses”, but really accomplish very little, while using the media in anyway they can, to their advantage. There are many reports of people who have lost everything, being handed a mop and bucket and cleaning supplies and they have no home to go back to and clean.
I could go on and site reports like this and how they stay in the finest hotels, while first responders are sleeping on the ground, but, all I really want to ask is that you carefully research this, and quietly let the endorsement die. Instead, I recommend we support the Salvation Army’s efforts, to include helping people find shelter and food and, if they have lost personal possessions, the Salvation Army allows them to go to their stores with a free pass to get anything they need.

"....liberals have finally found a way to reduce their own population without resorting to abortion." Long been hoping someone would discover a way to make the whacky left infertile, without them knowing it! In the wild, the weak are castrated to prevent the degradation of the blood line, to prevent the species becoming extinct! America, the benevolent society, would never consider such; however, anyone having witnessed the past fifty-odd years has to know how degraded and declining our society is! If true that "liberals have found a way to reduce their own population," DON'T inform them that it is happening....

    Lance,

"I don’t know what they’ve put in the DC water supply – or maybe it’s the result of having a leader like President Trump who shrugs off the 24/7 media pummeling and punches back twice as hard"

It seems that both the DEMs and the GOP have realized that THIS IS NOT BUSINESS AS USUAL. Trump is determined to “upset” the status quo. He is campaigning HARD and it is paying off.

It looks to me that the GOP will maintain power, and possibly add a few seats. And that is to Trump's credit.

The DEMs are putting their cross hairs on 2020. They may not want to admit it BUT they are dancing to Trumps fiddle.

    Mr. H,

It is so refreshing to read the truth deliciously sprinkled with humor. Your final paragraph of yesterday's Newsletter's first article (Dems unable to 'perform' thus lessening their numbers) was a jewel, a Hope Diamond, laugh out loud funny! You give us the sword then temper its edge without its losing its value. Thank you for sharing your talent.

Forever a fan of Mike Huckabee and his priceless insight and gift of turning the ludicrous behavior of the left into something and laugh about and know that my mind, heart, soul and strength are in the right place.

Thank you, Sir, for the few moments I talked with you in Cooper Landing, Alaska, back in summer of 2001 and the positive influence you put on my politically (and spiritually) lost self at the time. God bless and keep up the great work!
