The wave of newfound outrage continues to roil among liberal celebrities, politicians and news media figures over the policy of separating children from their parents who try to cross the border illegally and putting the kids into detention centers.  I’m still waiting to hear a solution that recognizes the parents’ own responsibility for putting their children in that situation.  The current options are to send the entire family back where they came from together, which both the parents and their defenders oppose; or putting them all into detention together, where the children would be exposed to adult criminals; or letting them all go free in America, which makes a mockery of the very concept of national borders and immigration law.  We know Trump's critics are outraged by the law as it is – and has been for years – but what is their solution?  Anyone? Anyone?  Bueller?...

In the meantime, they’ve latched onto an op-ed by former First Lady Laura Bush, whose heart was naturally touched by the sad plight of the children.  She compared the detention centers to the detention camps where Japanese-Americans were interred during World War II.  Of course, this excited liberals who’ve been claiming ever since Trump announced his candidacy that he wanted to put immigrants into concentration camps.  Apparently, they are willing to overlook their years of vicious attacks on Mrs. Bush’s husband if they can use her kind heart to advance their political agenda.

At the link is a very informative article written by someone whose grandparents were both interred in Japanese-American detention camps, explaining in detail why that was nothing like the current situation at the border, neither in terms of physical accommodations nor the reasons why people were placed in them.  Anyone who wants to argue this issue on the basis of facts should read it carefully.

I’ll just add something that I’ve said before and will no doubt have occasion to say again: To this date, the only US President ever to put innocent Americans/legal immigrants into detention camps purely because of their race was Democratic icon Franklin Roosevelt.

Thank you Gov. Huckabee for staying on top of things and keeping your readers informed. Pres. Trump is the hardest working President this country has had in office in my lifetime (74 yrs). I pray for him everyday. Why won't the "never Trumper Republicans" shut up and help him? Our country is doomed if he doesn't win. Thanks again!!

I loved George Bush but he never did 1/10 of what Trump is accomplished and stayed true to his word. I was really looking for Bush to do something at the border and he did basically nothing.

I am appalled at Mrs Bush’s remarks! Her husband has shown his disdain for President Trump in many ways! Not becoming of an ex-President! Instead of supporting him or reaching out to him he takes the side of a Muslim traitor to this country! Obama was the one that put children into cages built for them! Of course the media wouldn’t tell the truth as they are as corrupt & evil as the devil! We suffered for eight years with this pompous a$$ telling Americans that this is a nation of Muslims! Stopping National Prayer Day is one of many examples of his distain for Christianity! He tells Americans the most beautiful sounds he’s ever heard is the call to prayer for the Muslims! He went around the world apologizing & bowing to other nations! No American President has ever bowed to anyone! The only reason he was elected is because he was black! No other reason! Both he & he wife hate America with all that is in their hearts! I could go on but I than would have to write a book & I'm not quite that talented to do so! I’ve said my piece with one caveat his obvious hatred for the Jewish people & Israel is beyond evil!

    Please read 28th amendment

Please Read, and forward. This will only take 1 minute to read!
28th Amendment, 35 States and Counting.

It will take you less than a minute to read this. If you agree, please pass it on. It's an idea whose time has come to deal with this self-serving situation:

Children of Congress members do not have to pay back their college student loans.

Staffers of Congress family members are also exempt from having to pay back student loans.

Members of Congress can retire at full pay after only one term.

Members of Congress have exempted themselves from many of the laws they have passed, under which ordinary citizens must live.
For example, they are exempt from any fear of prosecution for sexual harassment.

And as the latest example, they have exempted themselves from Healthcare Reform, in all of its aspects.

We must not tolerate an elite class of such people, elected as public servants and then putting themselves above the law.

I truly don't care if they are Democrat, Republican, Independent, or whatever. The self-serving must stop.

Governors of 35 states have filed suit against the Federal Government for imposing unlawful burdens upon their states. It only takes 38 (of the 50) States to convene a Constitutional Convention.

Each person that receives this will forward it on to 20 people, in three days most people in The United States of America will have the message.

Proposed 28th Amendment to the United States Constitution:

"Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to the Senators and/or Representatives; and, Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators and/or Representatives that does not apply equally to the Citizens of the United States ..."

You are one of my 20.
    6:26 PM
President Trump is asking everyone to forward this email to a minimum of 20 people, and to ask each of those to do likewise.
In three days, most people in the United States will have the message. This is an idea that should be passed around, regardless of political party.

The TRUMP Rules: Congressional Reform Act of 2017

    1. No Tenure / No Pension. A Congressman/woman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they're out of office. And, no more perks go with them.

    2. Congress (past, present, & future) participates in Social Security. All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system, and Congress participates with the American people. It may not be used for any other purpose.

    3. Congress must purchase their own retirement plan, just as ALL Americans do.

    4. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%.

    5. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people.

    6. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people (i.e. NO MORE INSIDER TRADING!!!).

    7. All contracts with past and present Congressmen/women are void. The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen/women. Congress made all these contracts by and for themselves.

Serving in Congress is an honor and privledge NOT a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators should serve their term(s), then go home and go back to work … not get all kinds of freebies.

With all due respect to former first lady Laura Bush. Once again people are very narrow minded. These things were happening while her husband was president and Barack Obama introduced the so called cages to house immigrations. There is nothing New under the sun. Illegal immigration has been a problem for decades. Prior administrations have taken the casual approach to it while it festered to the monstrosity that it is today. The controlling word here is "ILLEGAL " President Donald Trump has been the only president that has faced the problem most wholeheartedly, of with blatant disdainfulness. Facing a corrupt deranged congress who is hellbent on fighting him on every issue. God has called this man for such a time as this. Inspite of his frailties and shortcomings which we all have he has stood up against barbarism in it's highest form. May our great God continue to bless this man, family and cabinet with super human strength for surely we shall overcome. Thank you brother Huckabee for your continued leading and guiding us with the truth. God bless you. Roscoe

DNA checks should be done at the border to make sure that the children belong to the people that say they are the parents of those children. Too many children are stolen in other nations and trafficked across our border. How many of these people live in the shadows and are constantly victimized by others cannot get legal help out of fear of deportation. I applaud Trump ‘s administration for addressing these issues as I heard his daughter Ivanka has been working on an anti- trafficking initiative. Children should be separated from their traffickers and released back into the care of their parents in other nations. Obama was the president with the highest deportation to Latin American countries which are usually Catholic and the highest importing of Muslims from Muslim nations when we should have been helping the Christians from Muslim nations since they face persecution .

I cannot even express how disappointed I am in Bush family. I was such a supporter and believer in them. I thought it was admirable for W and family to stay silent during Obama’s reign even though I thought it was probably difficult for them. I’m just horrified to see them not doing the same for our current President. I always thought they were Christian conservatives but even Laura Bush has come out in support of so much the Bible clearly teaches is wrong! They just went off the deep end when Trump criticized Jeb - and all that cozying up to the Clintons??!!! It’s just so unbelievable. It’s very sad and disappointing to so many of us who thought they were just above all of that. The liberals who hated everything the Bushes said and did are now using their statements to attack our President and they are gladly letting it happen. Its true that some people hate Trump more than they love our country. Hang in there Christians - we know how this story ends.

It absolutely astonishes me what the Bush 43 family has become!!! They sure blatantly lied to us abt their faith & being Christians. You CAN NOT be a true hearted, walking w/Jesus Christian & hang out w/the Clintons, say & do the stupid arrogant things the Bush's have, including their daughters, & call Obama & Clinton brothers from another mother the way they have & walk w/God. The Obama's continually blamed Bush 43 & cut his administration down. You can plainly see hoe they have become so very lost & caught up with/in the elitist world of "I'm better than you & can tell you how to live because I'm mega rich & have gotten it all by purposely fooling Americans, pulling the wool over their eyes & gaining huge amounts of wealth while doing it."

I had no idea Laura Bush was so ignorant and stupid, not to read her history, and know the difference between the horribly cruel barbaric treatment the Japanese inflicted on our people and how America treats ILLEGALS. Very disappointing, and to think U voted twice for that her fool of a husband!

I am so disappointed with all of the Bushes! I supported them during their presidential terms, but they lost their minds when Trump ran for president. I always thought Laura was a nice and classy lady, but she’s proved her class level is down there with Hillary and Michelle! AND THATS NOT A COMPLEMENT!!

I think Sarah and family escaped a bullet by learning they were unwelcome and leaving before being served. We all know the horror stories of what has gone on with food prep in restaurant kitchens where someone has a gripe. The Red Hen's proprietors seem to be radicalized; I think everyone should be wary of eating there lest they start to be paranoid and more unbalanced as well.

ON THE TOPIC OF ILLEGAL MIGRATION: Why should Americans be an accessory in aiding these people in breaking the law by coming over the border illegally? That's so wrong on so many levels. It's no wonder the liberals are all for these illegals. The liberals are lawless too!

Mike Huckabee, I must tell you. Your daughter is a lot like you. She's always taking care of matters elegantly, morally, and with class. Something the Liberals need to learn. I just love her and you. You should be very proud of Sarah. I know I am.

As much as I loved the Bushes in the beginning, I eventually felt George W. Bush betrayed my votes for him. By the way, I also voted for him for Texas Governor. In the end, the Bushes, sadly, showed themselves to be globalists, like all the rest.

There's not an honest politician alive. Thank God for President Donald Trump.

While I agree that we cannot have our borders open to all, I cannot condone the treatment of the immigrants and their children in detention centers. It is deplorable, immoral, and cruel to separate them from their kids. Law and policy do not supersede humane treatment of the less fortunate. While many at the White House quote from the Bible, you should keep in mind that what you do to the least of humanity, you are in effect ,doing to Christ. This administration is cruel, makes fun of disabled children and adults, calls immigrants animals, speaks of infestation by immigrants. How do you, as a Christian, support this kind of treatment of the youngest, most vulnerable children that have undergone unimaginable hardships and danger only to have more trauma inflicted by removing them from their parents. Many will never be reunited with their families and the Republican Party is complicit in this action. I don't know how you can sleep at night if you approve of this. You should be part of a move by so many churches and religious leaders to reunite these families as soon as possible.Moving these kids all over the USA will make that virtually impossible. The GOP members should pray for God's forgiveness for this abhorrent action taken against these people.I can't imagine that come November, voters will be as forgiving knowing that many of these kids will never see their families again.
