August 20, 2020

By Mike Huckabee

"’There's no use trying,’ she said: ‘one can't believe impossible things.’ ‘I daresay you haven't had much practice,’ said the Queen. ‘When I was your age, I always did it for half-an-hour a day. Why sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast.’” – Through The Looking Glass by Lewis Carroll

As I watch the nightly news from urban liberal warzones like Portland or force my eyeballs to stay open through the Democrats’ virtual convention, I keep thinking, “We’re through the looking glass, people!” And that’s not just an expression. I mean that, like Carroll's mad Red Queen, in order to be a Democrat in 2020, you are required to believe an unlimited number of impossible things. The Party’s embrace of "Alice In Wonderland" level madness inspired me to start making a list of these impossible things. To be a Democrat today, you have to believe…

1. That a pre-born human baby is not a human being deserving of protection from killing, and neither is a baby that was born 10 minutes ago if the mother decides she doesn’t want to keep it.

2. That capitalism, which has lifted hundreds of millions of people out of poverty and despair worldwide, is evil; but socialism, which has caused the oppression, impoverishment, starvation, and death of hundreds of millions of people over the past century, is the only hope of the future.

3. That the best solution for rioting, looting, arson, and violence in the streets is to defund the police.

4. That all the gains in the economy under Trump were really caused by Obama, but the worldwide economic crash following China’s unleashing of a pandemic was caused by Trump.

5. That Trump has a plan to rig the next election that involves making the Obama Administration remove thousands of mailboxes several years ago. Also, that the Post Office is removing little-used mailboxes in Oregon because the key to Trump’s reelection is for him to win Oregon.

6. And on that subject, that nobody ever complained about the US Post Office being slow, inefficient, and unreliable until Trump was elected.

7. That America is an oppressive, racist, white supremacist nation that’s the root of all evil in the world and its culture is inferior to that of other nations, including the many nations where people are willing to risk their lives just for the chance to come to America.

8. That Trump built “cages for children” on the border during the Obama Administration.

9. That viruses spread like wildfire at church services, but not at crowded protest rallies for leftwing causes. Also, viruses spread at bars that serve chips, but not at bars that serve sandwiches. Because “science!”

10. That people with male genitals are women just because they say they are, but people who say that actually having female genitals makes them women are intolerant, transphobic bigots.

11. Also, hospitals must be forced to give gynecological exams to “women” with male genitals, and taxpayers forced to pay for abortions for them.

12. Again on that subject, that someone born male who developed a muscular masculine physique before deciding he was a girl has no unfair physical advantage in sports over the much smaller teenage girl whose face (s)he is crushing into the wrestling mat.

13. That Trump botched the response to COVID-19 by xenophobically shutting down travel from China and crashing the economy with a shutdown, but Democrats would have prevented both the pandemic and the crash by not stopping travel from China and shutting down the economy sooner, harder and longer. Also, it’s absolutely impossible for Trump to keep people from crossing our border, but he could have kept a virus from crossing our border.

14. That an acceptable way to express how much you care about black lives is to burn black neighborhoods, loot black-owned businesses, and tear down statues of abolitionist leaders. Also, that all black lives matter except those of black cops, black Republicans, and black pre-born babies.

15. That free healthcare is a right, free college is a right, free food is a right, a guaranteed paycheck is a right, and citizenship for illegal immigrants is a right, but free speech and freedom of religion are not rights.

16. That the people who presided over the rise of ISIS, the Iraq and Afghan wars, a nuclear Iran and North Korea, and even Iran falling to the Mullahs in the first place, are trusted diplomatic professionals, while the man who crushed ISIS, dealt with Iran and North Korea, and crafted a historic Middle East peace agreement is a dangerous amateur who’s destroying our foreign policy.

17. That disproven rumors are evidence that Trump colluded with Russia to undermine a presidential election, but Democrats paying Russians for disproven rumors and using them as “evidence” to launch a Deep State coup is NOT collusion with Russia to undermine a presidential election.

18. That 2 + 2 only equals 4 because of white supremacy.

19. That there are 57 genders but only one acceptable political viewpoint.

20. That burning a flag is protected free speech, but objecting to someone burning a flag is not.

Okay, this could go on forever, so I’m going to stop at 20 and let you add to the list in the comments. Have fun, if that's not impossible these days...

“But, the Narrative!...” The more Americans of all colors see the “peaceful protesters” burning, looting, rioting and assaulting, the more they’re supporting the police. A new survey by Heritage Action For America found that opposition to defunding the police has risen to 79 percent, with only 16 percent supporting it.

Even when presented with the soft-soap version of the issue that the Democrats are pushing (Do you agree that we need the police to enforce the rule of law or that we need to rethink policing and spend more of that money on social services, welfare programs and schools instead?), the pro-law-and-order side still came out ahead by 62-29%. And despite all the talk of early, overwhelming support for Black Lives Matter, the latest survey found that by 49-42%, Americans believe that the protests “have stopped being about racial injustice and have become violent riots by people who hate America and want to tear down our government and radically change American culture.”

Proving once again, as a great Republican President once observed, that you can’t fool all of the people all of the time.

In New York City, crime is out of control and garbage is piling up in the streets after Mayor Bill DeBlasio slashed $1 billion from the police budget and cut other public services. Another 22,000 city workers could lose their jobs because of the effects of COVID-19 on the budget.

Meanwhile, DeBlasio’s wife has her own taxpayer-paid, 14-member staff, including a $150,000-a-year senior adviser and a $70,000-a-year videographer who filmed her baking cookies for social media.

“Socialism: It’s for the little people!”

In Case You Missed It: While the Democrats are using their Zoom convention to blame the COVID-19 (Chinese) coronavirus economic crash on Trump's incompetence, on Tuesday, the S&P 500 closed at 3,389.78, a new record that erases all the losses since the virus first hit.

I think it’s perfect timing that this Democratic Convention arrived simultaneously with the official return of a bull market.

“Peaceful Protesters” Update: You might have heard about the white man in Portland who was pulled out of his car and viciously beaten by a mob of BLM and Antifa rioters. You probably didn’t hear that moments before that, he was trying to help protect a trans woman who was being threatened and robbed by the mob. Sara Carter has more on the story, as well as a social media profile of one of the alleged attackers that should win some sort of award for sick irony.

    ‘’To be a democratic’’ article
Mike your political cometary are one of the few things in our current political climate that can put a smile on my face. This article should/could be a speech for Trump. It sums up the craziness of the left so perfectly. Please send it to him.

Thanks for the smiles and sometimes even giggles of truth everyday.

Do you think the liberal press realizes if the so called democratic socialists gain power in this country that their freedom of the press is in imminent danger? And I wish if AOC had a message she would put it in plain language. Her 60 minutes, other than seconding the nomination of Sanders was incomprehensible.

I love that "To be Democrat..." list. That was very telling and very accurate. I can't wait to see more of those.

I do also find it interesting that Trump's approval rating on the Rasmussen surveys has gone up. On the first day of the convention his approval rating went up from 47% to 51%. Isn't that telling? I can't wait to see if went up even higher today and tomorrow. And if it does, that would be very, very telling and very bad news for Joe Biden especially when candidates normally get a bounce from their conventions.

How can any sane person witness what is happening in the Democrat portions of our country and in good conscience step out their door and vote for one of them. Or even less believably, have faith that they can trust our most valuable constitutional right, the right to vote, to a system, which no one in their right mind would trust to convey more than $10.00 and not lose it, misplace it....

To be a Democrat one has to be able NOT to fix problems that hurt american citizens. Democrats brought us the wonderful organization of the KKK and continues to use their principals today, the Dems brought us the beautification of Detroit and its excellent water in Flint Mich. The Dems didn't forget their magical touch of beautifying Baltimore and East St. Louis and are working at doing some finishing touches in SF LA NYC Minneapolis Portland Seattle South Chicago one should visit these cities although you may want to see if you can rent some of the Military vehicles the police use to protect themselves the Fords they drive start on fire and have their windows broken with bats bricks by mystical people just ask the democratic judicial leader about the Myth, like leprechauns if you believe that you are a Demorat. Real people have watched Obama Clinton Biden Harris Sanders make decency law and order with a magical wand (executive pen) disappear and Donald J Trump got a new box of wands and will Make decency law and order appear again however we the Real people have to make it happen and that is no myth MAGA

Love you daily emails & have just started watching you on TV.
    I have two concerns that I have not seen mentioned any where;
    1) The internet seems to be flooded with The Banks can steal you $$$ in accordance with laws Congress has slipped in --- what is the true story here???
    2) George Soros: I keep hearing he was a Nazi, if true why isn't he prosecuted at The Hague???

Dear Mike (I consider you my friend):
If I had any money I will be publishing a lot of my ideas, unfortunately I don't have it and need your help: Here is one: make a short video showing some of the starving children in Africa and some of the "houses" they live in without any services; then show a couple of fat black men dressed nicely driving a car and their big home as the background. Then a capture " do these lives matter too? " pointing to the starving children.
Black people should be thankful that their ancestors were brought here to enjoy the American dream instead of complaining and realize that they did nothing to pick their own skin color.
They need to realize that achievements and success are based on skills, experience, knowledge, talent, personality, honesty, loyalty, etc and not on the color. Stop the BLM!.
Hope you can read this, thanks and God bless you.

This was a great list and should be shared over and over. Thank you for taking the time to put it together. I will add that
I wonder how democratic presidential hopeful Kamala Harris can negativity blast, then opponent Joe, but now sings a different tune of praise. Was she fibbing then, now or always? To be a democrat I guess you gotta know how to lie, cover your lie and lie to get out of a lie.

Wow Mike. What a load of misdirection, 1/2 truths, and partisan political spin on your part here. Really- you say that to be a Democrat you have to believe all 20 of these these things? I say hogwash. You can be a Democrat and disagree with some of these very things, regardless of if the “official” party platform may or may not even eventually adopt any or all of them. The same holds true for being a Republican. You can be a Republican and disagree with some of their adopted party platform positions as well. As a life-long Republican myself, I don’t agree with all the positions the current Republican Party is professing. Life is not as black and white as you would like it to be. You are free to hold your own beliefs and fully have the right to do so. But you are not free to brand anyone (or more often everyone in many of your articles) with any description of who they are, and/or who they cannot possible be, just because they hold differing opinions from yours. That is simply just disingenuous on your part, not to mention judgmental. You are essentially doing the exact thing you charge the “other side” with doing by your own statements. That could easily and justifiably be called hypocritical, now couldn’t it? Things that make someone go Hmmm...

How about a book titled "50 Shades of Brown"?
Ken Ham of Answers in Genesis pointed out that there is only ONE human skin color, brown. It varies in shade from very light to very dark and includes many shades in between. The only truly white persons are albinos, and they tend to be pink.

    21. That teachers unions have the best interests of children at heart and will agree to pay more for their union negotiated medical coverage in order to funnel more money directly to the classroom. Also they’ll see the ridiculousness of tenure and stop the practice thereby getting rid of incompetents and wiping out “rubber” rms.

This was a great post! Send your list to be used at the Republican Convention!! Hopefully there will be some sheep Democrats that will change their mind and vote Trump! Another Bidenism- Trump is doing away with Social Security! You reported that he was cutting taxes that are used to fund Social Security!! What is Trump's plan to fund Social Security?? I hate that commercial that Biden is showing! He knows that will hit hard on a lot of senior voters!! Really using the sympathy vote!!
