The “whistleblower” story, assumed to implicate Trump in an attempt to induce the new Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky to investigate Joe Biden and his son’s business dealings in that country, has taken on a life of its own, and the hysteria will continue to grow and morph unabated, at least until Thursday, when acting Director of National Intelligence Joseph Maguire testifies before the House Intelligence Committee. At this point, we don’t know the specifics of the phone call at issue or the identity of the whistleblower (and I use that term loosely because it typically refers to “blowing the whistle” on an internal matter; a more accurate word here would be “leaker”). That hasn’t stopped the likes of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and many in the media from saying Trump should be impeached over it. In fact, with no evidence, they have already decided that President Trump used foreign officials to go after his political opponent.
(Hey, we KNOW Hillary Clinton who did that, in 2016, by way of Fusion GPS and Christopher Steele, among others.)
Warren's snake oil
With Sen. Elizabeth Warren inexplicably rising in Democratic Presidential polls, it might be time to take a closer look at some of the poisonous snake oil she’s peddling. Here is an analysis of her scheme for imposing what she calls “Accountable Capitalism” on all corporations. This means forcing companies to prioritize a long list of ‘social justice” goals instead of that icky goal of making a profit.
How will that negatively affect you, aside from destroying the free marketplace and possibly costing you your job? Well, as noted here, Germany tried something similar and it resulted in slower growth and lower stock prices. By one estimate, it could lower US stock prices by up to 25%. Since as much as 50% of US stocks are held in retirement accounts such as 401K’s, it would mean a huge reduction in income for senior citizens. So...why does Elizabeth Warren hate seniors?
This is one more lesson in the dangers not only of electing leftists to run anything, but of electing leftist academics and politicians who have never actually run anything but think they know how to run everything.
Feel Good Story of the Day
By Mike Huckabee
When James South was a young man, he went away for four years to fight in World War II. His faithful girlfriend wrote to him every single day, which gave him a love for cards and letters. When he returned, they were married, raised a family and were together for 55 years. After losing her, James lived on his own until he was 98, then moved to a retirement home.
Remembering how much all those cards and letters had meant to him in World War II, James is hoping to receive 100 cards for his 100th birthday on October 7th. To help get out the word, staffers put the picture at this link on social media, along with the mailing address: James South, 5800 North Park Drive, Watauga, TX 76148.
I’ll bet he gets more than 100 cards, don’t you? By the way, why are you still sitting there? Don’t you have a birthday card to mail?

Still wondering how so many kids were able to skip school Friday to demand “climate justice” and parrot far-left talking points about the environment? Many school districts excused them in advance from attending class (funny, if saving the world is that important to them, you’d think they could give up their Saturday.)
It seems the New York School Board, for instance (which is obviously doing a bang-up job of educating kids), just had to let 1.1 million students skip a day so that world leaders at the UN would notice them (as Fox News’ Jesse Watters pointed out, "So they think that President Xi of China really cares what a bunch of high school freshmen from the Lower East Side think about anything? He doesn't even listen to his own citizens in his own country.") Some parents complained about their kids who might not have wanted to join this protest not being schooled on that day, or being exploited to promote someone else’s political agenda.
And who is behind the campaign to terrify our kids in class with stories of environmental apocalypse and gun violence and them having no future, then turning them out into the streets to demand socialist environmental programs and draconian gun control laws? At the link, teacher and teachers’ union buster Rebecca Friedrichs shares some information on what and who are really manipulating our children.
If you’d like to hear more from her, she was my guest last week on “Huckabee.” You can watch that interview here:
##Appellation##, I wanted to make sure you also read these comments:
Here’s something to help cure your Monday blues. Not since that house fell on the Wicked Witch has there been so much laughter and rejoicing over a death notice than over the New York Post’s front-page, tongue-in-cheek obituary for Mayor Bill Blasio’s late, unlamented presidential campaign.
Since it’s the weekend and I’m sure you’d love a little entertainment with your politics to help you decompress, watch this Congressional hearing video of black conservative Candace Owens utterly dismantling an alleged university “expert” on white supremacy (who is herself white) who tried to imply that Owens somehow inspires white supremacist violence and laughs at its victims. Pop some popcorn before watching this.

Our Daily Verse (KJV)
"Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord,
and whose hope the Lord is.
For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters,
and that spreadeth out her roots by the river,
and shall not see when heat cometh,
but her leaf shall be green;
and shall not be careful in the year of drought,
neither shall cease from yielding fruit."
- Jeremiah 17:7-8
