Once Donna Brazile decided to reveal the inner machinations of the DNC as they related to Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign, she had to know the organization would return fire with every bit of ammo it had. Historically, the phrase “Don’t cross the Clintons” has meant pretty much the same thing as the Ghostbusters warning, “Don’t cross the streams!” But Brazile did it –- she crossed the streams. And the memo went out to Democratic spokespeople to trash her credibility.
They knew just what they could bring up: the question she supplied to Hillary in advance of a CNN debate. Yes, that was dishonest. Yes, Brazile acknowledges that she did the wrong thing. And, yes, the DNC is sooooo very sorry –- sorry it was discovered. No one can convince me that, if the DNC knew they’d never be found out, there’s nothing they wouldn’t have done to put her in the Oval Office.
But now, her mistake is useful to them, so they use it against her. (Not that they ever treated her well, according to Brazile herself.) And in case you weren’t aware that CNN reporters are also Democratic spokespeople (they are), Tucker Carlson of FOX News has reported that their “very highly placed” source says that CNN upper management directed its reporters to similarly undermine her credibility. And they have done so…
But here’s a nice palate-refresher: Some in the Democratic Party are fed up with Clinton corruption and want to shine a light on the roaches to make them run. Pollster Doug Schoen, a former adviser to Bill Clinton, has also dared to cross the streams, saying he finds the dishonesty of the 2016 campaign indefensible. He calls the nomination flat-out “stolen,” saying “...I said there would be a constitutional crisis if she was elected. We have one now, and she wasn’t elected. It stinks. It’s rotten. And it’s more than rigged.”
Ah, a Democrat who wants to drain the swamp. In this time when people can’t seem to agree on anything, perhaps we’ve hit upon the one issue that might bring us together.
