Not that any level of sanctimonious hypocrisy from this man would surprise me, but James Comey somehow just managed to reach a new low on Twitter. He tweeted:
“We have long had ugly margins in this country, but we are a fundamentally decent people, with shared values. We treasure our identity as a nation of immigrants. With our voices and our 2020 votes, we must send Donald Trump and his mob back to their dark corner.”
So Comey, who helped corrupt the FBI into a political hit squad, has the temerity to describe Trump supporters as a “mob.” (I assume he’s referring not just to his Administration, since most of this media firestorm has been aimed at Trump rally attendees). Sixty-three million American voters is an awfully large “mob.” It's also very telling that he can speak of "American values," and in the next breath, suggest banishing people he disagrees with to a dark corner where they can no longer have a voice in politics. What "American value" does that kind of tyranny represent?
Funny, when I think of ugly, intolerant mobs who lurk in the shadows and attack those they disagree with, I think of masked Antifa thugs, setting fires and punching faces and swinging bike chains at people who dare to wear MAGA caps or use their First Amendment rights to express an opinion in public that our moral superiors on the left disagree with. I also think of a certain “mob” inside the FBI and DOJ who decided that the American people didn’t have the right to choose their own President if the mob didn’t approve of their choice.
Let us hope and pray that voters do see through the smears and insults, the angry eliminationist rhetoric and smug intolerance. And that they do show up at the polls in 2020 to insure that the investigation of what the FBI did under this known liar, leaker and abuser of government power is not derailed and buried, that the whole truth is at last uncovered and aired, and that it results in these mobsters sitting in dark corners of some federal facilities for a long time.
