Brilliant idea
By Mike Huckabee
Brilliant Idea! Sen. Ted Cruz is urging President Trump to submit Obama’s Iran nuclear deal and the Paris Climate Accords, which Trump rescinded, to the Senate as treaties, which is how they should have been dealt with in the first place under the Constitution. Then if Biden takes office, he couldn’t keep his vow to reinstate them without getting a two-thirds vote of approval from the Senate, which, no matter what happens in Georgia, ain’t gonna happen.
Read Cruz’s full letter to Trump here.
He also reminds us that the Obama Administration admitted that they structured the agreements in such a way that they could publicly deny that they were legally-binding treaties because treaties require two-thirds’ consent of the Senate, and they knew they would never get that. Yet both contain legally-binding obligations on the US and are clearly treaties.
Obama attempted an end-run around the Constitution, and Trump blocked it. If he takes Cruz’s advice, he can block Biden from picking up the ball and trying it again.
Joe Biden update
By Mike Huckabee
Behold the man whom William Barr thinks can be trusted to conduct a fair and thorough investigation of allegations of financial impropriety against his son Hunter by all those "Russian disinformation" outlets and “one horse ponies” in the media.
I don’t know what’s most disturbing about this: that he’s still insisting it’s all “Russian disinformation” when there's been formal FBI investigation for months, or that he can’t answer a simple question without lapsing into word salad (I think “one horse pony” is a brain jumble of “one trick pony” and “one horse town”), or that he simply turns around and wanders off stage every time he’s asked any question harder than “What’s your favorite ice cream flavor?” This is the man 80 million Americans want to be President? Really?
I suspect that if he ever had to face the kind of verbal assault that Trump deals with from reporters on a daily basis, he’d crumble to dust and blow away like the people in that “Avengers” movie.
Irony Corner
By Mike Huckabee
Georgia election official Gabriel Sterling, who has spent weeks bashing President Trump for suggesting there was voter fraud in his state, filed a complaint that a woman who sold him his house and moved to Maryland cast fraudulent votes in Georgia in 2018 and 2020 by falsely using his home address as her own.
Presidential pardons
By Mike Huckabee
Tuesday, President Trump issued full pardons to 15 people and commuted the sentences of five others. Here’s a full list.
The pardons range from an 89-year-old man who pleaded guilty to helping illegally distill moonshine in 1952 to former GOP Congress members Duncan Hunter and Chris Collins to former Trump campaign aide George Papadapoulous.
I’m sure liberals in the media will howl, as they did with Mike Flynn, that Papadapoulous pleaded guilty to lying to Mueller investigators (of course, they were fine with Obama and Clinton pardoning terrorists and fugitive Democrat donors.) But as we all know by now, the Mueller investigators were a cabal of liars, perjurers and evidence fabricators who used unconscionable hardball tactics to force guilty pleas out of people who did nothing wrong. I attach no more credence to a guilty plea to a process crime in that “investigation” than I do to someone pleading guilty to being a witch after being tortured by the Spanish Inquisition.
Here's more background on Papadapoulous, if you haven’t been with us long (we've already covered this story in all its sordid details.)
