When Attorney General William Barr begins his examination of how the FBI “Trump/Russia” probe got started --- he said on Tuesday in testimony before Congress that he’ll be looking into that --- he’ll have a great jump-start: a deluge of information from others who have been doing groundwork for close to three years.

One of the newest sources is a bit more obscure than the ones we’re already familiar with, as it’s just now coming to light. This arises from yet another FOIA case, this one involving numerous previously-unknown James Comey memos. It seems that, in an apparent attempt to cover his behind, Comey documented virtually everything the FBI was doing to investigate Donald Trump --- the meetings, the events, the conversations and much more.

If I understand correctly, we can thank DC Circuit Judge James E. Boasberg --- who is, interestingly, also a FISA judge and an Obama appointee --- for asking the FBI to file an opinion about releasing the Comey memos to the public. He was asking not just whether the memos could be released, but also whether the prior sealed FBI arguments in favor of withholding them could be released.

Netanyahu on his way to win

By Mike Huckabee

Stop me if this sounds familiar, but the media’s “exit polls” in Israel made it seem as if Benjamin Netanyahu was in serious danger of being replaced by a more liberal (and softer on Israeli defense and sovereignty) Prime Minister.  But when the actual votes were counted, it turned out his conservative coalition had won a decisive victory and he’s on his way to a historic fifth term.

http://news.trust.org/item/20190410080103-h7ruo

Oh, and stop me if you’ve heard this one: MSNBC’s Chris Matthews slammed President Trump, this time for allegedly helping Netanyahu get reelected.  He fumed that Trump broke precedent with previous US Presidents, ignoring his global role of peacemaker or honest broker to get involved in Israel’s elections.

https://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/msnbcs-chris-matthews-slams-trump-for-aiding-israeli-pm-netanyahus-reelection

I guess Chris either forgot about Obama in 2015, or he thinks it wasn't “breaking precedent” with being an uninvolved non-partisan observer when a President he loved tried to prevent Netanyahu from getting reelected.

Omar and 9/11

By Mike Huckabee

Wonder why weekly news magazines are dying? The Internet is not solely to blame.  There’s also the blindly partisan, leftist elite bubble in which their editors reside.  Last week, Time’s cover story was a glamor photo of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez gushingly captioned, “The Phenom.”  And now, Newsweek one-ups them with this cover story on Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar, which they touted with the line, “How (she) is changing the conversation about Israel…”

https://twitter.com/DLoesch/status/1115695665139658753

You can see the cover at that link.  I chose Dana Loesch’s tweet about it because she offered an excellent reply listing the ways Omar is “changing the conversation about Israel.”

Rep. Dan Crenshaw also had some choice words about Omar’s latest offensive jaw-dropper, in which she tried to change the conversation about the 9/11 attacks (when a group of Islamic radicals murdered 3,000 innocent people at once) into a claim that Americans started persecuting Muslims just because “some people did something.”

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/ilhan-omar-under-fire-after-describing-9-11-terror-attacks-as-some-people-did-something

I sincerely hope her comments are changing the conversation among her constituents into questioning why they did something so regrettable as electing her to Congress.  Unlike 9/11, that’s “something” that can be rectified.  As for Newsweek, their editors seem determined to prove that when the entire operation was sold for one dollar back in 2010, the buyer was overcharged.

Internal Google Doc is revealing

By Mike Huckabee

Say, you know how every time a conservative commentator or news site (or anti-abortion movie) gets blocked from social media or search results, it’s always the fault of some totally nonpartisan “algorithm”?  You don’t think that biased people inside those organizations are manually manipulating the results to silence the free speech of people they disagree with, do you?  Even after the big tech billionaires swore under oath to Congress that that simply doesn’t happen.  Perish the thought!

Well, the Daily Caller obtained an internal Google policy document that makes it clear there is a “manual component” to their process for “blacklisting” (their term) news sites that violate their (prepare to guffaw) “good neighbor policy.”  Google is still denying that any of that means they blacklist conservative news sites, even though they blacklisted the Western Journal, which has tried in vain for months to get Google to tell them what they’ve done that violates any Google policy.

In a related story, the DuckDuckGo search engine is skyrocketing in popularity because it protects your privacy by not tracking you or keeping records of sites you visited to sell to advertisers. A spokesman explained, "Put simply, people have had enough, and are now doing something about it." It’s available as an option in the search bar of several browsers, now including even the Chrome browser by Google.  And if you can’t think of any other reason to try it (see above), then here are some more:

I’d say the photo of the “welcome mat” at the company’s headquarters would be reason enough for most of my readers to try it.

Judge them by their priorities

By Mike Huckabee

After Congressional Democrats repeatedly blocked passage of the Born Alive Act to affirm that babies born alive during abortions be given the same life-saving emergency medical care that every American has a basic right to, four Democratic Senators have introduced the “KITTEN Act of 2019,” to protect baby cats from animal testing.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t want to see kittens harmed, either.  But as one Republican aide noted, it’s insane to argue that ending “taxpayer-funded kitten slaughter” is just common sense, but wanting to end funding for America’s biggest abortion chain or to provide medical care to babies who have already been born is an “extremist agenda.”

I’d like to ask the constituents of these politicians to ponder the famous question posed by Phoebe from “Friends” in her song, “Smelly Cat”:  “What are they feeding you?!”

HOLDING THEM ACCOUNTABLE: Devin Nunes ready with 8 criminal referrals

By Mike Huckabee

Remember the old TV game show PASSWORD? It probably wouldn’t be much of a hit today because it was a quiet game that required some element of literacy and wit, but in its heyday it was a staple of daytime TV. Alan Ludden (the late husband of Betty White, for trivia fans) was the host, but each round began with an announcer saying in a low voice, “The password is…….”

So, here’s an idea: let’s play “PASSWORD 2019”! Of course, since it’s 2019, it has to be about politics, because in 2019, everything is about politics. I’ll be the announcer and say (ahem), “The password is...ACCOUNTABILITY”

More documents show why Hillary deserves indictment

By Mike Huckabee

If anyone knows firsthand that persistence pays, it’s Tom Fitton of Judicial Watch, after working literally for years to get information from the FBI about its “investigation” into Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server for official State Department business.

On July 7, 2016 (two days after then-FBI Director James Comey’s announcement that he would not recommend indictment for Hillary), Judicial Watch filed a FOIA request seeking all the “302s” (interview notes) having to do with the investigation into Hillary’s use of a private email server during her time at the State Department. It also sought all relevant communications involving the FBI, DOJ, President Obama, the DNC, and Hillary 2016 campaign officials, plus all communications relating to the tarmac meeting between Bill Clinton and then-Attorney General Loretta Lynch on June 27, 2016.

Cool your jets Democrats

By Mike Huckabee

I almost feel sorry for the top Democrats in politics and media. After having built their lives and belief systems around the Russian collusion delusion for two years, now that it’s collapsed in public, they seem to be lost and scrambling around for anything to cling to.

Some simply refuse to abandon their faith in a false narrative. They think that the Mueller report must contain something that Attorney General Barr deliberately covered up because he figured it was worth throwing away a sterling reputation built over a lifetime in order to protect Trump for a couple of weeks until the report was released publicly. Those diehards are the ones now demanding that the Mueller report be released immediately, even though Barr already told them it has to undergo standard redactions and will be released in mid-April. He’s going to get even more of that hysteria today.
