The impeachment talk in DC dominates the news so much that liberal ice cream makers Ben and Jerry’s are launching a new flavor called “Impeaches and Cream,” and a famous classic rock band is renaming themselves the “Impeach Boys.” Okay, maybe not, but as Nancy Pelosi said this week, “You gotta strike while the iron is hot.” What exactly does THAT mean? Actually, it’s very revealing. If the people who voted for Donald Trump 3 years ago are to have their votes nullified out by partisan politicians in Washington and if the news media is truly going to go along with the overturning of the election results, then shouldn’t their reasons for that be so compelling that the facts will stand the test of time? What iron is so hot that Pelosi and the House Democrats are willing to ignore an election over? And why would that iron get cold and why? If this whole thing is genuinely based on evidence and facts, the case won’t get cold. But I think we all know this isn’t about evidence or facts. This is the rawest and most savage form of politics, but this time there are real dangers should it succeed. If this becomes the new norm following a Presidential election so that the losing side refuses to accept the results and attempts to use any and every tactic possible to void the voters choice and replace it with the choice of bureaucrats and a hand-full from the losing side, then we will have destroyed fair and free elections which are the bedrock of our system of government.

Arrested for leaking

By Mike Huckabee

Henry Kyle Frese, a counter-terrorism analyst who held a top-secret clearance at the Defense Intelligence Agency, has been arrested for allegedly leaking classified defense information to two journalists, one of whom he was romantically involved with.  The leaks reportedly included secret data about a foreign nation’s weapons system and information that "could reasonably be expected to cause serious harm to the national security of the United States."

https://www.foxnews.com/us/defense-employee-arrested-leaking-classified-information-reporters

Assistant Attorney General for National Security John Demers said Frese “was caught red-handed disclosing sensitive national security information for personal gain. Frese betrayed the trust placed in him by the American people—a betrayal that risked harming the national security of this country.”

Authorities denied that they were sending a message to journalists and said they’re focused on the leaker, stressing that “if you leak info, you will be prosecuted.”

Well, unless you get into bed with the media and leak info that might undermine the Trump Administration, and then you’ll be protected and celebrated.  But then, Trump deserves it because he said some journalists are the enemies of the American people.  We all know that journalists aren’t America’s enemies.  America’s enemies are people like unscrupulous spies who sleep with corrupt officials so they can steal our top secret defense information and…well, okay, maybe Trump had a point.

The good news is that somebody in Washington has finally been charged for exposing top secret government information.  I was beginning to think that must not be a crime anymore.  Say, in totally unrelated news, I hear it's rumored Hillary Clinton is thinking of running for President again.

"Huckabee" Preview

By Mike Huckabee

Join me tomorrow for a very special, politically-oriented “Huckabee,” when I will sit down for a newsmaking visit with Vice President Mike Pence.  Rep. Mark Green will also drop by to talk about his fight to protect national security and secure the best medical care for veterans.  And Jordan Sekulow will tell us about his new book on the rise of the far left in America and how conservatives can win over it and start a new "red wave." But of course, it’s not all politics: I’ll also have some hilariously unusual news “In Case You Missed It,” and to cap off this important show, one of the greatest country music groups of all time: Larry, Steve and Rudy, the Gatlin Brothers!

You’ll want to be in front of your TVs and set your DVRs for this one! It’s tonight at 8 and 11 EST, 7 and 10 CST, and the same times on Sunday, on TBN. To find where you can watch TBN, from local cable and broadcast channels to streaming, visit https://www.tbn.org/huckabee and click on the “WATCH” menu at the top. You can also stream previous episodes, highlights and Internet-only “Digital Exclusives,” like extended interviews and extra performances by our musical and comedy guests.  It’s all at https://www.tbn.org/huckabee

Bernie "Feelin' the Burn"

By Mike Huckabee

Now that Bernie Sanders is on the mend, political analysts are starting to talk about the delicate subject of whether his heart attack during a campaign event was fatal to his presidential bid. His argument for electing a man who would start his first term at age 80 was that his age was irrelevant because he’s so vigorous.  But that’s a tougher sell when you’re not only 78, but you’ve already had a very public heart attack and your campaign appearances have to be suspended.

Bernie must be “feelin’ the burn” of skepticism about his health because in his first post-heart attack interview, he walked back his previous statement that he felt “fatigued,” claiming he “misspoke,” and “I must confess, I was dumb...I just was more fatigued than I usually have been. And I should have listened to those symptoms.”  But now that he has two stents to improve blood flow, he plans to get back out there and run a “very vigorous campaign.”

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7556633/In-interview-heart-attack-Sanders-says-misspoke-plans-campaign-vigorously.html

Bernie, granted I’m not a supporter of your socialist politics, but let me say this in all sincerity, with genuine concern from one human being to another: you’re 78 and you just had a heart attack.  You don’t have to apologize for saying you feel fatigued.  And you really don’t have to prove you don’t feel fatigued by running for anything, and certainly not "vigorously."  At this point, you shouldn’t even be running for the senior bus vigorously.  You should instead be taking it easy, recuperating, and thanking God you had the American health care system instead of the Cuban health care system you love so much, or it might’ve been 2020 before you even got your stents, if ever.

I wanted to make sure you also read this comment:

Earlier this week, I linked to a number of commentaries on President Trump’s decision to withdraw our troops from Syria, and the criticism he received about abandoning our allies the Kurds to Turkish aggression and other issues.  I linked to further reading because this is a very complicated issue with a number of facets to consider.  Today, a few updates:

Turkey is claiming that its military assault in Syria has already killed at least 100 Kurdish fighters.

https://www.foxnews.com/world/turkey-military-assault-in-syria

David Harsanyi at the Federalist outlines some more of the conflicting issues with staying or leaving, such as that some of the Kurds we’d be risking American lives to help aren’t freedom fighters but Maoists with terrorist ties. Also, Congress is complaining about Trump making the unilateral decision after they willingly abdicated their own war powers (and ensuing responsibilities) to previous Presidents, particularly Obama, whose military decisions routinely circumvented Congress.

https://thefederalist.com/2019/10/08/hey-congress-take-back-your-war-powers-or-shut-up-about-syria/

Speaking of Obama, here’s a piece about how his own mishandling of Syria in pursuit of his Iran nuclear deal set up the impossible situation that his former Administration officials are blasting Trump over.

https://nypost.com/2019/10/08/how-obamas-team-set-up-trumps-syrian-dilemma/

Finally, a great commentary piece by Kurt Schlichter, who is not only a lawyer, political analyst and hilarious wordsmith, he’s also a retired Army Infantry colonel with a masters in Strategic Studies from the United States Army War College.  In short, he knows a lot more about military deployments and strategy than many of the people who are accusing Trump of being ignorant and short-sighted.  He makes the case for withdrawing our troops from the standpoint of a self-described conservative “hawk” and combat veteran.  It’s the type of expert take (from a real expert, not an “expert”) that you aren’t likely to see in too many other places.

Most of you must recall the moment in the 2016 debates where Donald Trump (and NOT Hillary Clinton) was asked whether he would accept the results of the 2016 election? We've spent three years wondering when that question will be asked of those on the left, as it is clear they have not. The only thing worse than that is to find out that WAY too many people grousing about the results didn't even vote. ENOUGH ALREADY!
