Polls and surveys

August 3, 2019

Immediately after watching this week’s two Democratic debates, I wrote this:
“I don’t think the needles will move much after this debate…Biden probably won the night by default just by being better than in the first debate and having his chief poll rival Harris off her game.  Biden only brought his B-minus game, but B-minus is Joe’s A-game, so you could honestly say he was as good as anyone could reasonably expect.”
Well, the Morning Consult just published the results of the first post-debate polls, so let’s see how my predictions fared.
From one week before the debates to one day after, most of the lower tier candidates who register in the polls at all didn’t budge a silly millimeter.  Yang, O’Rourke, Booker and Buttigieg started the week at 2%, 3%, 3% and 6%, respectively, and they ended the week at 2%, 3%, 3% and 6%.  Bernie went into the debates at 18%, and he came out of the debates at 18% (so Alice Cooper is no longer the only famous septuagenarian who can go around yelling, “I’m Eighteen!”)
Elizabeth Warren rose from 13 to 15%, while Kamala Harris dropped from 13 to 10%.  The decline for Harris is interesting, in that most analysts expected her to capitalize on her first debate showing with a big rise (Tulsi Gabbard’s exposure of her California Attorney General record might have drawn blood.) But since both Warren’s uptick and Harris’ drop are within the poll’s margin of error, they’re even more meaningless than the usual poll taken 18 months before an election.
That brings us to Biden, who started the week as the frontrunner with 31% and gave a performance just impressive enough to leap to 32% (again, well within the margin of error.)  I’d say that’s about a B-minus result.
Need any more proof that you can safely ignore all the other political talking heads by just reading my newsletter?  Plus, it’s even funnier than watching MSNBC!  Well, most of the time.

The latest Market Force survey on fast food brands found that Chick-fil-A is now America’s favorite fast food chain with a 79% “loyalty rating” (you’re welcome, Chick-fil-A!) Coming in second with a 73% approval rating was In-N-Out Burger.

Interestingly, both chains were founded by Christian families who put their faith-based values into their business practices, as reflected by their exemplary treatment of both customers and employees, their quality food and their charitable donations. Both have been the targets of boycott attempts by the intolerant left, although even Democrats and liberal media outlets in California dismissed the boycott call for In-N-Out, realizing that politics be hanged, Californians couldn’t live without their Double-Doubles.

The assault on Chick-fil-A has gotten a lot more media traction because of the political clout of the LGBTQ lobby, which has spurred some politicians in liberal cities like San Antonio to enact unconstitutional blocks on Chick-fil-A’s right to open businesses (it also spurred Texas' GOP state government to pass a “Chick-fil-A Protection Law” to slap that down that kind of partisan abuse of power.) Nobody better try to take away Gov. Greg Abbott’s chicken sandwich!

Congratulations to both chains. I hope that other business owners will look at how popular and successful they are and how unaffected their sales are by boycott threats from leftist activists angry that everyone isn’t toeing their PC line (they’re mostly a handful of malcontents being amplified by Twitter accounts that nobody reads), and I hope that everyone will start running their businesses according to their consciences, not their groundless fears.

in a previous comment I made about the LGBTQ community not to get involved with my life style I want to ask that same community involved with Hollywood the actors a lot of them are said to be Gay I don't care however I would like to know how many movies they made in China. To have the same equal justice in China as you have here in Hollywood would you agree that the two are identical. Probably not that's why you actors behave against America because of the large amount of money China has invested in Hollywood you are doing the Anti America Propaganda for the Communist Republic of China. Please try and dispute that look at how much China has invested in Hollywood and and I have know for years your behavior is controlled by China. Good idea Hollywood try and take the LGBTQ community to China PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will be Waiting.............

Don't like to judge, but when I do; I use the book of Proverbs as a guide. What the candidate's say and do, very hard to consider voting for any of them. Thank you and your staff for the news letter.

Thank you, again Mr. H. for a wonderful platform for Christians and Conservatives to communicate on. I am hoping you, or our conservative nation, can consistently and completely keep this 2 most popular restaurants in America information in front of the American people, and in the faces of the Communist, Socialist (sub humans) that are either Evil or Ignorant, that we must defeat for all time, going forward. Thank you and Sarah again, for all you do and have done. Mike McGehee.

I agree with on the second debate. It was a bit more spirited, but no cigar for the front runners.

Chicfil-i was given grace by God in its fight to stay open.

Now, I simply do not see why Pres. Trump is not hammering the libs with Obamas open mike, foot in mouth comment by Obama saying "I can do more when the election is over". He does need to say this often plus Hilliarys sale of our uranium deal. He also needs to keep his doing things for the black and brown communities going strong.

Mike - I appreciate so much your consistent effort to keep America Great.
My comments on the so called candidates whose egos are so large that they believe they are qualified to be POTUS. Remarkable-I find it terrifiying to even imagine any one of them in that position -especially in these very challenging times. Just imagine what would happen to our great nation. We are far from perfect are so much better than any thing else that is anywhere else in this world. Donald Trump-,even though rough around the edges, is doing so much for almost all of us-just think what he could have accomplished with a little co-operation.

    Hi Mike...
Thank you for your honest fair opinions. We must not let the leftist clowns intimidate us who favor the Christian values that were incorporated in the founding of this country!

So, if robots make us react racially, why is Darth Vader black, but his Storm Troopers white? I won't hold my breath for an answer from CNN.

What does this LGBTQ think it is to tell me where to eat my chicken? What gives you the right to condemn people what they can and can't do my advice is keep your hateful talking points to your self. Don't push your unlawful agenda down any ones throat as you can see nobody cares about you live your life and stay away from mine a good product will only dismiss your petty and moronic views as you can see how successful they are. Spent your efforts to MAGA maybe some one will listen to ya.

You would have to be an idiot, as most Democrats are, to even think about any one of these people taking over a President after what our President Trump has accomplished. Come on,,,,No airplanes, no more using fuel for cars, etc,, no more beef (we cannot have those cows farting and disrupting the environment) Don't know many of our elite Dems that would forgo a steak, or not fly to save their precious time. I would say, horse and buggy, but horses Also Fart!!

I'm with you 100%. If you saw Jennifer Lawrence's video on, she stated that both parties pass approx 30% of legislation they consider, and this number never changes whether 80-90% of Americans support it, or are against it. How can we get the dead wood out of the GOP? Seems impossible...

The 2020 democratic presidential candidates are in this category:
Nazis were left-wing socialists. National Socialist Workers Party of Germany, otherwise known as the Nazi Party, was socialist and it had a lot in common with the modern left. Hitler preached class warfare, agitating the working class to resist “exploitation” by capitalists , particularly Jewish capitalists, of course. Their programs called for the nationalization of education, health care, transportation, and other major industries. They instituted and vigorously enforced a strict gun control regimen. They encouraged pornography, illegitimacy, and abortion, and they denounced Christians as right-wing fanatics.

It's a two way street. I see the Target parking lots full to the last spot despite their concessions to the lgbt. There is a long list of those who have done this and none of them have folded up as far as I have heard. Chick-fil-A and In-N-Out Burger have my support, though this list is pretty short. Is there a more complete list of establishments that are based on Christian values? We need to know who to support and who to boycott. Also, if I'm shopping and need a public rest room, I need to know where I'll be safe.
