Much of Monday’s news was dominated by the coverage of the fake news over the Catholic school boys and the Native American activist in Washington, the unconscionable hatred and violent rhetoric aimed at children over a story that wasn’t even true, and the furious backpedaling and Tweet-deleting by those who rushed to condemn without first making sure they had the facts (and who might be more fearful of lawsuits than conscience-stricken.)

But if there’s one thing you can always count on from the hard-core left, it’s the absolute refusal to admit they are wrong.  There are still some out there, bitterly clinging to the narrative that was shattered by the video and witness testimony; still trying to dig up anything to make the case that the boys are really racists or that they were the ones who initiated the confrontation (even though they were the ones who were accosted -- and in showing admirable restraint, they exhibited far more maturity than any of the so-called “adults” who rushed to attack them on scant and misleading evidence.)  Just as with the pro-abortion lobby that insists against all scientific evidence that a baby in the womb is just a clump of cells, they refuse to let facts influence their conclusions.

I wrote a book four years ago, pointing out the complete disconnect between our media elites and the people who cover them.  Rather than taking my advice to leave their bubbles, venture into “flyover country” and actually meet the people they report on, in the years since, they’ve entrenched themselves even deeper.  In talking about Trump supporters only to other anti-Trumpers who’ve never met any, they’ve managed to make the cardinal mistake of all fanatics: they’ve started to believe their own propaganda.

There were unable to accept that Americans voted for Trump because they were fed up with a government that seemed unresponsive to their needs, that called them “racist” if they complained about illegal immigration undercutting their wages and jobs (even though it harms black and Hispanic low skilled workers worst of all) and told them they were out of date and should get training to do something else as their jobs were sent overseas by the thousands.  They didn’t want to support a candidate who insulted them as “deplorables” to their faces and refused even to campaign in their states.  They liked the idea of “Making America Great Again.”  So they took a chance and voted for Trump.

And because the left never admits when it’s wrong, there was never any period of introspection or soul-searching about how their policies had failed the people, or how their arrogance had alienated voters.  Instead, it was much more comforting simply to assume that anyone who disagreed with them was either stupid or evil.

And thus we got the phony narrative that Trump supporters in MAGA caps are all just a bunch of violent, hateful, racist, white supremacists. It reduces their political opponents to a sub-human level, and makes it okay to hate them and even socially acceptable to endorse committing violence against them. This is calling “othering” when they accuse other people of doing it.  It's very useful for leftists who don't want to confront their own failings, but as the Rev. King warned us, hate destroys the hater as much as the hated.

And so now, we see them viciously attacking innocent young men.  And for some, even the emergence of evidence of their innocence is irrelevant.  Simply the fact that they wore MAGA caps or are white or Catholic is reason enough to want to commit violence against them, because they look like the image of people they think deserve it.

At the link, a writer for the disreputable website Buzzfeed explains that it’s understandable that “the sight of that face caused a visceral reaction.”  She’s referring to the face of a teenager, smiling uncomfortably because he’s being accosted and profanely taunted in public and doesn’t know how to react.  But he’s wearing a MAGA cap, so naturally, her visceral reaction is to assume he’s at fault and want to destroy him.  This is the result not only of giving in to hate, hubris and prejudice, but of believing your own bull, which might also be why Buzzfeed is so eager to run any piece of garbage as long as it attacks Trump.

Remember the saying from “Love Story,” that “Love means never having to say you’re sorry”? The 2019 version is, “Hate means never having to say you’re sorry.”

I’m sure you’ve heard this breaking news from Sarah.
President Trump is considering deporting Democrats to Mexico. They are responding by building a border wall!

I Love Our President...but I feel a need to hide myself, because of the hatred and racist, toxic attitude in my own country. I'm a good person, I'm not racist, and I want to believe that every American is protected and given all the rights equally...But sadly I feel left out...As our President is so disrespectful and hated...The climate is so upsetting and ALL FOR NO GOOD REASON ?? So wrong!! Why can't we all agree to disagree, and still respect each other?? It's hurtful and damages us all.

I am so upset at what people (and most of the press) are doing to those innocent boys. I thought the dems were going to bring Civilty back to the nation? This is just more proof of how stupid they really are. and one thing I don't understand- Nancy isn't interested in bringing security to our borders, but yet is worried that If Pres Trump goes ahead with his speech on Tues, there might be a problem with security? seems kinda ironic and the usual hypocritical

The teaching history and civics should be mandatory in our schools. I think adding 4 year mandatory military service to our country post high school will cure many of our out of touch Americans of the cost of the freedom and the sacrifice others have made for this country. It is not fair that the same families sacrifice multiple generations of their family to fight for our freedoms . I studied in Australia during college and I noticed that people had such a love and respect for each other as citizens and their country , but they also have a 4 year mandatory military service requirement post high school. Their college kids receive “free “ college tuition, after their 4 year military requirement ,so technically it would be the GI Bill. The military in this country also has not been meeting it’s recruitment goals most likely because our citizens are out of touch of the cost of their freedoms and are disrespectful to our country’s National symbols like the flag. We have too many people that enjoy the luxuries of freedom ( including Hollyweird) but are disconnected to the costs of it on military servicemen and women and their families . This way every family has skin in the game not just the 1 percent. This will also help weed out those who come to this country to try to subvert it . It would also prevent the flocks of fleeing able bodied males that refuse to stay and fight for their own countries if they would have to do military service as part of their path to citizenship .

    Governor;
Have you noticed that no one has commented on the young man who was confronted by that ancient activist? He stood there courageously and respectfully, obviously involved in a situation he neither understood nor deserved. He was patient, unflinching, even attentive. He turned the other cheek. In watching that video clip I thought what a fine young gentleman he is and how proud his parents must be. America should be proud of him as well. He is what young people used to be (at least the ones I knew, growing up in the 1950s). If I were raising boys today I would use that clip as an example of what a man really is.

I really admire you. I am 72 years old, and have never paid much attention to politics, a cousin of mine a few years back was constantly referring to you and Glenn Beck, some other conservatives, and I began to get interested, and follow along also. You are interesting, easy to listen too, and it happens I love your TV show and you even play a pretty good bass! I am horrified at what the Democrat party has become, my father was a lifelong Democrat, and I know he would have been horrified too. Do you think the animosity has gone to far to come back to any kind of understanding? A young man that I have known him and his family his whole life, and he recently said he could no longer be friends with anyone that was a Trump supporter. His actual words were' C'mon, you are better than that'? Why is there so much hate? I will be watching this weekend, if you would care to address that.

Today, as I waited for my car to be serviced at AAA, I was trapped in a waiting room and unwillingly mesmerized by CNN on the TV ... like watching a cobra waiting to spew its venom. I desperately sought a remote ... preferably a remote island away from CNN. I felt like I was emotionally raked over the coals of the LEFT by the time I left. I make it a practice never to watch CNN ... I get enough of a "taste" of how the biased liberal obstructionists on TV march in lock step regarding Trump hatred and twisted fake news when I watch courageous Hannity (and he shows his fans how the liberal media hosts literally recite or chant word for word the same toxic anti-Trump and anti-all- things-conservative-script.) Dirt-du-jour!! Thank you, Mike Huckabee ... you ARE such a soothing and healing antidote to the venom (as is your courageous daughter!) Keep up the GOD work ... keep fighting the GOD fight!

Thank you for keeping me informed. I watch the news morning, noon and night. I subscribe to 3 news outlets on Facebook. I certainly heard several accounts of how these innocent young men taunted and ridiculed the man in native costume. One where he was interviewed and seemed to support the disrespect happened. Then a report that the boys were being expelled due to their actions. I have yet to hear an update that it was Fake news. The disrespect does not come from President Trump supporters or mainstream people of faith. It comes from the rampant bias of media, entertainment industry, athletes and famous liberals who don't seem to understand the concept that you cannot have socialism and reside in your mansion, protected by high tech security and armed bodyguards enjoying the fruits of a free society based upon capitalism. The extremist liberals in the Democratic party supported by vengeful haters Schumer and Pelosi speak out of both sides of their mouth and willingly place our Country in peril by influencing social unrest. They claim those who do not agree with their agendas of the moment are racists and bigots who are not following PC and deserving of extinction, All the while these factions enjoy a life of privilege, insulated in their upper class homes with walls, bodyguards, free medical and secured pensions. What saddens me the most is the disintegration of family values. So many children grow up thinking they are entitled. They have no decent role models. They listen to their educated parents spout faulty rhetoric and receive praise and support from their peers and attend halls of higher learning that are recreating history. Or they listen to their parents beliefs that they are oppressed persons of color and deserve the same privileges of those who have diligently worked within the law to gain them. These young people believe they are above the law and will work towards the breakdown of a lawful society based on common decency and rights of a country to protect its borders. If I sound frightened or sad, I am not. The good Lord rules my life. I turned my fears over and I rest easy sustained by Him. Update, I just saw a news piece on our local station updating the original story. Unfortunately it stated that have closed the school due to security reasons.

Megan McCain apologized this morning on the view. I normally do not watch this show but I was stuck at the car dealer having my car worked on. She openly admitted to have tweeted out on these kids without knowing the whole story. I am so happy her Dad did Not become President after he supported Obamacare.

I tried to look carefully at the expression on the boy.s face when standing in front of the drummer. I could not see his expression as a smirk as described by some. I thought it was a, maybe if I smile at him it will be okay smile, or what do .i do now smile. I guess “pussy” hats, referring vulgarly to female anatomy, are okay but MAGA hats are not. Did anyone hear the boys shouting profanities? I guess it’s okay if you’re a woman. Did any hear them swearing with huge vulgarities or threatening to burn crosses on lawns? I guess say in you’re going to,burn something is okay if it’s the White House with POTUS and his family in it. The Catholic Church has a lot to answer for, indeed, but these boys are not representative of that aspect and are probably getting a much better education than the public school students. Did the boys want to stir things up a little, wearing those hats? Sure. Did they expect to get shouted at, Sure. Did they
expect to be vilified in the worst possible ways and have their lives threatened? I dooooon’ t thiiink so! These women’s march people are vile. Notice how many people stayed away. Leftists can’t stand it.

WSJ special section on global challenges 2019. Yes, well written from macro/micro economic viewpoint . Giant visual graphic depicting squeezed middle grounders with growing/bulging hard right and hard left . No mention of the everyday life of the American citizen valiantly protecting the "raping"of their children's minds with lgbtq, drag queens etc. in their schools and now the left attack a Christian school because students acted better than the adults.

I have commented on our nations education in the public school system that civics are not taught and History may not be at the top of the list and our society is the loser because of it. I hope people are seeing how the country is starting to like the idea of a socialist government most of us knows how that turns out. I have watched and listened to the boy and the Indian, my take on the Indian is social service should probably step in on his behalf and the other adults in the background howling like they have just come out of a den and been asleep for 40 years showed such a low IQ and a disgrace to Human Beings. My point is Private Schools look as the way to go to rid our society of this indecent behavior, I may not have to say where this is coming from look at what the left is throwing at us for a run to be President. Most of them run on the rule of Hate and Racism first then our bank accounts next working 80% of what used to be our money now will be going to the government in income tax. Can I ask who teaches that? 80% may be the long term If one of those nitwits should knock off President Trump in 2020 where is our best move? What country would decent people want to live in. I can not tolerate what the left wants in a society I do not tolerate our Media. All I can hope for are more Catholic, Lutheran, Christian schools that raises our country's IQ and morale compass what is being taught now is how to ruin a country for dummies. Good Public Schools stay good bad public schools close your doors your wasting our money and your product is ruing our country. I wished these comments did not have to be made The people on the left really gives nobody a choice.

I cannot believe what is going on in this country. I am 91, born in the USA and until the past couple of years, proud of it. What has caused the extreme division, hatred and insanity of the Democrats? They care nothing about the safety and welfare of the people they represent! I find it appalling! I am almost to the point of being ashamed of being an American. There is no respect for our President, which is beyond reprehensible! Please, give us the wall, stop lying and get some good old-fashioned common sense!

What ever happened to protecting underage children ! When underage kids commit a crime we never show their faces but since these boys were white and wearing Maga hats they never had chance no matter what they did. I don't think there is any adult out there who would have handled this situation any better than this young man! I hope he is never intimidated and always stands up for what he believes in .

I fully agree with Dave Huckabee's comments. I have had the same experience with my "elected losers". I have written to my Iowa senators and received no response from Sen Grassley and a totally non responsive reply from J Ernst's apparently incompetent staff. Form letters just don't do it for me. I realize every question cannot receive personal attention, but their staff should be able to deliver a coherent response. I thought that is why they exist. I'm fed up and have reached the conclusion that the grand experiment of representative govt. has failed. I am thoroughly disallusioned and harbor a sense of hopelessness that this country can survive this crap.

The Catholic boys need to filelibel suits against all of the media sites, celebrities, so-called “Black Israelites”, and the fool who did the original tweet that started it all. Each of the offenders needs to be hit with multi-million dollar suits. They have essentially ruined the boys lives, and need to made to pay dearly for it.

    Thank you Mr Huckabee,
I saw the clip on TV yesterday and having been out of touch traveling for a few days, did not understand why a young man wearing a MAGA cap would taunt a native American. I too, was appalled while viewing the small clip. Wow. I now know I was sucked into the brainless vacuum cleaner via the media that sucks out the truth. I am ashamed. How much more must I stop watching TV to protect myself? Thanks for setting it straight.

yep Mike, mental illness on display. But then we have to look at their role models. Pelosi, Schumer, Harris, Waters, Lee, Schiff, Swalwell, Luis Gutierrez, AOC. Are we noticing a pattern here? NY CA? One exception? Gutierrez is gone and that is IL so the entire delegation from CA, half from NY. Oh! who is fighting hard? Pete King, Devin Nunes, Jordan, Matt Gaetz Mostly people from other than NY,CA. Something is VERY wrong. Dan Issa and Devin Nunes stand alone in the CA insanity? Peter King stands alone in the NY insanity? apparently, maybe you can think of another conservative in NY? I can't. The disease of liberalism must have a symptom of not being able to admit you are wrong. H-m-m are they inherently sociopathic? Does this remind us of Hilary? perhaps we need to clone Joyce Brothers and Sigmund Freud? This is far too many patients for Dr. Phil.
