Today's Edition

The COVID-19 coronavirus has been shaping the news for weeks, but yesterday, it ramped up to a whole new level. First, the World Health Organization officially declared it a pandemic, meaning a new disease that’s spread worldwide. They say it’s not a term they use lightly because they don’t want to spark unnecessary panic. But COVID-19 now qualifies because as of Wednesday, over 124,000 people in 108 countries have been sickened by it. Of those, at least 4,575 have died, but most were in China, and concentrated among the elderly with other health problems and weakened immune systems.

With gratitude,

Mike Huckabee

Hidin' Biden, Part II: The role of coronavirus

By Mike Huckabee

There is no subject so serious that a limerick can’t be made about it:

There once was a fellow named Biden

Whose capacities seemed to be slidin’

His party said, “Wait!

Old Joe can’t debate!

So we’ll just have to keep him in hidin’!”

His confusion and poor comprehension

Have long been attracting attention

They've got a fresh face

To put in his place

If he just makes it to the convention

That’s not meant to ridicule Joe Biden himself --- far from it --- but rather the deceitful Democrat Party leaders who are using him, actually victimizing him. Who truly believes the party’s goal is to put former Vice President Biden, nearing 80 and appearing to struggle with cognitive challenges, in the Oval Office, for real? Early yesterday, I wrote about their need to keep Biden out of the public eye after his victories in Tuesday’s primary elections. I speculated there might not be any debate appearances in his future, even the one scheduled for this Sunday with the other Last Old White Man Standing, Bernie Sanders. Since then, there have been some new developments.

I wanted to make sure you also read these comments:

Time magazine seems to have accepted that it is irrelevant to the current and future media landscapes, so it’s started doing what liberals love to do best: rewriting history. To atone for not recognizing women enough over the past century, Time has retroactively named a “Woman of the Year” for every year since 1921. And if you thought it would be “fair and balanced,” you have lost track of Time over the past few decades.

While some of the choices are non-political, those that are political are almost uniformly to the left. Time’s 1925 “Woman of the Year” is Margaret Sanger, Planned Parenthood founder and noted eugenics fan. There are four Democratic First Ladies and zero Republican First Ladies. Anita Hill and communist revolutionary Angela Davis made the list, but not Condoleezza Rice, the first black female Secretary of State. Sinead O’Connor, a singer best remembered for ripping up a photo of the Pope on “Saturday Night Live,” was honored, but not Mother Teresa. While every liberal female from Jocelyn Edwards to Greta Thunberg made Time’s list, the only arguably conservative women in 100 years to be included were Margaret Thatcher and Justice Sandra Day O’Connor, who, as the linked article notes, “was consistently liberal on abortion.”

FYI: Time’s first issue appeared on March 3, 1923. The price was 15 cents. Despite nearly a century of inflation, after all these years, it’s only a two-bit liberal magazine.

Tweet of the Day! From PJ Media columnist Jim Treacher:

"I can't believe how incompetently the Trump administration is handling the coronavirus. This wouldn't be happening if the government ran healthcare!"

Hilarious because it’s true. It’s also fun to hear all the people who want the government to run our entire health care system screaming because the government can’t provide test kits fast enough so they have to be put on a waiting list. Welcome to the same VA-style government-run health care you want to stick all of us with.

The head of the Border Patrol reports that the new sections of border wall helped the service become 90% effective at stopping illegal crossings in those areas, up from 10% before they were built. He said there’s also a huge return on investment because not only has it greatly reduced illegal crossings, but we’re doing it with 150 fewer border agents, a savings of $28 million in salaries and benefits, and the improved roads mean government vehicles can last for 100,000 miles rather than 40,000-60,000 before being auctioned.

Of course, this shouldn’t be surprising. If security walls didn’t work, then all the liberals who claim they don’t work wouldn’t have them around their own houses and neighborhoods.

Must be nice to be a Democrat, so that instead of having the media pile onto you whenever a scandal hits, they give you free advice on how to get out of it.

Bible Verse of the Day (KJV)

"And ye shall serve the Lord your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee."

- Exodus 23:25

Hello Governor Huckabee I do think it's time for our best president to stop meeting in person with other foreign leaders. We love our president and are concerned for his well being. From what I'm gathering this virus is deadly to the older generation. Could you please put in a word to him and let him know his people are concerned and don't want anything to happen to him. There are other ways to communicate at this time At least until this virus has slowed. Thank you!

Good afternoon Governor Mike. I want to go on record as the first to suggest that the most deadly outbreak of coronavirus at the long-tern care facility in Washington State came from the brand new pair of Nikes the nurse wore to work that day. Too, the surgical masks that just arrived from China may have played a part in spreading the tiny bugs further. Until the investigators come up with answers better than mine, I'm sticking to them
