Evening Edition - March 2

March 2, 2020

Bernie Sanders has been rightly criticized for his rose-colored glasses views of communist dictators such as Fidel Castro, which has forced him to claim rather unconvincingly that just because he’s a socialist, that doesn’t mean he endorses authoritarianism (FYI: there has never been and could never be actual socialism without authoritarianism, which follows socialism as inevitably as dusk follows the dawn. Just ask a Venezuelan. Or read this article by a Cuban-American, about what Cuba was like before Castro seized power, and what it was like afterward.)

https://townhall.com/columnists/humbertofontova/2020/02/29/what-bernie-sandersand-his-fellow-and-abundant-castroloving-dupes-and-propagandistsomit-n2562179

If Bernie doesn’t want to impose authoritarianism, he has a pretty odd way of showing it. I’m not even talking about his campaign aides who’ve been caught on video chomping at the bit to build gulags to “reeducate” people who disagree with them. I mean all the revolutionary plans he has to remake America, some of which he plans to impose through executive orders. At a rally in California over the weekend, he came up with a new one: he’ll issue an executive order making marijuana legal in all 50 states and expunging the records of most people who have been arrested for it.

I notice in that pledge no concern at all for whether any particular state wants legalized marijuana or not, or for the fact that Congress makes laws, not the President. Some might call that “authoritarian.” But there’s no denying that making drugs legal nationwide would be good for Bernie, since I fervently believe you’d have to stoned out of your mind to vote for him.

Fake News Monday! There’s actually some good news on the fake news front today. A phony narrative pushed by the Democrats and the liberal media that President Trump called the coronavirus a “hoax” was so blatantly false, easily disprovable and reprehensibly misleading and dangerous to the public health that even Facebook has started flagging posts that repeat it. Imagine that: Facebook actually admitting that a fake story about Trump is fake!

https://pjmedia.com/trending/facebook-fact-checkers-admit-trump-never-said-coronavirus-was-a-hoax/

For the record, what Trump actually called a hoax was the Democrat/media attempt to politicize the disease by falsely claiming that his Administration hasn’t been acting to prevent a pandemic. The fake story was repeated by many major media outlets and even by Mike Bloomberg in a “60 Minutes” interview last night.

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/trump-bloomberg-coronavirus-60-minutes-hoax-claims

Bloomberg also purchased three minutes of prime TV time Sunday to talk about the coronavirus and Trump’s handling of it, which backfired when many commenters noted that he came across as a billionaire using his money to exploit a health crisis by undermining confidence in public health authorities at a time when Americans need to be listening to them to prevent the spread of a deadly disease.

https://www.westernjournal.com/bloomberg-purchases-3-minute-primetime-slot-coronavirus-ad/

This would be a good place to toss in that, no, there have been no budget cuts to the CDC. Also, even the New York Times and the World Health Organization now admit that Trump’s quick action in blocking travel from China helped prevent or at least delay a potential widespread outbreak here.

https://pjmedia.com/trending/trumps-decisive-actions-helped-save-lives-during-coronavirus-pandemic-experts-admit/

And while I’m at it, here’s a positive assessment of the Administration’s handling of the coronavirus written by a biochemist. He also offers some good advice on avoiding contracting both the coronavirus and the brain disease of Trump Derangement Syndrome that’s currently running through the media like the 1918 Spanish flu.

--------------------------

Adam Schiff is outraged that President Trump’s attorneys “convinced two judges” to rule in his favor over Schiff’s demand that his White House counsel testify. Silly me, I thought that since Schiff had a law degree, he’d know that attorneys convincing judges to side with their clients is how all non-jury cases are decided.

https://twitchy.com/jacobb-38/2020/03/01/uh-thats-their-job-adam-schiff-complains-that-trumps-lawyers-convinced-two-judges-to-rule-against-him/

This is Schiff’s entire tweet: “Trump’s lawyers convinced two judges of their unprecedented legal theory that courts CANNOT enforce congressional subpoenas. This was after they argued during the impeachment trial that the House was REQUIRED to enforce subpoenas in court. Such duplicity can't survive appeal.”

You tried to force Trump’s close staffers to testify without issuing subpoenas. Trump asserted his right as President to refuse, giving you the option of issuing subpoenas that would then go before a court to decide whether they were protected by executive privilege. You decided instead to impeach him for the made-up charge of “obstruction of Congress” because he invoked his long-established executive privilege rights. That was so ridiculous, even Mitt Romney wouldn’t buy it.

Such stupidity should not survive reelection.

“The Party of Diversity”: On Twitter, Karen Tumulty notes that the “most diverse Presidential field ever” has now been winnowed down to the top three contenders, all of them straight, white males between the ages of 77 and 78.

Many New Yorkers are quite angry upon discovering they can no longer have the things they buy in stores put into plastic bags, thanks to the new statewide ban on them. Might I remind them that their anger is aimed in the wrong direction. You’re the ones who voted for this. You can put it back in the garbage bag of history where it belongs.

Amazing Photos: Thanks to high winds and sub-freezing temperatures, some houses on the shore of Lake Erie in New York have been turned into incredible ice sculptures.

That’s a delightful YouTube channel, and a charming way to escape the irritating news of the day. Search through the archives and you’ll find all sorts of incredible how-to’s, including a recipe for ketchup cake to go with your mustard ice cream.

-----------------------------

“I’m Not A Doctor, But I Report Fake Medical News On TV” Dept: A couple of actual doctors are extremely put out with the media’s attempts to denigrate and second-guess the Trump Administration’s handling of the coronavirus outbreak. Dr. Drew Pinsky has some words for those attacking Mike Pence’s handling of disease outbreaks as Governor of Indiana, and two of those words are “fake news”:

https://www.theblaze.com/news/dr-drew-fake-news-that-vp-pence-improperly-responded-to-epidemics-as-governor

Also, the claim that President Trump had “muzzled” Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Anthony Fauci, was branded as “fake news” by…Dr. Anthony Fauci.

Dr. Fauci said, “I have never been muzzled ever and I’ve been doing this since the Administration of Ronald Reagan, I’m not being muzzled by this Administration...” He said he just put some TV interviews on hold while they reorganized the task force after Pence took over, but now, he’s reapplied for clearance to do them and been approved; “so I have not been muzzled at all, that was a real misrepresentation of what happened.”

https://legalinsurrection.com/2020/02/media-hoaxes-no-trump-did-not-call-coronavirus-a-hoax-and-no-fauci-was-not-muzzled/

My prayer for you all is that you never have a doctor who gets important things wrong as often as the Trump-hating news media do.

Humberto Fontova's it's a very accurate but, I would like to add that Cuba before Castro was a very prosperous country even at the height of the revolution in 1958 the Cuban peso was at par with the U.S. dollar.

Free?? Not! I think I am working hard as a single white female to support able bodied people that are to lazy, too entitled to work. All the giving with nothing in return has destroyed people's self esteem, independence, and values. They will never know the feeling of putting in a hard days work knowing you are taking care of your family. No pride! Last but far from least....there is no way a Christian can vote for any democrat and expect God to bless their decision!!!

On the subject of plastic bags for groceries. You say we voted for it. I'm not sure that's true. The day after the vote authorizing no more plastic bags except the ones you buy from the stores, all stores had a stock of plastic bags for sale with their names imprinted. Clairvoyant?

Mike, I truly appreciate your newsletter. I like knowing your viewpoint on various issues that are active in our country.

I have been a supporter of yours for many years. It started the first time you ran for President. I knew little about you. Then one day I was visiting the BassCat factory. I had the privilege to eat lunch that day with my BassCat dealer and Ron Pierce. The conversation over lunch turned to politics. Ron told me more about you and what a great individual you are. That did it for me.

So, in closing, I appreciate you and your view points. Keep up the great commentary.

    Sincerely,
    Bill Gard

A new all time low for Democrats, that they would wish people dead by the spread of this virus and also a new all time low for the Dems right hand, the "fake news" to try and start a panic all for the sake of Democratic power! How much more disgusting will it get than this?

Mike, We MUST push for a new method of electing Presidents! - When a super rich individual like Mike Bloomberg can spend $$$ convincing under educated masses to vote for him, it lessens the possibility very much that a good candidate can get elected! Each candidate should get the SAME airtime regardless.

I never thought the day would come that h. clinton would finally be held accountable for the murders of the bengazi 4--it looks like she may be--

Trump has exercised restraint in his criticisms and acted as he should-=-the virus outbreak is being handled as it should---his detractors are now dumbfounded and are grasping(again) at straws--This may be even more important than the economy----

We are SO SAD and DISAPPOINTED with Pres. Trump today. He endorsed a career politician in MN against our WONDERFUL Trump-Style Republican candidate. Career Politician Michelle Fischbach knows how to draw support and endorsements from her career politician friends. Our guy, Dave Hughes, is a 21-year Veteran who has been working for 5 years (2 election cycles) across our HUGE Congressional District. Look it up. It runs down the Western half of MN! We have been trying to get Collin Peterson out for 32 years! He is one of the 3 democrats that have voted against the swamp creatures, so he will be hard to beat again. I wish Pres Trump could read his bio. This is like rich Jeb Bush, Mitt Romney or Bloomberg running against Trump! She brags about all her money. I don't think it's going to get her anywhere. National Right to Life and Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life have endorsed her. Well! Her mother is co-executive director at NRL and her husband is executive director at MCCL! NEPOTISM! She also voted with Planned Parenthood in 2017! So I will NEVER vote for her. My litmus test has forever been PRO-LIFE. I will NEVER EVER vote for anyone who is not. Please get this message to Pres Trump somehow. I hope he never endorses anyone else without knowing the people and their reputation and ALL THE FACTS! Thank you, Mike. I Love You!

I may have been one of the first to name the Coronavirus the 'Beer' virus but just for grins I ran a few numbers. Deaths world wide as of today are 8000. for context that represents 0.00010666667% for a world population of 7.5 Billion. Digging deeper the CDC has some numbers on Influenza since 2010. Illnesses have varied from 9-45 Million( 2.769% - 13.846%) 140,000-810,000 hospitalizations or ( 0.043% - 2.46% , deaths 12-61000 ( 0.00369% - 0.0187%) The 8 deaths to date account for 0.0000024615%. This for Lou Dobbs information is not even close to a "Pandemic" . Auto deaths in America account for 0.0098461% , Gun deaths for all including suicide is 12 per 100,000 or 3250 or 0.001%. The media has DESTROYED any credibility they used to have for two reasons--IF IT BLEEDS IT LEADS mentality and the HATE TRUMP Syndrome has blinded most to WHY America is in the shape we are in today is largely thier RESPONSIBILITY! They are ALL students of institutions of Higher MIS Information and are ALL drinking the same Kool Aide. The PRINT media for a couple hundred years were the "KING" makers by either endorsing or condemning a candidate, then along comes the TV and it's talking heads TRYING to follow in the Footsteps of REAL Journalist and believed in thier own polling to the point that Hilary only had to have the Crown placed on her head. BUT , A funny thing happened on the way to the coronation ball! The American Voters became 'woke' just long enough to upset the final stages of "Fundamentally Changing America" to Socialism ( posing as PROGRESSIVISM) . I WATCHED the Tears on election night while I collected my thoughts. He actually pulled it off!! IN SPITE of the media embracing the Queen to Be, America had a 9-11 moment and reacted likewise. Not since WWII have I witnessed such a spectacle and I almost collapsed from excitement. We had survived 8 years of White Guilt and the acceleration of America and it's core values to a point I figured was the dying gasp of our "REPUBLIC" . Now after 3+ years of the media feeding the Dim Wits in Congress all the False narratives they could INVENT to Impeach. IN SPITE of this three year continuous attack, the President has managed to do what NO other President in my lifetime ( FDR to DJT ) is ACTUALLY doing what he promised on the campaign trail. IF the American people can avoid the media campaign to RETURN to the GOOD OLD DAYS of apologizing for being the Greatest Experiment in history to allow WE the PEOPLE to self govern. America MIGHT have a chance to recover from 30 years of following the rest of the world into ONE WORLD ORDER or Socialism or Communism for the Chosen Few with the return to slavery for the rest of us. People that look at Cuba, Venezuela as a model for the future needs glasses. HISTORY is our Lesson Book--All we have to do is LOOK Backward for guidance.

A friend who suffers from TDS, in response to someone in the group saying that the market was way down again today, which was wrong, said that it was Trump causing it because of his chaotic handling of the situation. Huh! He is the one that tried to calm things down. I mean, how can you get more calm that VP Pence. POTUS took great pains to iterate all the steps that are being taken and that there is no reason for panic. I heard him. What do You want to bet she never watches him speak but gets her news from the media, certainly not FOX. Also, this idea that FOX is not fair is totally wrong. They are the only ones that painstakingly have of people with alternative opinions. They even have regulars that are Dems. Right at this moment they are airing a Town Hall by Bloomberg. He sounds so much more reasonable than Bernie and Joe. This is surprising after his terrible debate. He was given an opportunity to trash the President and to his credit did not do so. He treated it with good humor. While I would not vote for him, I am much more favorably impressed than I thought I would be .

As to Bernie, I heard some talk show remarks today about the possibility that the DNC would reject him at the convention because he is not really a member of the party. I fear that would set the students and other young people off to the point of violent and destructive behavior. If by any chance he would be elected President. I fear it might set off a civil war after a few of his executive orders, and most definitely impeachment proceedings would be proposed by the GOP, although they would probably be in the minority. What a mess.

Now we really are down to three old white men. POTUS is a baby compared to them. LOL

When I hear Bernie or AOC speak, I think of Nikita Khrushchev, former Head of the Soviet Union, "we cannot expect Americans to jump from Capitalism to Communism but we can assist their elected leaders giving Americans small doses of socialism until they suddenly awake to find they have Communism".

I wish mr trump would legalize marijuana federally. The legal states can't even bank. That creates a dangerous situation for all legal states and keeps the banks from making money on transactions. Plus if it were legal federally we could tax it federally and maybe pay the national debt down. That is one of the most dangerous situations Americans face. (The national debt) plus there is not enough weed in the world to make any conservative vote for a commi!!!!!

I take it you have not used the word "insanity" in a while because you feel it no longer is adequate enough to define a reality that has gone BEYOND the reality of insanity, right? I agree....how about the word "double insanity" ?...Actually, as I think about it, the Democrats claiming that President Trump stated that the coronavirus was a hoax goes BEYOND double insanity....But, if you'll scuse me I have to figure this out as I WRITE it out...

    1) It was INSANE thinking for the Democrats to think that ANYONE would...or COULD...believe their lie about the President thinking that this virus is a hoax with all the legitimate publicity that President Trump could not NOT be aware of...

    2) It was INSANE thinking for the Democrats to think that such a preposterous claim would help, rather than hurt, their mission to destroy the President

    3) And probably THE thing that is MOST INSANE about their thinking is that they cannot SEE that their thinking IS insane and that their hatred is at such a demonic level that they will do ANYTHING..no matter how irrational....to try and destroy him!

Sorry. I didn't make it clear that the Yahoo article said people should buy a gallon of water for each person and pet in households so that each of them have a gallon of water to drink every day for in case they are quarantined for an indeterminate amount of time. So if a family is comprised of two adults and two children, and a Pekenese, they would need to purchase 150 gallons of water to have on hand.

Connecticut is still rolling around to legalize marijuana. I'm against it. Medical only! Still can't believe Sen. Sanders ripping his garabage of socialism across the country, extremely scary. Bloomberg trying to buy the White House! At least he's not a socialist. This virus is scary enough, & we the people don't need to have fake news stroke the fires any more. BTW, here in CT, you need to bring your own bags, or pay 10 cents per bag. Also, if you go to a clothing store, you better bring your own bags, imagine this. Great Democrat Governor, again!!!! Boo! Schiff got stiffed!

There's a Yahoo story that has been displayed now for several days, telling people how to prepare for the coming coronavirus apocalypse. The article includes such useful "advice" as to rush out and get at least a gallon of water for each person and pet in your household, get a generator in case the power goes out, and grab all of the canned foods and toilet paper you can while the getting's good. Oh yeah, and get a 90-day supply of all of your medicines. Now, in all fairness, many of the responses to this article pointed out how silly it was, but there were many, many responses from people in a panic about how they would be able, for example, to convince their insurance to pay for all those pills and where they were going to put all of those gallons of water. There were a few, obvious survivalists in the mix who were saying, "See, I told you so," and then the Bernie Bros saying, "Haha, Medicare for all doesn't sound so bad now, does it?"

The best response I found (before I got sick of reading them) was a lengthy one from a real-live nurse who has seen many iterations of the coronavirus and numerous other viruses over the years. Her take is that the media is racheting up its coverage of this one to run up their ratings, and she had this bit of advice for everyone: "Turn off the TV and go wash your hands."

    Great article by the ex-Cuban. My wife and I sat in front of San Donaldson on a flight last year. He was touting the virtues of socialism. After the flight, another lady who overheard him came up to Sammy and told him he didn't know what he was talking about; that socialism is what ruined Cuba. She saved me from having to give Donaldson an earful ! An old friend of mine owns a gas station on a prominent corner in Tucson, AZ. His dad emigrated from Cuba when Castro took over. They'd both have a few choice words for Sam ;-}

Of Course Bernie wants to make Pot legal in all states. Ever since the NIH published their study showing long-term use of Marijuana caused memory deficiencies, democrats have been slavering to get as many people as possible hooked. That way, when they promise something during the election campaign, and then provide something entirely different, very few voters will remember. (Half of them will forget where they parked their car this morning, which is why that app that remembers for you is so popular).
