The week after: Democrats act fast to "Capitol-ize" on violence

By Mike Huckabee

It’s hard even to know where to start in addressing the atrocity that happened last week and the growing exploitation of it by the left. I’ve made my position clear on the use of violence, whether it comes from the left, as it usually does, or the right, as it did this time. It’s all bad, and we have condemned it totally, unlike those on the left who have selectively excused it in the fulfillment of their ideology.

First, I’d recommend you watch the monologue from Mark Levin on Sunday’s LIFE, LIBERTY & LEVIN. It treads some of the same ground we’ve gone over in the past several days, including much of what the left has been doing to change the culture and normalize violence from their side, but Levin expresses it very well.

As he reminds us, the media dismissed it when people who attended a Trump event were assaulted during their long walk from the White House grounds to their transportation home. Sen. Rand Paul, to name one, was attacked. (He’s actually been attacked twice, if you count the one earlier at his home.) There was also the rioting in Lafayette Park in which historic monuments were defaced and toppled and scores of Secret Service agents were injured. When Speaker Nancy Pelosi was asked about the horrendous vandalism by unhinged leftists, she said that “people will do what they do.”

She and her cohorts casually dismissed an ATTACK ON WASHINGTON, but the media let it go. They were saving their venom for their preferred target, and last Wednesday they finally got their chance to bite.

We’ve showed over and over how the media ignored violence from the left. If you weren’t watching a conservative-leaning site, you didn’t see it, because most news outlets didn’t cover it. This went on for months as entire city blocks were occupied, looted and burned. Reporters defended the destruction and called it "largely peaceful." Then-candidate Joe Biden wouldn’t speak out against it; neither would then-running mate Kamala Harris. Only much later, when polls showed public sentiment turning against them, did Democrats say anything about it, and even then their comments were perfunctory. Meanwhile, the Democrat-controlled media had for years been mocking Trump supporters as an inferior species and condemning them as “neo-Nazis.” Actually it WAS the Nazis who spoke of other people such as Jews as “sub-human, rats, and vermin.” I find no instance of Trump supporters speaking of the opposition as “inferior people,” just people with inferior ideas.

"The media have played a huge, huge role in what’s going on in this country,” Levin said, “and they’re exploiting now what took place on Capitol Hill, trying to silence conservatives, silence Republicans, and, unfortunately, a lot of Republicans are buckling.” Democrats know good and well that we didn’t want this to happen and that we reject it totally. If anyone wanted it to happen, it’s likely the people who benefited from it; namely, the very ones on the left who are exploiting it now.

As Levin said, the headline in THE NEW YORK TIMES last Thursday was TRUMP INCITES MOB. Trump used some pretty strong language, and we are on record as having disagreed with that, but he absolutely did not act to “incite” the mob. (“Incite” is a specific legal term; I’ll get to that below.) If you don’t think the NYT folks were gleefully happy to print that headline, you are living in an alternate universe. They welcomed this story with open arms and will enjoy exploiting it in the weeks, months and years to come.

As Tammy Bruce said this weekend in an interview with Steve Hilton, the left are acting swiftly before more information can come out about what really might have happened last Wednesday, more reports on who might have showed up there specifically to initiate violence. Bruce calls them “parasitic opportunists.”

"It is not a representation of what Trump has stood for,” she said.

But the WASHINGTON POST headline was almost identical: TRUMP MOB STORMS CAPITOL. The DAILY NEWS headline was this: PREZ INCITES INSURRECTION. Again, he did not. USA TODAY put it similarly: PRO-TRUMP MOBS STORM US CAPITOL. These headlines were chosen quite deliberately to suggest Trump called for violence.

Levin contrasted these headlines with some that were more objective. The NEW YORK POST put it this way: CAPITOL INVASION. The WASHINGTON TIMES called it an ASSAULT ON DEMOCRACY. Yes, that’s better. It still strongly condemns the violence but refrains from falsely implying that Trump was behind this. It was the last thing he wanted.

On what the Democrats are doing now, Levin nailed it. “Out of one side of their mouth, they talk about unity,” he said. “Out of the other side of their mouth, they spit on people.”

Since they have only a slight majority in the House and Senate (where Kamala Harris will have to break the ties), they want to use what happened to ratchet up their extreme calls for expanding the Supreme Court to create a partisan rubber-stamp, ending the Electoral College system, adding four more Democrat states to cement power in the Senate, and completely eliminating the filibuster. To obtain these things, Democrat politicians, with coordinated help from the megalomaniacs who run social media, plan to use the Capitol Hill incident instead of the mandate from the electorate that they'd expected but DID NOT GET.

In the short term, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is using this little window of time by insisting the 25th Amendment is in play, as an alternative to the impeachment she says she’ll put forward --- nine days from Biden’s inauguration. Ah, yes, Democrats are all about healing and unity.

Here’s what legal expert Jonathan Turley had to say about the legal merits of impeaching Trump now. What Trump said certainly did not meet the standard of “inciting” violence. All this would do is further divide the nation and give one more big slap in the face to Trump supporters, which I assume is what Democrats want to do. They hope to fragment us --- that's also part of the coordinated attack on us by social media that we'll talk about --- but now is the time for us come together.

A personal note

By Mike Huckabee

A personal note on the ongoing Great Leftist Purge of social media:

I still have my Twitter account, because it’s not smart to leap off a lily pad before you know there's another one to land on. I have a Parler account, of course, but that site has gone dark, thanks to Amazon shutting off its server host service (many conservatives are cancelling their Amazon Prime accounts in protest – do none of these public companies have to answer to their stockholders, or are they only in business to promote leftist politics?)

So far, Twitter hasn’t canceled me, and I’m using it to urge all my followers to subscribe to this newsletter through www.mikehuckabee.com/subscribe just in case. I think we’re getting a hard lesson in why it was such a bad idea for conservatives to give up their individual websites and blogs for social media sites that vastly enriched and empowered a handful of Silicon Valley leftists while controlling the content users create.

At this point, for all conservative voices to leave Twitter voluntarily without having another place to go would just be giving our opponents what they want. This is a time to think strategically, not emotionally.

In the meantime, here’s a list of alternative social media, video and browser sites that don’t discriminate against conservatives. The site Gab is especially extending an invitation to people fleeing Twitter. Their CEO was previously shut off from payment systems. I hope these sites are all still online by the time you read this.

And here’s what I hope to see a lot more of, very fast: Gab announced that it will soon offer its own Gab cell phone, independent of Apple or Google censorship or data mining. Not much info yet, but worth keeping an eye on.

Chilling Reminder

By Mike Huckabee

Here’s a chilling reminder of why it’s not a good idea to pin your hopes of preventing a far-left “transformation” of America on West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin not folding under pressure like a thrift store card table.

I’ve written before about the big, invisible switch in Washington that gets flipped whenever power changes hands. Trump is still in office, and it’s already been flipped:

Democrats who cheered on and defended violent riots all year suddenly think they’re an intolerable assault on democracy that must be severely punished…Democrats who’ve railed against billionaires having too much power (or even existing) are now cheering billionaires influencing the election and silencing their opponents’ free speech…and now, add this switch: Democrats who’ve wailed about the unfairness of less populous states having the same number of Senators as New York and California think that Washington, DC, a city with a population of just over 700,000, should have two Democrat Senators to negate the two Republican Senators from Texas, population nearly 30 million.

Sen. Manchin might also want to ponder whether the voters of West Virginia, a solidly red state where he’s the only Democrat in any major office and where Trump beat Biden by over 2-1, really want their Senators’ and Representatives’ votes negated by DC and Puerto Rico.

Parler is taken down

By Mike Huckabee

One of the biggest and most frightening stories in years is going on now, as leftist tech giants make their move to silence conservative voices and destroy free speech and any competitors that allow it. Google and Apple have removed the Parler app from their all stores and Amazon, which provided the hosting service to Parler, cut it off last night, removing the Twitter alternative from the Internet.

Parler CEO John Matze condemned what he called this “coordinated effort” to inflict damage on a competitor and said the site will take “full legal action” to fight it. Parler could be off-line for weeks, months or even permanently, if it can’t find a server willing to risk the ire of the Silicon Valley giants.

Adding a layer of irony to the outrage, Matze said Parler doesn’t even have a Groups feature, and the #1 social media site for organizing meet-ups at last week’s rally in Washington was Facebook. Also worth mentioning: Twitter still hasn’t banned Iran’s Ayatollah or stopped a trending hashtag of “Hang Mike Pence.”

I’ll also add, in the interest of journalistic accuracy (remember that?), that all the stories that keep calling Parler a “right-wing social media site” that spreads disinformation are themselves spreading disinformation. Parler has no particular political leanings other than protecting free speech within certain legal limits, like banning threats. You can be an AOC fan, sign up and post quotes from Chairman Mao all day long, and nobody will stop you. Also, the tech giants are waging war on Parler for being a neutral platform and not editing users' content, the very same rule that they're supposed to follow to be immune from lawsuits under Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act.

Republican Rep. Devin Nunes called the actions by Google, Apple and Amazon “clearly a violation of antitrust, civil rights, (and) the RICO statute,” and called for a criminal racketeering investigation. (But please, spare us any more pointless hearings where the CEOS of Twitter, Google and Facebook put on phony wounded/baffled expressions at the suggestion that they might be partisan.)

Nunes asked where the DOJ and the FBI are. I assume they’re getting ready to be just as independent as Joe Biden promised, so it will probably be up to state governments, consumers and the censored sites themselves to fight back in court, at least until 2022.

Quote from that link: “Biden also took more money from Big Tech than any candidate in American history. Donations to the Democrats by Bay Area residents rose from $163 million in 2016 to $199 million in 2020. Bay Area residents gave $800,000 to Trump in 2016, and $22 million in 2020. That says all we need to know about who Silicon Valley thought would give it an easy ride.”

Finally, as our pop culture expert, Pat Reeder, points out, the CEO of Mozilla, parent company of the Firefox browser, just issued a statement promoting radical leftist censorship, so he suggests replacing Firefox with DuckDuckGo's browser app on your cell phone and with Brave on your desktop or laptop.

Biden-Harris announces plans for small business

By Mike Huckabee

The Biden-Harris Administration (or is that the other way around? Even Joe doesn’t know) announced that it will help small businesses destroyed by Democrat shutdowns and riots by discriminating against white male business owners. They didn’t put it that way, of course, but that’s what they said, just the same.

As a number of commenters pointed out, discriminating on the basis of race or gender is a violation of the Civil Rights Act and the 14th Amendment, so Nancy Pelosi had better get cracking on impeaching Biden before he even takes office, the way she’s trying to impeach Trump after he leaves office.

A second Capitol Police officer dies

By Mike Huckabee

A second Capitol Police officer who was involved in last Wednesday’s clash with protesters has died, but the official statement contained few details. There was a report by the A.P. that it was an apparent suicide. Our condolences and prayers to his family, and let’s hope their wishes for privacy are respected and his death not exploited for political purposes.

I see the State of Michigan is performing a bi-partisan investigation of the 2020 election. I wonder what are the qualifications of the auditors? Do they have Jovan Pulitzer working with them? Or, is it just a group of unqualified political hacks trying to add a spoon full of sugar to the 2020 election castor oil.

Does Nancy want to impeach President Trump to clear her conscience because the election was not legitimate and she knows she and the members of Congress violated the constitution? If she impeached him and the truth comes out later and it probably will eventually, she can say, “well he wouldn’t be president any way because he was impeached!” She needs to have a psychological exam. She is absolutely the craziest person in Congress and should be removed from office. I sure hope that all the ones in California were just deceived by her and aren’t out of their minds as she is - if they are Lord have mercy on California because they know not what they have done to this nation.

I have never seen such hatred among democrats. They are literally coming unhinged. If Mike Pence stabs Trump in the back and joins democrats by invoking the 25th Amendment he will be worse than Mitt Romney. The democrats are attempting to gain total power over the American people. They are of the same cloth as the people we saw in Germany during the 1930;s and 40's. There's no difference.

A few thoughts. First many may not go on your cruise. Alot will not take the vaccine as there are many coming down with serious side effects. Some countriesare proposing to put peopleon a no-fly list if they refuse it.
Also i have noticedmany influential church officials standing against the peaceful protest. They are noted followers of CRC and cancel culture. We are seeing 2 nations now. One us the free USA. The other is the latest colony of the CCP. All these are the blue states
Be good to look into articles pointing out that severallaptops were taken all have incrimininating info Nancy and her cabal. Could this be the reason they are desperately trying to demonize Trump and 75 million who voted for him?
It is now 1984 in real life.

It's not about Trump. I, like all Veterans and most elected officials took an oath to "protect and defend against all enemies, foreign and domestic." When Nancy Pelosi "Threatens" the Vice President, and accuses Trump of "Sedition," you know that she is fully aware that she is committing Sedition by going to the Pentagon and trying to take authority and power away from the Commander in Chief. The lady is herself deranged, blocking a peaceful transition after the election, and she should be removed from our Congress IMMEDIATELY! And many of her cronies and cohorts along with her. She is a Domestic Enemy, they are the ones inciting violence, and I fear there is more to come if she is allowed to continue.

Can you let your readers know about what I have just heard that banks are blocking accounts that are held by those who are Trump Supporters and Conservatives? That banks like M & T are putting holds on people able to access their bank accounts, who are account holder, but somehow the banks have found out that those who hold accounts in their bank, who support President Trump, maybe by auditing accounts they found contributions that state the account holders are Conservative, these banks are putting holds on these accounts so those who own the accounts, cannot access their money? Have your heard about this or have you had your team research this? Or is it just a hoax? I wouldn't doubt it that the Liberals have somehow manipulated the banking system to do this, just to destroy any and all Conservatives. It is illegal, but we know that never stops them.

Your comments yesterday about the Revolutionary War were fantastical, a fairy tale of actual historical events. The Revolutionary War started long before July 4, 1776. There was much less consensus than you pretend and it was a poorly coordinated mess that was nearly lost. The Boston Tea Party was not a considered peaceful protest endorsed by a central peace-loving government representing all 13 colonies. The Revolutionary War was politically contentious even after it supposedly ended. A more realistic view of what is required to preserve human freedoms is required and should inform your commentary assuming that you are not soon censored by those who pretend to endorse peace only to destroy it.

Secondly, there is no way that Trump incited violence. You need to watch his speech before you continue to perpetrate this destructive false narrative. The same would be true for Republicans who are now abandoning Trump if indeed they ever did support him.

Thirdly, the most unhinged person in Washington DC these days is Pelosi. She is the politician who is truly unfit for office. She is needlessly and wantonly undermining democracy and fomenting unrest. Legitimate efforts should in fact be made to remove her from office.

Finally, the Supreme Court has been a travesty, and has now become a failed institution. Its recent decisions not to intervene and accept cases for adjudication related to the election directly contributed to subsequent events and the installation of an illegitimate government. This will certainly destroy the people’s confidence in government and a fair judiciary which was previously suspect at best. The Supreme Court, actually each individual currently appointed judge, aided and abetted the irretrievable takedown of American democracy.

Dear Gov. Huckabee, I don't know if you have any influence to President Trump, but I believe that Ashli Babbitt should be awarded a Presidential Medal of Freedom, for her terrorism in attempting to warn congress of the impending invasion, unfortunately she was murdered before anyone could possibly know her motives. This will probably not happen except if for no other reason that it would put such a twist in Nancy's Knickers that Schumer's marbles will turn bright blue.
Alternatively the President should issue a posthumous pardon, which would put warm feeling in the hearts of the 75 million voters and the umpteen million voters whose votes were hijacked by Biden.
    Thank you for your newsletters.
