“I am asking for everyone at the U.S. Capitol to remain peaceful. No violence! Remember, WE are the Party of Law & Order --- respect the Law and our great men and women in Blue. Thank you!”

President Trump tweeted this in response to the violence that erupted Wednesday at the Capitol Building, when some “Trump supporters” broke through barricades and stormed the building, breaking windows, getting rough with police in the halls, even entering the House chamber. As this is being written, news has just broken that one of the people who got shot in the melee has died.

Trump is right: we ARE the party of law and order, but I think most of us will agree that he needs to be a lot tougher in his condemnation of this. The same can be said of the video statement he released. Of course, virtually every news outlet who posted his tepid “go home” video had to editorialize, saying that Trump “repeated false claims” of election fraud. Facebook took it down.

So did YouTube.

Trump also tweeted this on Wednesday: “Mike Pence didn’t have the courage to do what should have been done to protect our Country and our Constitution, giving States a chance to certify a corrected set of facts, not the fraudulent or inaccurate ones which they were asked to previously certify. USA demands the truth!”

Well, yes, Mr. President, but in the USA, at least those of us on the right, also demand that the Constitution be meticulously followed. Vice President Pence obviously was doing what he thought was right concerning his role in this. We may disagree with him –- numerous constitutional experts do, and Alan Dershowitz isn’t sure –- and you obviously disagree with him, but please, right now, stay out of that process and stop pressuring him.

Trump told his supporters to go home, but no reaction to this violence is complete without a total, vociferous condemnation. We all condemned the truly awful violence coming from the Democrat side this summer when their party and the media (but I repeat myself) failed to do it. In this case, it’s just as wrong, no matter who is behind it.

We are aghast at this.

With polls showing Trump leading Biden by seven points in Arizona, the state’s Democrat Attorney General Kris Mayes announced (coincidentally, I’m sure) multiple felony indictments of a number of top Republicans for allegedly attempting to “overturn” Biden’s win.

They either didn’t anticipate or were desperate enough to take the risk that putting Biden onto a college campus at this moment would be like tossing a cat into a dog pound. Or as Biden himself might say, like yelling “Movie!” in a crowded firehouse.

Mr. Huckabee,
I am in no way condoning the breach of the US Capital and I am not excusing the Trump supporters who participated, but you do know that Antifa was present and instigated a great deal of the violence. President Trump understands the frustration of over 75 million Americans who just watched this election stolen from us. There is a good chance we've just lost our country because the radical left will transform our land into something I never thought I would see in my lifetime. In his pressure of Mike Pence, he was standing up for us all and the future of my children and my grandchildren as he promised he would do four years ago! Mike Pence turned his back on us all and handed a fraudulent win to Joe Biden after announcing in a speech the other day that every legal vote would be counted and every illegal vote would not be. He did not fulfill that promise. When you talk about the constitution being meticulously followed, what about the laws and state constitutions which were completely ignored this past election cycle. The other side cheated, got away with it and will do it again. In fact, they already did do it again in Georgia. I almost always agree with what you say, but I have to disagree on this one. Not that you have said this, but I will say people need to stop saying this was a legitimate election, because it was not!! This isn't even about Biden or Trump, but about the integrity of our elections now and in the future. What are we supposed to do? Just sit down, shut up and take it?? I am a person of faith and I know that God is in control and that He will win in the end, but we cannot sit by and be silent while the left lie, steal and cheat! Thank you for your time!

Yes, Mike, I was there. I drove alone from Franklin, TN, because all flights on Southwest were "unavailable" and the only other airline wanted too much.
I sent this message to two of my Trump admiring friends friends in Ukraine, a former Soviet Block country in Eastern Europe.
"I AM A BIT TIRED BUT MOSTLY TERIBLY DISAPPOINTED THAT THUGS INFILTRATED OUR PEACEFUL RALLY AND MARCH AT the NATIONAL MALL IN WASHINGTON, DC. THE POLICE WERE TOTALLY UNPREPARED FOR THE THUGS WHO DO NOT REPRESENT THOSE OF US WHO RESPECT LAW AND ORDER AND HONORED PRESIDENT TRUMP'S CALL TO GO HOME PEACEFULLY.
THEN OUR ELECTED SENATORS BETRAYED US BY REVERSING THEIR PRIOR PROMISE TO OBJECT TO ELECTORS FROM GEORGIA AND NEVADA WHERE VOTING FRAUD HAS BEEN WIDELY DOCUMENTED.

While a lot has happened in the last 24 hours I think that I and a lot of other people still want to know WHO GAVE THE ORDER TO STOP THE COUNTING on the eve of Nov. 3rd!?! That despicable, deceitful, yellow-bellied coward will never come forward. But if they are ever identified their head should end up on a chopping block. Nancy Pelosi started this hate filled atmosphere when she tore up the President's speech in a big public display.

I hope what news media we have left will not invite those that was not strong enough to do what was right.
The most let down was Graham, he let our President help him win election And now look at the coward.
Marsha was another one to disappoint me along with so many more.
They need to be ignored In our media. No glory for cowards. Guess they would not be willing to give their life according to scripture.

I resent the immediate condemnation of Trump for the events that transpired, without investigation to determine those responsible. I strongly believe he was set up and the instigators were planted among the thousands of Trump supporters. The police made no attempt to secure the Capitol and the mob literally walked in. The riot resulted in shutting down the challenges to the swing state electoral votes, thereby insuring no questions would be answered and no proof presented. It also unfairly discredited a president who has been under attack by the Left and the MSM since the day he took office. They have tried repeatedly to take him down and unfortunately, they may have succeeded in a coup of our elected government. Trump has accomplished wonderful things for our country, with both hands tied behind his back. He deserved a fair election but we may never know the truth.

Yesterday was tragic, inexcusable. But to me the real loss was not being able to hear the evidence beyond that stated on Arizona. Closest I heard was the comment by Lindsay Graham, when he asked about illegal ballots and only was shown "1" or something to that effect. I wanted the public, on both sides to hear the evidence. Sadly our divided Republic seems to live in 2 echo chambers or silos. There were too many sworn affidavits about fraud for me to believe this election had integrity. But violence is not the way and if they were Trump supporters they shot themselves in the foot - but more sadly 4 lost their lives!

I agree with much of your commentary on having trustworthy elections and that ‘left’ and ‘right’ should be under the same rules. I am disappointed that you did not speak to President Trump’s role in Wednesday’s protest turned riot. He gathered the crowd, provided a fiery speech/cause and left them without direction on what could and could not be done. This was/is unacceptable to me in a leader. He was ultimately responsible for what happened. I cannot vote again for hm. Surely, he s not the only one who can lead this country in adhering to its founding principles. You ran once and I hope you might consider running again

Mike, the President wasn't interfering with the certification process of the VP. Pence could have sent back electors to states for 10 days. Dick Morris is right. He had no courage. Unfortunately, President Trump only had choices from the swamp to work with Republicans and Democrats alike. He had no chance.

Correct on all points Gov.! He did not do much right after the Nov. election. The first thing he should have done yesterday, at the first unruly conduct by protesters, would have been to call on them to cease their actions and advise them that he had alerted the National Guard.
Pre-election he accomplished many, many things for the good of this country; I will not try to list them all. Not considering his post-election mistakes, I rate him the best president since Ronald Regan,

...funny how the Washington D C prosecuting attorney calls for the 55 that were arrested yesterday, which all of them were not Trump supporters, but blm and antifa. And professional disruption a holes....but the D A wants those people prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, but didn't do a dang thing when blm and antifa burned DC and the rest of the country to the ground...while pelousy, waters, shummer and Harris called for more rioting in the streets.

You do realize the crazy rioters have now been identified as paid Antifa, AND the DC police have been caught on video opening barricades and doors to the capitol to let them in! This was a set-up, Mike…not only to make Trump supporters look bad but also to impeach Trump. This was planned. I hope you know that by now!

I am very upset and sad that this violence came about on President's term as he was only trying to get the right people to help him and the only thing that came out of all his was I felt that he got set up by some one who really wanted to make sure's that our President was taken out . Then to see the Republican's back down against our President with out prof of who was behind all this mess at the Capital , totally upset me .Trump is not for violence at all like the far left is , what about all that crime and burning going on for over a year, No Accountability to the far left. I am totally discussed about these Republicans who do nothing to help President Trump. They only are doing for themselves and no one else. I will be Praying for our great country and President Trump who has done a great job for the American people. May God always bless this man and his family.

Mike, I was absolutely appalled when I saw the violence yesterday. Who in their right minds would think that to be an appropriate way to save President Trump and give him a chance at the Presidency? Who would be so blatantly stupid as to believe that this kind of action would work? It was guaranteed to do the exact opposite, which is what happened when the Senators who were planning on objecting, changed their minds. Now if It was an Antifa action, that makes sense, because it is obvious that they could blame 'Trump Supporters' and deep six the objections to the electoral votes - plus torpedo any further investigation into the voter fraud that we all know was extreme and obvious. I am sick at heart because these people ruined our lives at least for the next four years. Can we recover from this fiasco? I certainly hope so, and put my faith in the Lord for his help. He gave us Trump and Moses, and maybe he could pick somebody with a little more charisma and talent for making speeches, next time?

Riots, looting, burning down business 7 & killing all last year liberals had nothing to say, but now all of a sudden the hypocrites are ready to attack 75 million Trump supporters. BYW done with both parties. Now you have allowed them to steal election without even investigating or looking at evidence. They will steal every election from now on because you Republicans didn't have the courage or fortitude to stand up for 75 million people. And now you all will allow them to 25th President Trump so he can not run in 2024. I no longer have a President, A thief will never be my President. I have no respect for any politicians anymore. I'm 63 years old & I have voted in every election since I was legal age of 18 years old. We are no longer America !!!!! May God have mercy on us !!!!!!!!!!!!

How is it that I place my vote for FOR Trump and it get's changed to Biden? Not just once but twice. How is that a fair voting system? How is not verifying legal ID ok now days? There is obviously more to all of this than the general public will ever know and I'm aware it isn't good. God bless you and God bless America
