Today is a pretty epic day for the Huckabee family.  Sarah Huckabee Sanders, youngest of our 3 children, becomes the 47th Governor of Arkansas today at noon in a swearing in ceremony on the steps of the Arkansas State Capitol.  There is no way to fully express the range of emotions I’m personally feeling watching her enter her service in an office that I had the privilege of working in for just short of 11 years.  Her move with her family to the Arkansas Governor's Mansion will mark a return to the home in which she spent a lot of her adolescent years learning places to hide.  Her 3 children will try the same stunts, no doubt, but they don’t have a chance!  She already knows where all the great hiding places are!

Her becoming Governor is historic in that it marks the first time in American history that a daughter has followed her father in a Governor’s Office.  She is the first woman to be elected Governor in our state.  But I believe the real history is yet to be written as she will bring vision, bold ideas, and a great team of quality people to the office.  Above all, it’s my fervent prayer that she takes one piece of advice from her Dad:  “Never forget who your boss is!”  It’s not the donors who helped get you there.  It’s not the lobbyists, the legislators, the staff, or the press (certainly not!).  It’s the citizens of the state who maybe didn’t vote for you, couldn’t afford to contribute to your campaign, or have a thing they can do for you.  No matter how they dress, what they do for a living, where they live, or how much education they have or don’t have, THEY are your bosses.  Serve them.  Love them.  Pray for them daily.”

She enters with a servant’s heart and the heart of a Mom.  I’m proud of all 3 of my children, but today, it’s her special day to celebrate with her incredible husband Bryan, their 3 children Scarlett, Huck, and George, and thousands of friends from across the nation.  And her parents celebrate with her!

We are also very proud of Sarah and pray that she will be a great governor. She is a tough, honest woman.

I look forward to your Daily Bible verses. It's usually the first thing I read every day. Thank you Mike for your love of God and country. God bless you and your family.

Congratulations Sarah! If you are anything like your Dad, you will be a wonderful Governor. I am a huge fan of the Mike Huckabee Show.
I admire your Father, and he reminds me so much of my own Father. He cared for my Mother throughout her years of Alzheimers until the day he passed at 87 yrs old (on their 65th Wedding Anniversary, 07-16-1938). As the only daughter out of four sons, I took over until her death in 2007. She was 92.
Sarah, I look up to your parents, who brought you up to become the strong Christian woman I see in you.
The people of Arkansas are in good hands.
God bless you and your family.
    Rachel

I no longer live in Arkansas but was born and raised in Harrison. My heart lives in the Ozarks where I still own the "home farm place" with my brother and where my family settled long ago. I am so proud of my home state for electing someone who has vision and the ambition to make Arkansas a great place to live. Maybe someday I will return. Best of luck and many prayers for Sarah as she makes hard decisions for the good of all.

I am such a fan of your daughter and I think she will do a fantastic job as Governor. In fact I have told several people that she would make a great President if she ever wanted to run. She would have my vote! Congratulations Sarah!

You and your daughter are what our country needs. If God fearing Christians were in every office of the land, what a better place this would be. Not perfect, but much better, I'm sure. I wish the very best for your daughter as she tackles her new position. I hope she and many others like her can turn this nation around and help us throw off this yoke of leftist globalist criminals currently in the executive branch and so many other branches of gov't. It will take divine intervention and people with God in their heart to throw the election stealing, treasonous criminals out. God bless you and your efforts.

Congratulations to u and your Daughter! Not from your state, I reside in the great state of MD, that has now become a sanctuary st. But since your new governor is a female and republican, maybe I’ll think about joining u all some day, ?? I enjoyed watching her as trump’s press secretary, she stood her ground with some of those liberal so called journalists and I’m sure she will be a fantastic governor! Pray for many more like her!

I got to know who she is as Trumps press secretary and her poise and intelligence struck me right away. Now she has been elected to Gov of Arkansaw. I hope she is our first female president some day as I think she has the temperament to hold the office. (I fear for our country if the cackling hyena is ever sworn in, but that is for another day.) Today we celebrate Sarah's journey. Congratulations and prayers going up for you always.
