"The Paper Of Record"
By Mike Huckabee
The New York Times issued the mother of all corrections, with at least three major errors in one story. The biggest: the number of children hospitalized with COVID is 63,000 from August 2020 to now, not 900,000 since the beginning of the pandemic.

Biden Leadership Poll
By Mike Huckabee
Do you think Joe Biden has done a better job than Donald Trump handling the fight against COVID-19?
Anser this question, plus questions about Afghanistan, Biden's competency, the economy and the border here:

Oh, look
Nike has finally found a nation in which its conscience simply can’t allow it to do business. No, of course it’s not China, silly! It’s Israel!

Happy Anniversary
By Mike Huckabee
Congratulations to Fox News on its 25th anniversary! This is causing all sorts of moaning and waiting on Fox’s liberal rivals like CNN, but that’s okay. Nobody’s going to hear it.

The plan to chill parental free speech
By Mike Huckabee
Mark Levin released a letter from the nonprofit group America First Legal, charging that Attorney General Merrick Garland’s outrageous statement about using the FBI to investigate parents who speak out at school board meetings was the culmination of an inside conspiracy involving high-ranking officials in the DOJ and the Biden White House.
They allege that at the behest of major supporters including the National Education Association and the American Federation of Teachers, these insiders have been meeting since September to formulate this unconstitutional plan to chill parental free speech. They claim that having it sparked by a letter from the National School Board Association was part of the plan, which explains why there was such a short time between the letter appearing and Garland’s response.
The AFL also alleges that on October 5th, the Biden White House Counsel’s Office held a call briefing other officials on how to talk about “equity” initiatives, avoid liability for violating discrimination laws, and hide “equity” measures, initiatives and actions from disclosure under the Freedom of Information Act.
You can read more details at the link. I’d say that if the goal was to intimidate Americans into staying quiet and not asking questions, that is definitely not going to happen.
The Facebook whistleblower loses credibility
By Mike Huckabee
It was only last Sunday when “Sixty Minutes” ran its bombshell interview with Facebook “whistleblower” Francis Haugen. Even though I’m hardly a fan of the way Facebook censors posts, I smelled something fishy about this from the get-go. I noticed that all references to “disinformation” and “inciting violence” were illustrated with footage of Trump supporters with nary a clip of the months of BLM and Antifa riots. I wrote at the time, “It makes me wonder how much of this pious concern about Facebook’s internal post vetting and ‘fact-checking’ is really just about the left not wanting people on the right to have free speech.”
That interview was the kick-off for a dizzying week for Ms Haugen, with her testimony before the Senate stirring calls from Democrats (?) for government intervention against Facebook. Meanwhile, conservative reporters were looking into Haugen’s background (including donations to far-left groups and work with the Facebook team that banned the New York Post’s accurate Hunter Biden laptop story), and suggesting that her motives might not be as pure as they were painted.
The story rapidly took a different turn, with Monica Showalter at the American Thinker noticing that Haugen “seemed to be upset that Facebook doesn’t censor enough.” Conservative columnist Mark Schlichter branded her calls for regulation a “trap” to fool Republicans into creating an agency to oversee speech on social media - an agency that would be packed with Deep State bureaucrats with the power to censor conservative speech. Others began questioning how a “whistleblower” came out of the shadows and within two days, had a PR agency (the same one where Jen Psaki used to work), a Twitter blue check account and a Senate hearing scheduled. It smells of some behind-the-scenes entity orchestrating the whole thing.
At this link, Ms Showalter provides a timeline of how this story unraveled from bombshell to apparent hoax in less than six days.
This appears to be a case of leftists trying to panic Republicans into supporting something that would harm them in the long run. Fortunately, too many people smelled a rat and refused to be stampeded. Yes, Facebook is a near-monopoly that poses a great danger to free speech and that needs to be reined in. But not by replacing it with a government agency that might be even worse.
Kurt Schlichter has a suggestion for a much better solution once the Republicans take back Congress.
Six charges
By Mike Huckabee
The Marine Corps has filed six charges against Marine Lt. Col. Stuart Scheller for calling on top military brass to accept accountability for the tragically botched pullout from Afghanistan.
He’ll face a misdemeanor-level special court martial for allegedly “displaying contempt toward officials, disrespecting superior commissioned officers, willfully disobeying a superior commissioned officer, dereliction in the performance of his duties, failure to obey an order or regulation, and displaying conduct unbecoming an officer and a gentleman.”
That all sounds pretty bad, but at least he didn’t commit treason like some people I could name.
“Mean Tweets” Don’t Seem So Bad Now
By Mike Huckabee
Due to rising inflation, consumer prices increased by 5.3% in August over last year. Some economists claimed it was just temporary because of the pandemic, but there seem to be no signs of inflation falling anytime soon, and more massive government spending devaluing the dollar will only add fuel to the fire (even that will cost us more: gas prices reached a national average of $3.22 a gallon on Wednesday, the highest since 2014 - you know: pre-Trump.) Natural gas prices are also on the rise, so brace yourself for higher heating bills this winter.
That story says there may be some relief for gas prices with OPEC agreeing to pump more oil. But when Trump was in office, America was finally energy-independent and we didn’t have to beg OPEC to pump more oil. But then, there were those mean tweets…
In other inflation news, here’s how the rising prices are affecting the budgets of average families in a time when even the Dollar Tree is now charging more than a dollar.
https://www.westernjournal.com/bidens-america-real-cost-inflation-average-american-family/
Remember how Biden promised that nobody making less than $400,000 was going to pay a penny more in tax under him? He wasn’t referring to the hidden tax of inflation. We’ll all be paying a lot more thanks to that. Even those of us who shop at Dollar Tree.
60,000 illegal migrants coming our way
By Mike Huckabee
A massive caravan of 60,000 illegal migrants, mostly Haitians, is heading for the US in the next few weeks, with a second shortly behind. And their leaders are making it clear that they don’t intend to let any government, including ours, keep them from entering the US. As one put it, “with papers or without papers, we are ready for war.”
https://www.westernjournal.com/ready-war-leader-migrant-caravan-says-nothing-will-get-way-making-us/
Of course, we’re not allowed to call them “invaders” because that would be un-PC and insensitive. But what else would you call a 60,000-strong force that declares that it’s going to enter your nation whether you like it or not and considers itself “ready for war”? “Surprise houseguests?"
President Biden seems so proud of himself for “ending” the Afghan War (by making matters exponentially worse.) Let’s see how he deals with this new invasion. They claim they’re “ready for war.” Are we?
